sorry if this kind of thread already exists, but I didn't find one, so.....

did you have symptoms or any other reason to KNOW you were expecting before you tested and got your BFP??

  • riderchik....  I so totally didn't even get that for like the first minute I looked at your comment... then it took me an additional minute to pick myself off the floor after laughing myself silly.  yah... perhaps I should have hamed the  post something different!  I'm new on here.  is there a way I can edit the name lol!!

  • I felt nauseous and just off. I wasn't enjoying my wine and then I ate sushi and it didn't taste right, it confirmed I must be pregnant. Took a test and sure enough!

  • I suspected because my temps were staying high, but I didn't know for sure until I took the test.

  • I remember getting some cramps but they felt different than period cramps. I tested pretty early and didn't expect anything but lo and behold there was a faint line. Didn't think we'd be so lucky for it to happen so quick.

  • 7-8dpo I just had this little feeling inside me that I was and was feeling a little more heartburn than normal after eating pasta for dinner. Idk, maybe it was slightly in my head but I really did have a feeling I might be!

  • I knew because my BBT stayed high well after ovulation. I decided to test when I suddenly had an aversion to coffee (which I used to drink in abundance, so I knew something was up).

  • WELL after we DTD DH said I think you might be pregnant. I didn't think too much into it because according to my FF and other things I hadn't even ovulated yet . But my  cycles are usually 4 weeks to the day. The day I was supposed to start AF my boobs were crazy sore and I was having cramps. Not like your norm AF cramps . And I wwas just feeling off so I kind of had an idea I was.

  • Yep. I had been feeling off, heartburn and the such, and kept testing and testing and testing. Then, tried to convice DH I saw a line on one test, he didn't believe me - a week and a half later here we are 6 weeks along. I laugh, but I should punch him for making fun of my intuition. Also, if I tested twice when I was already three and then four weeks pregnant why didnt it show up? Come on pg test you had one job!
  • I had a strong suspicion. I had been feeling nauseous several evenings in a row about a week before AF was due, and got my BFP the first time I tested.

Having said that, I was convinced I was pregnant 2 months ago too and took about 10 tests. I felt exactly the same as when I got pregnant the first time. However the first time I got pregnant it was my first cycle off BC, so looking back a lot of symptoms I thought were due to pregnancy must have been due to getting off BC.

  • I swear it was the week after conception that my boobs were more sore than ever. We had been trying for a few months so I suspected immediately. Also it was too early for period boob pain. I tested 2 days before I was due (which was Dec 23rd) and got a faint positive. We found out for sure Christmas Day when I didn't start my period. I am now 6 weeks and 2 days!
  • I always know when I'm pregnant. I start feeling odd a day or so before I can turn a test (about 11/12 DPO)
    BFP #1 - Mango - 6/11/12, EDD 2/22/12 Natural MC 7/15/12

All testing shows both H and I are perfectly normal. Baby Nacho had triploidy.

  • I had kind of a tight feeling in my lower abdomen for about a week before I tested positive. Not quite cramps, more like sore muscles. That combined with extreme thirst and brief waves of dull nausea made me pretty sure I was going to test positive. Buuuuut, there have been more than a few months where I was similarly convinced that I was pregnant and ended up getting my period. So I would not have been shocked if it had all been in my head.

  • Ironically, the day I conceived my grandfather commented on how big my hips were in a omg you are a woman now. Two days later, my grandmother told me to drive safe because her great grandchild was in there.

Actual ways I knew: I'm very sensitive to my body. All the women in my family are. I felt my O, and I felt implantation. The latter was an intense cramp that last 30 seconds and completely disappeared followed by a night of gas. I've has gas cramps before. This was different. But then the next night my dinner made me slightly queasy. Did not think much of it. Tyr next morning, i was making breakfast for my dogs, and the smell of their kibble made me throw up. That's when I knew. I tested bfn that morning, but bfp that afternoon and since. :)
  • DH knew I was KU! He called it a week before I took a test because I became so forgetful. I threw my keys away one day and locked them in the car at Walmart the next day! Lol
  • Oh and my breaststroke stayed full. They look good around O but then kind of look blah all the other days. This month, they looked pretty darn nice and still do buahaga

    Felt implantation? Srsly?

