TTC After a Loss

Intro...

Hi ladies!

When I was 8 weeks pregnant, I started having slight Brown spotting the day before my first ultrasound. I knew something wasn't right. During my ultrasound no fetus was able to be detected. About an hour later I started bleeding and that's when my natural miscarriage happened. It was traumatic and heartbreaking. Because I had a blighted ovum, the doc told us that we could start TTC as soon as the bleeding stopped. The bleeding stopped 3 weeks ago and we started shortly thereafter. I am happy to be surrounded by other moms that have experienced loss, because many of my friends don't understand.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this board!

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

Are you going to move forward with a natural miscarriage? I'm sorry for your loss as well. They told me that the risk of a blighted ovum again on the next pregnancy is extremely low.

Have you had a negative HPT yet? One doc said try right away and the other said to wait until after my period for dating purposes.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. I also lost my baby around 8 weeks (although the baby had stopped developing around 6 1/2 weeks, unbeknownst to me). It was a missed miscarriage and I opted for a D&C.

It's the hardest and worst thing I've ever been through. The women on this board have helped me tremendously, and I hope you find comfort and support here too. A lot of my friends in real life don't understand what I'm going through either— no one really does until they experience one.

"Everybody here has got a story to tell. Everybody's been through their own hell. There's nothing too special about getting hurt, but getting over it that takes the work. Because one way or another, we all need each other. Nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover because everything comes out the way it should in the end." -Glen Phillips, "Duck and Cover"
