Where are you buying your crib?

It may be the pregnancy hormones, but I am going crazy trying to decide on what crib to get. I fell in love with the Jameson Conversion Crib ( https://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod438035&categoryId=rhbc_cat361051 ) from Restoration Hardware. While it is currently 20% off it is still $1300 by the time you get the conversion kit and pay tax, shipping, etc. I realize this is a crazy amount of money to spend on a crib.

There are also a few from Babies R Us that I like as well. Most of those are around $500, but I still prefer the look of Restoration. My husband is quickly loosing patience with my indecisiveness so I am looking for ideas from you ladies. Are any of you considering buying a crib from Restoration? If you are buying your crib elsewhere, where are you getting it from?

Now if anyone has advice on which toddler bed to move my 2 year-old into....

I think were getting the Somerset convertible crib from Bassett. I'm not that picky on cribs. My Mil is getting our crib and she said get any one that I wanted. She orders from Bassett a lot and some girls in her office have gotten cribs from there and they were really nice so I'm good with that. I just want an off white one, that's my only requirement.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • We bought the Kendall crib from Pottery Barn, it was $399.

  • Babies R Us and going with this convertible crib!

  • i ordered the jameson crib from RH during the sale! i fell in love with it and knew that no other crib would stack up. got the dresser too.

  • Bought mine at target, on Clarence  for $150. We were looking at $500-600 cribs, but this one looked just as nice and the quality was very similar.

  • Ours is from Walmart. We didn't get the converter kit/piece. When DD used it as a toddler bed we just took the front rail off and rolled up a blanket so she wouldn't roll out. It was fine.

  • @MrsPDX anytime you get something for over HALF off life is damn good. I definitely don't think you should have buyers remorse. $300 is way more reasonable than $1300. :)

  • I also think the price of the restoration hardware furniture is outrageous... But, I saw the same one, Jameson Conversion, and fell in love! I brought it up to DH, who is the most frugal person I've ever met, about a month ago confessing my crazy. He said if you really love it and nothing else will compare, let's get it. We ordered it in natural along with the wide dresser when they were 20% off and he used gift cards he got at 30% off to pay. This made it more reasonable but still ridiculous. We plan to have three kids, so for that and the fact that they build it upon delivery helped sell DH. Good luck with your decision :)

We bought this, too, in tuscan. Got it for $340, love it.
@mayflowers35 dang, I didn't know there was a sale recently! The lady did give us 10% off since we registered for it so we paid $360 pre-tax but $340 sounds nicer. ;)

  • We were originally going to just get the same crib DS3 is in and get him a toddler bed but I think we may go with IKEA cribs.

  • This is one of those times that I hate living in Alaska. My only local options are either Walmart, which doesn't carry them in stock, or our local furniture store which is crazy $$$. So I have to order a crib online, which means I'll end up picking from the TWO cribs that Amazon will ship for free. Woe is me.
Do you have Amazon Prime? They have a ton of options. :) That is what we are doing. Hubby just settled on this one actually.

  • deziniki I did post an ad on craigslist, and if I do sell it great, if not I am ok with that too. It is a really nice crib (and I do think it is gorgeous), with all conversions included. I just hate the fact that I could have saved $150, I am kind of cheap.. (originally I was convinced in getting it by my MIL and mother, who fell in love with it, and have fancy plans for my nursery).

I loved many of the options in Restoration Hardware & PBK but ended up going with the Munire Medford Convertible Crib on Amazon.com. I registered for our DD's bedding on RH & love it. We have a Prime membership so we got free shipping & we were able to schedule delivery. Good luck with your shopping! I'm sure you will have a beautiful nursery.

  • @beeorange we are going with the sorelle one.  It seems like a few other moms on here have bought that crib and have been happy with it too.  I like the overall look of it and the style fits well with my house!

  • I WAS going to buy the same one as @lgsdesigner‌ but Target is no longer my friend. I saw the crib and dresser in the store, took DH there to show him, finally convinced him to buy it (this was hard work people, as my DH is cheap and was banking on using his sisters outdated one...long story..) DH found a deal on Target.com, where if you spend $500 on certain baby items, you will get a $75 savings. So we go home and place the order online and I spent about 2 hours adding things to my cart that we needed that totaled $500 VERY careful to make sure that they were qualifying items. I selected my Target store to have my crib and dresser sent to for pick up. The next day, I get an email saying that my target isn't available for store pick up and to select a different delivery option. When I selected my store when I ordered, it said it was available. It's apparently out of stock online and the only way to get it is to drive about 2 hours away to another target. I called target.com to cancel the rest of my order, and ask why I wasn't getting the $75 credit. The woman said that the changing table pad that I ordered wasn't eligible for the deal. Yes, it was. I made sure when I added it to my cart! I told her to cancel it and she said she couldn't because it had already been processed. So now, I have no crib or dresser and will be getting $200 in merchandise that I will be returning to the store! I love target, but this situation has made me mad!!!

So now, I'm back at square one. Sorry for the long comment, but if any of you are planning to take advantage of target.com's "special"...buyer beware!
  • I love RH cribs but I decided I want to spend the big bucks on a dresser and glider so it's between these two (buy buy baby and diapers.com). I REALLY wanted the caravan crib In black - kalon studios but anything extra (the black) really racks up the price and shipping is $$$

Yes but they still won't ship most large items to Alaska :(. If you look at the shipping info on 99% of their cribs it says "ships to 48 contiguous states only."

It actually just occurred to me that Walmart does site-to-store shipping, so I'll probably end up ordering from them.
That is such crap! I am sorry!! :(

I believe we are going with something from Baby's Dream. I wanted to go the "Made in America" route but didn't want to spend thousands of dollars doing so. Now we just need to decide which one to go with.

  • We bought a white crib from Ikea.  Sleek and modern looking plus it was a good value! :)

  • I fell in love with a $700 pottery barn crib, but found a delta version online at Walmart for $140!
  • I got mine from Pottery Barn Kids.  They were having a nursery event after Christmas and it was $200 off its original price with no delivery surcharge.  That's why I have it already.  It's currently sitting in two boxes (one for the mattress) behind the couch.

@Brittanyg713‌ We got Baby Appleseed Davenport furniture at Buy Buy Baby. Gorgeous and sturdy. The crib comes with the toddler rails but the full size bed rails are additional. We were able to use 20% off buy buy baby and bed bath beyond coupons for each piece. We ended up with the crib, full bed rails, double dresser, hutch, and nightstand for about $2500 for everything. I think the crib is around $699 alone.

Edited to add the link to the brand:

  • Mine's a $100 crib from IKEA with a good mattress. They're only in it for a couple years and I'd rather spend money on the regular bed they'll have for a long time.

  • I bought my crib from Bassett Furniture 12 years ago for my first child and I'll be using it for this one (my third). It's incredibly sturdy and well built in cherry wood. I want to say I paid $500-600 when I bought it, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat, I'm that pleased with it. I did order replacement hardware this time around as I could not find the hardware that goes with it.
