I desperately need new bras. Do I go to JCPenneys and get fitted for some cheap ones for now, just head to Target and try some cheap ones on or bite the bullet and go straight to nursing bras?
Get the Medela sleeping nursing bra in whatever size the band fits tight but not too tight.... a tight fit makes for a better fitting bra in the long run. Loose fitting ones won't support you.
I have very large tatas (34F pre pregnancy ) so I got properly fitted about a month or so ago. I am holding off on nursing bras right now, just to make sure I will be able to nurse.
I also got some maternity underwear. Now that I have bras and panties that fit, I feel like a new person. It has literally improved every aspect of my life.
Edited for clarity.
Truth. I felt so much more comfortable when I stopped trying to squeeze myself into ill-fitting bras.
I just got 2 regular bras in my new size for cheap at target . Watching my sister I am afraid a bra that fits right now wont be the bra that fits when I start nursing and then who knows what happens after a little while so I think I will just buy the nursing bra that fits once I get there.
I'd say get something that fits for now and hold off on nursing bras and get those once your milk comes in and you have an actual idea of what size you'll actually be.

I just went straight to nursing bra! I bought one to start! It was only $24. My boobs already went up two cups! I can't imagine them getting any bigger, but if they do it was only$24 if not I will have it for a long time
At Nordstrom Rack you can get more expensive brands of bras for really reduced prices - that's where I bought my pregnancy bras (normal bras in a bigger size).
I also took advantage of the VS sale. It's wrapping up so the sales are extra good. Got 1 regular bra and 3 sports bras that are really soft and allow me to easily pop my boob out...so I'm hoping they can work as a nursing bra later, although I'm sure I'll still get 1 or 2 official nursing bras when the time comes.

I have to admit.... I slightly cringe when I hear VS. Yes I am guilty of shopping there myself a few times but honestly.. their bras are not that well made or supportive. Some are definitely better than others, and some are just flat out worthless. Plus their sizing can be a little wonky there..
If you ladies really want to drop some cash on a SUPER comfortable bra that will fit unlike anything you've ever felt try the Chantelle company. They make Wacoals, La Perla, and even some younger hipper lines... I prefer the basic Wacoal in nude silk... it really does feel like heaven. Most are underwire and full coverage but they fit beautifully. Also they have the most unique and "in between" sizes you can find anywhere, period. No matter what your boobs look like Wacoal has a bra that will fit them and make them look amazing.
Another brand favorite, Natori- good for the bigger sizes. They go DD and above.

Kohl's has a price break going on bras. They have lots for 14.99. Depending on your size, not always the cutest. I'm now a 34DD and there weren't a lot of choices in that size.
I'm debating the nursing bra cause I feel like they have gotten again!
I also got nursing bras at Maternity and Target because they were the same price as regular bras, so why not? Early on I got an underwire bra that I won't be able to wear until my supply is established, a sports bra that is already feeling a bit tight, and a stretchy sleep bra that should last me through BF'ing.
I was feeling cheap, and I LOVE Gilligan O'Malley bras. Don't get me wrong, they aren't VS. But, they also are less than $20. I have a non-nursing one that I adore, and this one had good reviews. I have been looking at bras for weeks, because I wanted a good deal.
Hopefully it will work. I ordered a bigger size, and I am hoping it will work now, and later. But, who knows. I can't imagine I'll get bigger than an F (I started with , I mean I HOPE I won't, but we shall see...
I outgrew VS back when the test showed up positive. Luckily I have a friend that gave me her stash of bras before I did the FET. I'm wearing a 34F now and it was like heaven when I finally switched over. I would buy at least 1-2 good fitting bras for now then get the nursing bra later.
I agree with @Lezzie82. Although I own a few VS bras and I have one style I like. They are not what I'd consider "good" bras. I have gotten a few from speciality shops and there is a huge difference. VS bras are cute, they come in every style and color for whatever your mood is. They are ok for younger, smaller chested women that don't need support but if you need support just keep on walking. There is a reason they don't carry the bigger cup sizes, their bras aren't made for that.
smile55k underwires causing nursing problems is anecdotal, and not actually scientifically proven. I asked about this. My midwife was saying that if I wanted to be extra safe to avoid them for the first 6 weeks. Just throwing that out that.
If I were you I would just go to a store and try on a bunch of different options. I went to Target yesterday to try on some bras, and ended up getting the Basics Women's Stella Maternity & Nursing Bra. I remembered that it had good reviews online...and it is kind of life changing right now. It's so much more comfortable than squeezing into my normal bras. I don't know why I waited so long! The Basics and Bravado lines seem to have pretty good reviews. I'll probably get some more closer to May.
I bought 3 new regular bras from vs, plus 2 pink sports bras, but I used my secret rewards plus blackfriday deals to get them. I went up from a size a to dd, and I am so happy to now have bras that fit. I am hoping to be able to use these new bras until my milk comes in and then I will use a nursing bra. I figure at least I will have these bras for subsequent pregnancies and maybe I can wear them the rest of this pregnancy at least. I also bought maternity underwear, and I love them.
I am no fan of victorias secret. They never have bras that I like for a decent price. I looooove Targets Galligan OMalleys. They are inexpensive, I wash and dry them without damaging them and they are really comfortable.
I bought a nursing bra from Destination maternity. I have no clue what actual size I am now. Prepregnancy I was a 34a. I first bought the small, but had to exchange it for a medium. It's still pretty uncomfortable...I could have used a large. It was $21 I think, but I'm not a fan.

Ugh VS. I do not like that place. A lingerie store that doesn't carry bra sizes for all? Frustrating! I actually have gift card from my bridal shower that I've never used because I never enter that place.
I bought two bras from Motherhood Maternity, and I love them. They are nursing bras by Jessica Simpson. I have worn them so much that price doesn't bother me because the comfort is totally worth it to me.
