A long time ago a friend of mine told me that when she had her baby, one of her friends brought her a 6 pack of beer and a large cheese pizza. She said she ate the entire pizza! I think I will want something like that
I don't think I can commit to any meal this early on. My cravings seem to be spontaneous and very random so I'm sure after birth something will be sounding yummy. It will probably involve a coke with extra ice. Luckily I have an 18 yr old sister that I can count on to go get me whatever I want so DH can stay by my side. (I'm a huge baby I don't think I would let him leave me).
All I want is a delicious Cesar salad! My whole family had been told that I really would enjoy a Cesar salad after I give birth so I'm hoping one of them will bring it to me. Or I may send DH to pick one up.
This is something that hasn't even crossed my mind and Im now realizing how truely unprepared I am ....... Im thinking a medium rare steak and beer mmmmm
I'm due in the beginning of April and one cousin had promised to bring me corn beef and cabbage and beer if I go 2 weeks early (St. Patrick's Day). I mentioned the topic to dh and he piped up "I'm bringing you Five Guys" so that's cool too.
My SO and best friend will be doing some food runs for me! There's a shop immediately opposite the hospital which sells the best turkey and brie sandwiches i've ever eaten! I bet after 9 months of not having one they'll taste even better.
With my first I had planned on ordering out. However, I found the menu at the hospital was fine and i did not crave anything at that point. Our third was in the NICU for 2 weeks so we spent a lot of time at the hospital. it was nice of the hospital to prove all our meals and a room during that 2 week stay, even though I was discharged. We did go out one day to a local restaurant. We just needed some different scenery.
Nope , here if things are all ok you go home 4-6 hrs after depending what time you give birth ! So I probably won't have time !
My birth center is the same way, but since my first was born 9 minutes until midnight and they didn't need my room, we were given the option to stay longer. Maybe this would be the case with you. Plus 6 hrs is a long time to wait to eat after you deliver a baby.
I'm packing a bottle of champagne in my hospital bag. Maybe some wine too. The hospital is located across from a mall and lots of restaurants. I'll just go with whatever I am craving when the time comes.
Nope, I'll be fine with hospital food. After my first I remember being so hungry and distracted that anything would have been delicious, and anything special would have been lost on me. I'll save my "special" post birth meal for when we're home.
This was exactly me last time. So this time I am planning a feast for when I get home.
I remember thinking about this the last time. I had a c section and was in the hospital for 4 days, my family brought my husband food, but I ate every meal in the hospital. I didn't anticipate this but I was on autopilot, with the pain management and lack of sleep, and the nurse always took my lunch order at breakfast and dinner order at lunch so I really didn't give it much thought. I did sent my husband out for soda and sharp cheddar at one point, but really didn't think about having a really good meal until a month post partum, I had so much going on with recovery and breast feeding and lack of sleep. I think it might be nice to plan something now to look forward to! All of your ideas sound delish!
After my first I had an Italian hero which was amazing and then ate the cheeseburger from the hospital too! I was very hungry. Probably something similar this time too

A15 January Siggy Challenge-
Really yummy right now- even though it's like 10 degrees out and high winds.
