Happy Friday! Who's ready for the weekend?! Any big plans?
I hit a new low yesterday. I finally got LO down for a nap (why must he fight them so hard?) and hooked myself up to this wretched pump. After about 5 minutes, I got a bloody nose. No biggie. 2 minutes later LO is screaming from the swing. So I shoved a tissue up my nose, grabbed my pump with one hand, and sat on the floor trying to calm LO down with my other free hand. Super glamorous!
Hugs ladies! Being a mom is just soooo glamorous, right? Ha!
I'm sitting up with G to help with her reflux. She spit up twice yesterday morning and choked on it so I called the dr for some Zantac. He's reluctant to prescribe it as she is having weight gain. Sooooo, we sit upright for 30 min after eating. She just loves it
I have my pp checkup this evening and my baby brother has a basketball game tonight. Tomorrow, I'm getting my skunk tail colored. Ahhhhh, I can't wait for some pampering!
Yesterday was the first time I have changed LO's diaper in public. Normally we have been doing "hit and run" outings where LO is fed and changed before we leave the house and we get back home before the next feed/change cycle.
LO decided it was a good time for a dirty diaper before her pediatrician visit. I had to change her at the MD's office in a single user bathroom. Next challenge - changing her at Target or CostCo. I'm dreading coming to the situation where there is no baby changing table.
Hallelujah! LO just slept from 10:30- 5!!!!! I'm in total shock, he's never done this before.
I'm trying to figure out what we did differently and there were two major things. Normally he sleeps in a bassinet placed in his crib, but we took it out last night as he's getting a little big for it, so it was straight crib sleep. Also, DH have him a bottle of pumped milk at about 10 when LO was pretty sleepy. I guess it sort of acted like a dream feed and kept LO full until now.
Unfortunately I couldn't sleep the whe time as I was worried something was wrong, but it's still the most sleep nice gotten since we had LO!
Oh the glam life of motherhood! Yesterday I stepped in a pile of chewed up grapes and cleaned up spilled milk 3 times at supper from the toddlers.
I agree, those spurts should come with a nanny. I also think my the time a child is 18 mon little cleaning fairies should just hover around them. My time would be so much better spent if I didn't have to peel stickers off the floor.
So DH and I just DTD and it was awful. He wakes me up in the motn and the lube is nowhere to be found ( because who knows the last time it was needed). It was AWFUL. Luckily it was quick. But now I'm up pumping because my body is used to the girls being emptied once I wake up.
I was really hoping my parents would help with packing this weekend (I just need someone to hold LO) but they decided to spend my last weekend here in Boston! I honestly don't think they really thought about it, but still kinda sad.
On a different note LO is having a tough time eating this morning because of his stuffy nose. I used the nose frida and got lots of boogies out but he's still struggling
@gldnbearz you're lucky you've had changing tables! Every time I take LO to the dr I have to change his diaper a minimum of 2 times. Idk what it is about that place but he loves to go. And they have no changing tables. Luckily I carry one of those mat things with me to lay down lol
@LivInCA I pm'd you back! Sorry it took me so long. I'm mobile and don't get notifications
That is awesome @AnnieRoo13 hopefully LO keeps that trend going. I know that when my LO sleeps longer I wake up in a panic thinking "Why hasn't she woke up yet?" then I lay there waiting to either fall back asleep or until she actually wakes up. It will be nice when LO starts to be consistent with her sleep at night.
Big plans for the weekend me and LO are going to my best friend's DD birthday party so that should be fun. Then other then that watching football. GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also something random today. Since I have come back from marterinty leave at work there is this one lady who is very eerily nice to me all of a sudden. Before I even left she never talked to me (or anyone else in my office, even though she use to be in our office before she got a new position) I think it might have to do with the position she is in because it only last two years and that's up right about now then she will have to come back to a clerk job (unless she applies and gets a foreman job) But since she was hired before me she can knock me out of job position and I would have to go to another job position of someone that was hired after me. So it makes me wonder if that is the reason she is being so nice because she is about to take away my job. But it is very creepy
LO is super congested and we narrowly avoided an ER trip last night due to a fever of 100.2 (100.4 requires immediate visit to office or ER according to our Ped). So now we're waiting for the office to open this morning.
I'm already tired of all the sickness this winter and it's only the beginning of January ugh!
No big plans for me this weekend. DH is working daylight, so I plan to take Gio out to visit my parents, my sis, and her 9 month old. It supposed to be in the teens for a high, and windy. That sucks. They live about an hour from me, so when I go visit, I try to stay awhile. I need to get groceries too. We are just about out of bread and milk. I need to come up with some meal ideas for next week too. That should consume my entire weekend. Saturday is supposed to be our last bitterly cold day though....starting Sunday we are supposed to be back in the 30's. I might go outside in a tshirt after these 0 degrees days.

