Frequent Doctors Appointments

So I got a call yesterday from the nurse at my doctors office saying that for the duration of my pregnancy I will have 2 appointments per week! That seems like ALOT. I was expecting to go to once a week very soon but twice a week, sheesh.  I have polyhydramnios (spelling?) and fibroids so my doctor wants to monitor the last several weeks very closely.  I'm actually happy to get checked so often then I don't have to worry but I will be making a lot of trips.  Is anyone else making 2 trips per week to the doctors office??

I will be having a NT scan 2x per week and a BPP 1x a week.

Re: Frequent Doctors Appointments

  • On twice a week appointments with my ob and once with MFM. Makes my work schedule a real joy to deal with.

  • yea, it is a bit of a pain with work. My job and docs office are about 45 minutes apart.  Thankfully it looks like they will be able to schedule all of the appts at the end of the day so I will miss minimal time in the office.

  • With my last pregnancy I would go twice a week. Mondays I had a NST and Thursdays I had an ultrasound and doctors visit. It was a pain but loved seeing my little one every week
  • Twice a week here too! Have a BPP with my OB tomorrow and a BPP on Monday with the MFM. I have high bp.
  • Yes twice a week for me too. Plus ultrasounds sprinkled in. I am on the cusp of Polyhydramnios so they want to frequently monitor me. Work has been really accommodating but I can't help but feel bad for missing so much work. Hang in there :)
  • I'm seen twice weekly for pregnancy induced hypertension. My office does a Tueday/Friday rotation for us twice a weekers. I typically have an AFI ultrasound on Tuesdays followed by an NST and then Fridays just an NST and check. Thankfully I'm on maternity leave from my hypertension already and only a 5 minute drive to the OB office so it's not too overbearing.
  • IMO, totally worth the hassle if it's going to keep your LO healthy.

  • I see my doc twice a week, 1-2x weekly nst, if they allow me to continue this pregnancy I will get weekly ultrasounds and specialist appnts until 37 weeks when I will deliver. I also get blood taken Tuesdays and Fridays. This has been going on for a few weeks with me. It is a lot of appointments but worth it to make sure baby and momma are ok.
  • Wow, its kinda cool to know theres so many others in the same boat.  I'm actually looking forward to the first apt next week. :-)

  • My last pregnancy, one of my twins was IUGR so I went to the OB twice a week for NSTs starting at 32 weeks and then MFM once every two weeks for BPPs/ growth u/s/ cord flow doppler.
