Laziest thing you have done during pregnancy?

I just ate orange sugar free Jello through a straw, because our dishwasher broke and we have no clean spoons..... I should really do dishes by hand, but I really don't feel like standing.

What have you done or not done lately?

  • So funny. I told my hubs that from now on we were going to split chores a new way.... If it's over my head, on the floor or the back of the counter, it's his responsibility, if I can comfortably get to it I will do it.... Eventually.... Which is what led to me eating Jello through a straw.
  • I'm bad about making my hubby do things for me. I've had him shave my legs twice and put on my shoes.

  • Wendy's x4 this week b/c I didn't want to get out of the car to go to Subway. (And hadn't gotten off my ass to go grocery shopping in over a week...)

We have a drive thru Subway here. It is awesome!
    Whaaaat? Those exist?!?
  • I love this post. Mostly I just don't feel so bad for all the crap I have asked DH to do. Ds helped me with my socks this morning.

They do! And it's a touch screen menu so you don't have to deal with trying to explain your order to a person through a speaker. The best part- it saves your orders by phone number so you can easily do repeat orders!
I love subway but I HATE going in and smelling of subway bread all day. I've never seen one of those near me!! I'm bound to find one. I live in a big city- SURELY, I can find one.

    To the google!!!
  • We have a drive through Subway but it is so not that cool. I have to actually talk to the person making the sandwich....
  • I wish my H would do things for me, don't get me wrong he does, but not little things he knows I'm capable of, he would definetly call me out on it if I asked.
I have been pretty lazy lately and when I put my son down for his noon nap I get back into bed and sleep instead of taking that time to be productive.

  • These are all amazing!! If my partner doesn't offer to pick something up for me I will do it but with major groaning sound effects until he notices and offers to help!
  • I have been insanely lazy a lot.. I have DS do a lot for me when he's home from school (especially now since he's on winter break) ex: put my shoes on and tie them, make and bring me chocolate milk, make and bring me a bowl of cereal, start my car for it to warm up (he's 9 so totally doable for him) etc. He is an amazing helper. SO side eyes me too much when I ask for help since he's pretty lazy himself. I had to ask him to go grocery shopping with me yesterday for help and it was like pulling teeth.
  • I made my husband reach over me to (in bed) turn off my lamp so I didn't have to rearrange my pillow fortress. Pretty much anything I need after I get into bed becomes his job... it's just too hard to get comfy anymore!

Yes this is me. H jumps at the opportunity to help after I'm comfy. He knows if I have to rearrange he won't get to sleep either!

    But it's OK. Because:

  • I have my DH put my boots on & off all the time & my 3 year old has been getting me tons of stuff when I'm being lazy, he likes helping. He has asked does it still hurt to bend mom?!
  • I lucked out with the painting. They wouldn't let me in the room because of the fumes. I was secretly hoping hubby would get up early and take down all the tape and plastic, put the outlets covers back on and make me breakfast in bed..... He didn't though. A girl can dream.
  • I have my toddler get me stuff and pick things up for me all the time. He loves to help so it's win/win lol

  • I ask my husband to hand my drink to me from the coffee table a LOT because I don't want to lean over.  I have him bring my chapstick to me all the time because I don't want to get off the couch for it.
This reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite…"But my lips hurt really bad!"
  • I just checked our security cameras from my phone because I wanted to see how much snow we've gotten- but I didn't want to get up off the couch and walk two feet to look out the window..
I just check the weather app on my phone.  But honestly, I do this when I'm not pregnant, too.  It's my postmodern condition - the weather is what the screen tells me it is, not what I can actually observe or feel for myself :).
  • I leave my phone on H's pillow at night so I don't have to get up and put it on the charger. He puts my socks on too, because bending over sucks. I also usually have my hair in a pony tail b/c I'm too lazy to actually dry it.

I have the kids bring me stuff all the time, luckily they are easily bribe able and like to help mostly. DD tells me it's "boring" but still obliges.

All of this. Exactly. I mustered up the energy to paint my toenails today, but if i had any confidence in H doing them, I would pass the task onto him
  • I'm not too bad with my H, I'll take him up on all his offers yo do stuff for me, but I try not to ask for ridiculous favors...yet ;) BUT I did just discover a drive-thru Starbucks not too far from me. It's not close, there are probably 3 closer ones to me. But I will now be going out of my way so I don't have to get out of the car with DS for my peppermint mocha!!

Other than that, I don't get dressed if I'm not leaving the house. And I will kind of fish for visitors to stop by the store for me if they're coming over, so I don't have to go lol. So lazy.

  • I let my 2 year old watch a shameful amount of cartoons in the mornings.

Also - touch screen subway sounds amazing! We have a drive through but it's just a regular boring drive thru.

  • I love this. Mostly because now I don't feel as bad that everytime I drop something ( which is often) I ask the hubby to pick it up... And I'll wait until he comes into the room if he was doing something else if I don't need whatever I dropped immediately.

    Seriously bending is hard! :-/

My floors are probably more dirty than i care to think about right now...

I also tell my husband that I can't do many things because the smells bother me still... E.g. Cleaning products... Which may be not very true and more so because I hate cleaning the bathroom....
  • I asked a bunch of strangers on TB a stupid question that I could have googled myself... Oh wait, I'm not completely helpless!

In real life, I yelled for my husband to come upstairs and turn the fan off because the noise was bothering me - even though all has to do was get out of bed and turn the switch. >:)

  • I asked my husband to put on my socks today.... :(

Mine has put my socks on several times. I never knew being able to bend over from a seated position was a luxury!

At least you can have a sense if humor about stupid bump questions. It happens a lot around here.
  • If I drop something on the floor, I just ask someone nearby to pick it up for me (nicely). I will admit to pulling the pregnancy card on that one.

I ask H to take my boots off so I don't have to bend over, usually by sticking my foot out at him until he takes them off for me.
  • All this thread did was make me miss the first time I was pregnant and wish Haden was a little older so he could do stuff for me.

The first thing that kid is going to learn is how to get mommy a beer. Flame away.

OK not first thing. We mastered waving bye-bye over the holidays.

Side note- must rearrange fridge so beer is near bottom after baby is born, in preparation of Haden being old enough to complete this task.

He can already open the fridge so I say we're halfway there.
My FIL use to put dish towels on the fridge handles so it would be easier for them to pull the door open to get him a beer. He did this not only with his own kids, but neighborhood kids too. He had them all trained. Keep on working towards your goals.
  • lol @ training neighborhood kids.

I don't intend to corrupt any children other than my own.
You should consider it.... More kids should have this skill.

  • I'm still in bed. My hunger isn't even motivating me to get up. My dog is so annoyed with this, that he is now laying half on my pillow and half on my face. I don't have the heart to move him though..... Lazy.