Argh DH and I wanted to go to the movies tonight but our only babysitter MIL has a severe cold so that's out.
Um why must DH want sex when the kiddos are up does he not get that sneaking off to our room will not work when we have a 3yr old who follows me around the house constantly. Come on DH stop thinking with the little head lol
Jack was a whiney dick pretty much all day yesterday, but he gave me a 6 hour stretch of sleep followed by a 3 he stretch last night, so I GUESS I forgive him...lol
I need some advice on how to pick up friends lol. I just found out my next door neighbour has a baby that's a few weeks older than my LO (hubby saw her outside a couple weeks ago and she asked if we had a baby then shared her news...usually we are like boats passing in the night because DH and I are commuters...) Anyways, I think it would be nice to have a mommy friend right next door, but I'm not sure how to re-introduce myself...I honestly don't even remember her name from when we introduced ourself when we moved into the neighbourhood. Without knowing her name I feel like I'd be such an ass to, like, knock on her door. I honestly feel like a teenage boy trying to think of an "opener" lol. Advice? Lol
Anyone planning to take LO to a beach vacation this summer? I REALLY want to go to the beach this summer, but I am afraid I may be biting off more than I can chew. We are in PA, so Ocean city is about 7 hours away. I figure he would be around 7-8 months when we would go.....so he would probably be trying to eat the sand by then. :-/

Question: how do you define "poopy diaper?" Every single one of our son's diapers is a poopy diaper. He doesn't have a lot of full diapers, but every diaper has poop in it. There has maybe been one diaper in the last six weeks that was just a pee diaper. Is this normal? How should I count poopy diapers when I go to the ped's office?

I hate the beach because I hate sand so I am not useful, but...my sister has the CUTEST picture of my nephew at the beach when he was about that big with his face and mouth filled with sand. He's 3 1/2 now and seemingly fine.
@Curlyfries851 Try something along the lines of, "Hey, I don't know if you remember from when we moved in, but my name is _____."
This is brilliant...it implies she ALSO forgets my name (which she probably does) and playfully gets her to say her name again lol. This is why I like you! Lol
@mander82 I took DS when he was 8 months and did great. The worst part was that he started cutting teeth and was a bit fussy, other than that, we had fun! We are planning a summer beach trip and will have about 12 hours in the car over 2 days.
@gldnbearz I change diapers in the car often! The public changing tables kind of creep me out, so it's easier for me to use the back seat. I've also changed DS in the stroller. You learn to get creative!
Why is LO leaking out of every single diaper? We CD and I don't have the brain power to figure out what is wrong. It's frustrating.
I have decided that I'm going to the library tomorrow... Alone! H can have some time with M that doesn't include following me around while holding him or knocking on the bathroom door to make sure I'm okay if I take more than 5 minutes.

@Mmmpopcorn Same here about the diapers! Pretty much every diaper has a little bit of poop in it. To count a "dirty diaper" I have been told if it's bigger than the size of a loonie you can consider it a dirty diaper.
@MmmPopcorn are you by chance not Canadian? Do you know what a loonie is?
We have LO's car seat in the middle of the back seat of a Mazda 3 sedan. I've tried to lie her down. Doesn't seem to be enough room to get the job done.
@oklahomamom09 I love my pediatrician's office. I asked them if the public restroom outside their office had a changing table and they had me come into the exam room area bathroom even though it wasn't time for our appointment yet.
@gldnbearz I've changed him on the beds too, lol seems like every time they check his temp in his butt he goes. Our dr office is super small tho, she only has two rooms and is always packed so I don't have that option unless we are already back there lol
@WildFlower810 I have heard that about the Charlie Bananas (loose leg elastic). Have you tried moving up half a size? I've done that with our BG 4.0s by snapping the diaper unevenly by moving over one row on just one side. It looks stupid, but it works. I'm not sure how it would work on the CB diapers, but maybe it would help?
@MmmPopcorn I don't have the half-a-size option right now because we were using the crossover snap, then moved to the smallest non-crossover size. It was a jump of two snaps, but that's what we had to do. Idk if that even makes sense if you're not familiar with the CB diapers. How are you liking the Bum Genius brand? I have 4 elementals that I've not gotten out of the package and am considering selling just because the CB are working so well (other than the leaks).
@WildFlower810 I really like the BG brand. Another option that has worked for us is the Thirsties pocket diaper (specifically the velcro type). The legs are phenomenally leakproof. But both of those are more expensive than the CB diapers. DS has skinny legs, so I'm glad we didn't end up using the CB, but if they work for you, use them! They're cheaper.
Last day of my first week back. I guess I am not used to staring at spreadsheets all day. I feel so run down. So excited to spend the weekend with my little bear!

I don't have any weekend plans that are too exciting. Taking the kids out to lunch with my mom tomorrow.
Is this the freaking 6 week growth spurt? My child will not sleep and is
comfort sucking my nipple off. Ahhhhh.

Up with both boys. I was feeding LO when ds1 came out scared because he had a "bad dream". So now he's curled up on the couch watching cartoons

@uncharted01 That. Is. Amazing. A perfect storm of sorts!
@flutterbuggie Yay new friend/extended family member!!! I really hope you two hit it off and you have ALL THE PLAY DATES
@targetpopcornmomma Babies coming with a nanny?!?! Brilliant. But it sounds like delivery would be even more of a nightmare. :P
@gldnbearz I haven’t had to do this yet, but I hear the back seat of the car makes a good mobile changing table.
Congrats, @AnnieRoo13 on your sleep!
@bethas Happy Birthday to DS1!!!!!
We have our first music class this weekend. I am so excited to sing, dance and play instruments while LO stares off into space or sleeps!
Edit: spacing
That is awesome @AnnieRoo13 hopefully LO keeps that trend going. Okay, good, I wasn't sure! I know not everyone knows about our funny money. I mean how many countries have a coin called a loonie!?
Best/longest night of sleep in our house yet! Also most engorged boobies EVER but it was so worth it. I feel like a new woman.
