  • If you look in the birth announcements thread you'll see that there have been a couple of preterm births. All of the moms who are part of the community have continued to update us and let us know that their babies are doing well. Preterm births ate always risky and scary but baby has a good, fighting chance. I hope that your LO decides to stay put until after 37 weeks though.

  • Thank you very much .

Yes it is , sorry about my english :-).
  • Yes i think the best medicine is not to stress.
    Thank you ;;)
  • I've had friends and family members that have been dilated up to 4cm for weeks and not had labor start spontaneously. It could mean something or it might not. Try to relax, your little while be here when they are ready.

  • Can you explain to me something , the Doctor said to me that im dilated one and half finger ,how many Cm could that mean .
Thank you very much for ur answer and ur time all the best
  • I don't know what this means. I've only heard terminology such as fingertip, 1cm, 2cm...

My uneducated guess would be 1-2cm. You could always call your office and ask.

Depends on how big the doctor's fingers are. For some doctors two fingers is 3-4 cm, for others, 1-2, depends on the doctor.

If you are not having contractions or pain or loss of fluids, you're not in labor. Labor is the productive change of the cervix in response to contractions. I'm guessing they think you're at risk of pre-term delivery based on factors other than your exam today. The kid is going to come when he/she comes and you need to be in contact with your provider closely until that happens. Stay hydrated and get some rest.
