My husband and I realized the other day that we never call our daughter by her actual name. I think I've only called her Ramona a handful of times. We usually call her Bug, Buggie, or Munchie. I don't know why lol. What do you call your baby?
on an unrelated note, @lizzielu82, my pup Bennie was having a great time playing with a pomeranian at the park yesterday and I had a thought because I think you live in SF too, "I wonder if that's Lizzielu's dog!?" But it wasn't you.
TTC 3/2012; IUI 2/26/14; EDD 11/23/14; DD born 11/21/14!!!

I do live in SF! Must have been an imposter pom to mine
Kicker, pooper, farter, silly one, honey, little one
I noticed this recently too but I figured she doesn't even know what we're saying yet and she certainly won't know her name for some time... we'll start calling her by name eventually
Since her name is Ember, I we figured we'd called her Emmie a lot, but it hasn't happened.
DH calls her Little Ember or Sweetheart. And sometimes Bright Eyes.
I usually call her what we called her all the while I was pregnant, Pips, short for Pipsqeak. Something DH came up with that just stuck. Most of my friends call her Pips as well. To the family, she is Ember.
I also call her Punkin' (Pumpkin) which is what my mom called me a lot when I was very young. Sometimes, when she's really fired up, I call her my little firecracker.
My husband and I had a similar conversation the other day... kind of worried my son won't know his name! Lol!!
He usually gets called little man, baby boy, mister man (what my husband calls him), and for some reason I started calling him lovebug... no idea where I got that one
ETA: My son's name is Rhett Edward and my brother calls him Rhettward... for whatever reason it cracks me up
Almost always call him by his name, Matthew or Matthew Thomas. Sometimes monkey or my little mountain man (first two initials mt).
On a side note I hate when other people try to give him nicknames. We have said he will not be Matt people won't listen! When he's older he can decide if he wants those nicknames. For the time being I make that call!!
Lucy is her given nickname but her full name is Lucille. The best nicknames come from her 2 yr old sisters: Baby Lucy Moosey Goose/goosey Lucy goosey Honey bunny ..and my personal favorite stinker bug.
Jackson (his name), little man, snuffalufogis, gascious clay, Sir Snorts A Lot, Poop Master, Pee Master, Goober, and probably 15 others that aren't coming to mind right now.
@Ineedmorecoffee Thanks for starting this! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a lot of nicknames for LO :-)

Did you ask the person if they were lizzielu?
I didn't have to, someone else called her by her name and it was Heather. Lizzielu is certainly not a Heather.
I almost forgot, the nickname we most often call her is Baby Pterodactyl because of the sounds she makes.

Generally I just say whatever silly name pops in my head at that minute. The most common ones are Jos, JJ, Kicky-baby, Baby-baby (I've called all my girls this), Puma-Baby (DH started that after watching an MST3K episode) and most often My Baby-est of Baby-babies. I don't know why. It just came out one day and I liked it.
I also call her Hadley and Monster-baby (DD2's name and nickname) and vice versa. Oops.