THIS ! My last pregnancy I had implantation bleeding , which occurs at a totally different time . But at the time I had no clue what it was.... I don't think you can feel implantation .....

This thread is making me do a lot of side-eyeing.

Side-eyeing? This is clearly meant to be condescending and rude which doesn't surprise me considering some of the snarkiness I've seen on these boards. Some of us are first time Moms who have never been through any of this and need somewhere to come to relate to other women. I'm so sorry if our ignorance is offensive to you. Maybe have a little consideration.
  • Obviously at the time I did not know for sure it was implantation. I just thought it was a bad cramp. I actually picked up my phone to call to see if I should go to the ER, but by the time I got to the options the cramp subsided. Considering I got my first BFP almost 48 hours to the dot after, it was one week after DTD and O, and fits with my due date. you can be skeptical. But you also are not me. And I'll acknowledge it could have just been coincidence, but isn't it more fun to think that maybe just maybe you knew you were pregnant the moment it happened? Also, I bfp at 8 dpo. My period was due 1/11. I was not even planning to test at all this month because we were NTNP and only DTD once with holiday vacationing. It just happened to be the wee early morning hours of the day I Oed.
  • I don't know why you two feel the need to be so rude and negative on a thread that was advertised as just for fun. There are people out there who are very in tune with their bodies, and I'm sorry that you are not one of them. It's a great feeling when you know every flutter, every beat, every twinge your body makes.

    Snarky? A bit. Rude? No.

First-time mom here, and I'm side-eyeing the hell out of a lot of these comments myself. This is a public forum, not a blog, and everyone can comment their opinions as they see fit.

I have felt that way as well but I don't feel the need to call people out on it. I imagine (due to certain comments) that there are women that don't want to post what they're feeling due to the ridicule they'll receive which isn't right. That's why we're here, to be able to relate to what others are going through.

The eleventy thousand threads asking about gas, implantation pains, and praying for BFPs shows otherwise.

    Wow.

    Wow.

Since when does getting informed about how your body works = ridicule?

Many ladies here have an extreme wealth of knowledge and when someone wanders on in like "just trust me, K.  I am the only human being on planet earth who can tell I am pregnant before I am actually pregnant because I know, trust me!" OR "I had such an extreme cramp I almost went to the ER I am 100% positive it was implantation, I know it!" we feel the need to at least share the SCIENCE with them that this is IMPOSSIBLE or HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

Oh come on, you know exactly the ridicule I'm talking about. I understand where you guys are coming from but you don't need to make people feel bad about themselves while "educating" them. I am going to excuse myself from the back and forth with everyone on this board and hope that everyone can be a little more understanding.
  • I had no symptoms other than my usual PMS symptoms.  The only reason I bothered to test is because my BBT went up after it reached coverline at 10dpo.  By 12dpo it was back to post-O temps, and I was curious.

    But no, I didn't just *feel* pregnant.  I still don't :/

That sounds god-awful to me, actually. But my body never flutters, so I guess that's just as well.

If I didn't temp I honestly still would have no clue I was pregnant, but it was a pleasant surprise after a nice holiday with my family (including some naughty "I hope my parents are asleep cause we have some baby-making to do" sex).

  • Nope I had no clue. Drank like a fish up until New Year's Eve night when I thought I should take a test because I was late and didn't want to get smashed if I was. If I monitored my symptoms insanely and charted everything I probably could have come up with some weird cramp or twinge or something to convince myself I was when it was just my body being my body and having random cramps or twinges because honestly whose body doesn't.
  • A few days prior to testing I had some twinges and pinches that were not common, and I was exhausted, so I had my suspicions.
