I have always had a second breakfast. My hunger actually decreased when I was pregnant because either I was nauseous and hated food, or I had a tiny human pushing against my tummy so I would eat like three bites and feel full. This is probably why groceries are one of our largest expenses.

  • Shortly after LO was born, we moved back to our hometown.  I was super excited to be closer to family and friends.  While I am glad to be back, I miss living in our old city way more than I thought I would.  Also, I feel completely SMOTHERED by both my parents and my ILs. It's been quite an adjustment to say the least. However, I would never tell DH how I feel because we essentially moved back for me.

  • I'm trying to get out of going to my niece's birthday party tonight because there will be so much pizza and cake. I've stuck to this diet to a T for 4 days, but I'm highly unstable at this point and it wouldn't take much convincing for me to give up. I've been to the other 13 parties she's had, surely she won't mind me missing the 14th. I'm a horrible aunt..
No you're not. DH and I have a combined 22 nieces and nephews, each of which has a birthday party every year. I can't take it anymore. And I refuse to host whole family bday parties for DD either, because there are just. so. many. people.

  • We have never hosted a family party for DD1. I still decorate and we have cake/special dinner/presents but just with my H and I (and now DD2). Once she starts school she can have a party with friends.

You're not horrible! I've never been to a birthday party for any of my nieces and nephews. Granted, we are long distance but I send a card and give them a call and that's it.
  • I have zero energy to parent the last 3 days. I'm dialing it in from the couch as much as possible.

  • Sorry- long story to my FFFC-----   So I'm extremely sad, SUPER heartbroken, I'm REALLY having a hard time with the thought of what is about to happen...

Our dog.. he's pee'ing in the house NON-STOP. like he doesn't know he is going, just walking while peeing, standing and peeing.. last night between 6pm - 9pm he had 4 'accidents'  and not just dribbles- massive amount of pee. He is slowly losing interest in food- and drinking a TON of water. he's a 10 year old boxer. we've done a few tests and tried some different antibiotics, for bladder infection, kidney infection, diabetes tests.  We are doing another round of tests today including an  X-ray and possibly an ultrasound..  we are narrowed down to either a tumor in his bladder or kidney failure. We are pretty sure this is the beginning of the end for him.

He's old and we wont do any surgery on him and right now we are looking at most likely having him put down. again, I'm so sad. I'm struggling because he doesn't seem to be in pain, but nothing we are trying is working....

My FFFC--- I'm ready to just put him down because i'm really sick of cleaning up pee ALL.THE.TIME.  poor dog!

I see this all the time and can't flame at all. I would be the exact same way. I also figure if it's a dog that doesn't normally have accidents in the house it must be degrading for him and I wouldn't like to see my dogs lose their dignity :( I'm sorry it's happening to you guys! It's heartbreaking.

  • My FFFC- I envy moms whose babies will sleep on them. Sometimes I just want to nap with LO but by the time I get her to sleep I've got maybe 30 mins of nap time left. Not nearly enough to fall asleep myself and get decent zzz's in. She would also never just lounge in bed with me. Not happily anyway.

  • Jumping off my dirty house post. My FFFC is that I'm kind of hoping a friend of mine doesn't text me today, although I don't think she will. She texted me earlier in the week about getting together this weekend and that she'd text me later in the week to get plans together, though she does it all the time and never comes up. I just want to clean, then sleep and relax. It's been a long week and my house looks horrible.

FFFC: I find it strangely satisfying to meet someone who exactly fits a stereotype in my head.

For example...I just met a librarian here who is EXACTLY THE STEREOTYPE of a librarian.

ETA: I also like finding real life things that look like cartoon versions.  Like perfectly cartoon pumpkin shaped pumpkins
I've met two people that look exactly like cartoon characters. It makes me happy.

I know a guy who looks like "Pete" from the Mickey Mouse cartoons... and he's just as much an A-hole.

When the personality fits, it's even better!
  • I love shoes but hate wearing them.  I love being barefoot but having lots of shoes

I'm so sad that none of my pre-preg shoes fit...this actually makes me sadder than my pants not fitting.

  • For the first time maybe ever, I am side eyeing something and I don't like how it feels . I'm doing all the research to change my own mind and it's not working #hippieproblems

YoginiKiki confess it: what are you side eyeing?  Inquiring minds want to know.

A lot of mine don't fit either. It makes me pretty sad because I had one pair and my only pair of Jack Roger sandals H got me as a gift at our wedding that has my initials on it that were tight to begin with. They're definitely out of the question now.

You would find where I work to be very satisfying, I comment a lot about how everyone here, including DH and me, are steriotypical (ex. I can't spell) engineers. Not much common sense to be found around here.

Also, I have met a guy that looks like Peter from Family Guy.

My mother was a librarian. (She is now retired). Library science degree and everything. She is EXACTLY like the stereotype.

courtniko what kind of engineer are you?  I'm Geotechnical (registered as Civil though).  Everybody at my work just looks like normal people, I think.

@andrea ri 80, I'm aerospace engineer. It could be where I work too. A very high percentage of people here are PhDs (not me) and it is very research heavy. Aerospace engineers do tend to be very into space beyond their jobs, probably why a lot of them got into it in the first place. Like space is not just of interst to them, but a passion and a hoby. I hope I am explaining that so it makes sense...
