Ugh, joining you other ladies that were back to work this morning. Cue lots of tears and lots of hugs from the daycare ladies and other mommies as I was walking out. Also lots of hugs when I got to work (a 1/2 hour late...oops!). Hope everyone's day is going as quickly as it can be! It's dragging for me.
@bethas I am actually crying happy tears for you. Moments like that, when you know you're really making an impact in their lives, are the reason we teach. You don't just have three kids: you've helped raise hundreds!
Watched videos of DS during pumping and cried. Everyone has been so awesome. I have my own little designated office for pumping. There is a huge window overlooking the lake. It is quite peaceful. Just 4 more hours. I miss my little Bear. I keep tearing up :-(

Aw, I'm feeling for all you ladies who have to go back to work! Big hugs to you!!
Last night R was up every hour ... Normally he sleeps really well, and he wasn't hungry, just extra congested, I'm really hoping he isn't coming down with something! Though we were at my parents over New Year's, and my little sister got sick, so...:( Also... Anyone else off of dairy because of LO's allergy? I am and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to eat! My go to snacks were cheese, milk, yogurt, but now my source of quick protein is gone and one can only eat so much peanut butter!!
I've had a really good morning with the kids. Gabby was an angel (I think she missed daycare as much as we did), and Louie slept through drop off, a trip to the post office, and a shower.I even shaved my legs. I have laundry going right now, and hope to get a walk in this afternoon. I was worried about today, since H was home all last week and most of the week before, but so far so good.
Ugh, this sucks so bad. I'm back to work today, and working from home this week. It might be worse - I can hear how miserable my little girl is and what they're not doing to soothe her. I'm trying really hard to let them learn her behavior without hovering but jeeeeezus. How long will we both be bawling before this gets any easier?

Working mom group hug, y'all!
This is exactly what I was afraid of working from home and why we chose a daycare versus a home nanny. Sounds so hard. Thinking of you!!!!
Now I just spend all day *wondering* if she is crying and they are not doing the right thing to soothe her.
I forgot the best part--Gabby picked an outfit that doesn't make her look like a colorblind monkey dressed her! I love that she wants to pick out her clothes, but she generally has the fashion sense of a toddler, and I know the other parents at daycare probably question my sanity (the teachers get it)!

I know exactly what you mean with this. I let my 3 year old dress herself, and I'm sure I get judged for some of her outfits. For preschool today, she wore her pink sparkly Easter dress and pink sweatpants with Disney princesses on them, so at least she sort of matched (in color, if not in style of clothes), but some days her outfits are a little out there. Then as soon as we got home, she changed into her Christmas pajamas, and then she put on her Minnie Mouse nightgown to go pick up her brother from school. She also has two pairs of shoes that are the same style but different colors that she likes to mix and match; I figure as long as she has the right shoe on the right foot, she's fine.
Lots of strength to everyone back at work (by the time I post this, your day is probably almost over)! @bethas I love that your kids appreciate you so much! I have an irrational fear that my students would rather the sub and will be mad when I get back (4 weeks from tomorrow)
@targetpopcornmomma A is the cutest ever. Glad your appointment went pretty well.
Here's my random question...are Yankee Candles ok to burn around the LO? I had one burning today for about an hour but then crazy FTM thoughts came to me and I blew it out and opened all the windows (even though it's 20 degrees outside)!
Hope all you mamas who went back to work today had a good day! Hug those babies extra long tonight.
I had been told I was due back to work this coming Wednesday, and was lucky enough to get a call on Friday that it was actually a week from Wednesday that I'm due back (which was what I had thought, but I wasn't 100% sure at the time). Woo Hoo for one more week with my babe!
Also, I got approval today to have off from February 6th through the 16th to drive down to Florida. My in-laws live there, and no one with the exception of my MIL hasn't had the chance to meet pretty lady yet! I'm so excited and so are they! We're driving from NY, with stops in Cary, NC (my husbands aunt and uncle live there) and Charleston, SC (my MILs whole family lives there)@Lilwatz I'll send you a message a little closer to and maybe we'll get a chance to meet up!

DH did his first MOTN feeding last night since he went back to work. He just let me know he has a stomach ache and head ache from not sleeping asked I understood what he was talking about.
Our plan all along has been for me to stay home with LO well we just found out today that its not going to be possible!!!! I am so upset about this! Now I have to find work ASAP ( and daycare. I can't fathom having to leave LO with anyone, he has not been away from me sense he was born!
So work sucked....apparently IT turned my computer account back on but not my email account. I didn't have full access to my emails til 3:30....so I spent half the day working with IT to get my shit up and running right. I had to get all the employees time cards straightened out for the last pay period..which covered the holidays and was a total train wreck....I still didn't have time to pee and eat right...that's really all I looked forward to today. Maybe tomorrow.
LO doesn't really seem to care that I am home either. He smiled at me once, then spit up. Lol....so it wasn't even meant for me!
He is trying to poop now and he isn't too happy about it. I really hope this formula isn't making him constipated.

I need to cook dinner and FI is snoring away. LO slept from 3-5:30 ate for 10 minutes and is out again. I'm afraid he's gunna wake up in the middle of cooking hamburger steak

So sorry that things aren't working out like you planned. I'm struggling with the thought of returning to work, but that's always been my plan. I can't imagine how much harder it would be if I was planning to stay at home. Can you do part time?
Anyone else in need of a new wardrobe?? None of my prepregnancy clothes fit. My jeans seem like they belonged to another body entirely. I'm just going to suck it up and go buy some new stuff for work, a couple pairs of jeans, so I feel good at least ... I'm tired of looking at my maternity clothes!!
7 weeks pp lost 30 lbs almost immediately and was left with 20
@kstirton I need all new pants and pencil skirts. My aline skirts are now all high waisted if i plan on wearing them in the future. Thankfully my skirts were plenty long enough that I can still wear them this way.
@kstirton That is so me. I lost about 25 right off the bat, but still have 20 more to go to get back to prepregnancy weight. I went and bought 4 new pair of jeans. Sizes I never even considered before. I refused to wear maternity clothes back to work and my old jeans aren't even close to fitting yet.
I started cutting out junk food. I will get serious come spring time.

Dang. Starting my new workout routine tomorrow after my postpartum doctors appointment... Tried on my sports bra tonight and of course it doesn't fit. Not sure why I thought it might. Now I need to buy new ones tomorrow after my appointment and it's supposed to be 3 degrees at 10am (Fahrenheit for those not in the US

@sweetbabyrahe I could possibly do part time. However I have no idea what I will do for work. My previous work has been in law enforcement and going back into that profession is scary with a new baby!!!! (and everything that is going on these days). I feel very trapped in this profession and don't know what else I can do.
I just got two massive boogers out of LO's nose. Feeling very accomplished
I find this so satisfying, like when you get a big zit. Kinda gross, and not something I would admit IRL
Exactly! I didn't even tell DH. He wouldn't understand. That's why I'm glad I have you girls
I got a big one out last night. I immediately ran to the bathroom and showed DH. We were so impressed it came from such a little baby. He finally said, "Ok...throw it away now!!"
@zengal I'm doing boot camp twice a week starting next week with a couple of my friends. We can do it! Also, I need to AW :-). LO turned 2 months yesterday! Time is flying by way too fast!

Haha. Oh the joys of motherhood.
I'm also in serious need of some new pants, my body is just weird right now.
