I LOOOOVE reading all of the meet-up stories!!! H's and mine is just sooooo boring; sometimes I wish we had that random/funny/fairy-tale to tell to kids/grandkids when they grow up.
Side note too - my sister met her husband (just got married in October) on Match and one of her good friends gave her a bunch of shit about meeting someone on the internet, blah blah blah. WTF? Gah that made me so freakin angry that she did that. Luckily she got her senses straight.
Very good friends of mine really railed on me for meeting MH in real life after meeting him on the internet. I don't really know anyone who didn't think I was out of my mind. I don't see how it's that different than meeting someone in a bar.
This is so stupid though! (not meeting online or in a bar, just the judgement), SOSSSSSSOOOOOO many people meet online! I can't even imagining side-eyeing that over the last few years.
Now, in high school when we would meet people off of myspace and areyouhotornot well, then, yea. But ya know....high school.
Rants/Raves/Etc: When women who have had TTTC get pregnant and all of a suddenly are full of complaints about being pregnant (the acne, the bloating, sensitive smell, unable to drink coffee/wine/cold cuts of meat etc..) and how hard it is..... BE THANKFUL! Many women would give ANYTHING to be in your shoes.. morning sickness and all. ~~ rant over
GTKY: How did you and your SO meet?
He knew who I was through my older brothers.. we ran into each other at a bar and he asked me to dance, we partied and stayed up all night. The next day, he surprised me and dropped off breakfast and a coffee at my work (knowing how hung over I would be) and asked me out for dinner that night. We've been BF's ever since
So because they are pregnant they can't complain because they aren't grateful? Bullshit and shame on you for this.
I was a premie born at 26 werks and long story short shouldn't be here but I beat the odds....does this mean I have no right to complain at all because then I'm not grateful for having survived?
@nandaboob06 I fucking love you. I would've responded to her but I'm too busy trying to poop for the first time in days and not vomit at the same time...

:-??
I don't think it matters where we meet anyone so long as we're happy. I'd been using online dating since 2004, so it always seemed normal to me. I guess that happens when you've already spent years in AOL chat rooms (and yes, that does make me feel OLD).

I guess I see it like this - for women who struggle to get pregnant, it's like walking across a parking lot of broken glass. And then, when they finally are pregnant and have all kinds of symptoms that make life miserable, it's like going from the parking lot of broken glass into a parking full of puddles of alcohol. Like, getting there was so hard, why couldn't things be just a little easier? I am quite sure that they are VERY thankful to be pregnant but I think we'd all prefer that things not be SO hard all the time.

Rants/Etc: this is my first time posting here. I have been lurking for a while and trying to feel it out. I am really annoyed because I have been told temping won't work since I have narcolepsy (I never fully go to sleep with out medication which isn't recommended while ttc. So, I never get a full rem cycle and Temps would be all over the place.) I am using OPK'S, and checking cm. I just think tracking temps is the best. Also, I would love a glass of red wine right now!
GTKY: DH and I met in college. We were instantly best friends. That lasted 2 years before we were finally single at the same time, and decided to try taking things to the next level. That was almost 6 years ago. There is really isn't anything better than being married to your best friend (except maybe having a baby with him)
