Sunday randoms!

DH and I are driving to a wedding 4.5 hours away...without the kids!!! We left them with MIL. I've never been away from them even close to this long, especially not with my H.

It feels AMAZING! (But I miss them)

  • @kendra1992‌ - I feel like the holidays opened the floodgates for a bunch of new people.

Either that or I was off the boards longer than I thought...

  • OH and another thing....

I just got the Baby Bargains book and am freaking out and thinking I have to redo my entire registry and every single thing I've been planning because it came in mere days after registering (kind of forgot I ordered it).

    ...I probably won't....

Agreed. They came out of the woodwork or something. I can't handle the gazillion new threads that have already been answered if they would just search/lurk.

My random: had an almost melt down last night. Couldn't get comfortable and was SOOO tired. My hips hurt. My back hurts. My mouth is so dry and the heartburn is out of control at night.
I just wish I could figure out a way to crack my mid-lower back without going to a chiropractor.
So much of this! My mid lower back is killing me!
  • I just overheard FIL ask DH if DS really needs to go to daycare after the baby comes since "Mama will be home." DH handled it but I am a bit annoyed.
I'm a firm believer that men are truly not wired like women are. Absolute morons when it comes to this kind of stuff. Stay at home dads are the true exception to the rule and that makes them so hot! ha. I wouldn't sweat it.. FIL doesn't have a clue like most of them.

  • @samiamagirl‌ oh I was totally joking. My DH nephew is 15 now, great kid, and has a gf that's a total bitch. I feel a little bad saying that about a kid but it's true. We jokingly say all the time they could be having a kid at the same time as us. But we both know it's not funny at all. I just feel like 16 and pregnant made it popular and that's sad.

Regarding the randoms that show up over the holidays:

This is really sad, but a lot of the time the randoms are bored high schoolers who are on break and decide to troll pregnancy boards. And I can't give specifics, but if y'all thought the past few days have bee bad on May15 you should see some of the other crazy that has been happening on other boards. Whoa.
WTF? I did some dumb shit in high school but how would this even cross someone's mind? That's crazy and stupid
Hahaha right? I thought I had time to kill in high school but these kids must be wayyyyy bored

This sounds like my FIL. I can't imagine what he was like as a parent. No wonder MIL loves her wine so much.

  • My aunts sil came to visit. She was so sad I'm having my second teen pregnancy.... I had my first son at 20, and I'm 28.... Like she's recently as in this week seen my son, I'm really disturbed to think young she thought I was with him, if 8 years later I'm still a teen? :D
  • @lakingsfan2015‌ that is amazing! I love hearing the crazy things that are going on with the babies of friends who are having twins. What a special thing :D

  • I finally finished organizing our photo albums from the past 2 years--I've had pictures just everywhere, waiting for organization... and I finally did it! Yay! This gives me hope that I'll be able to make some kind of pregnancy picture album in a (moderately) timely manner lol... Also, my anatomy scan is tomorrow; I'm all excited and on edge...
    peaceout
  • @lakingsfan2015‌ my sons dad made sure my 8 year knows all the greats as far as music, and he loves the Beatles ... On the flip side I listen to a lot more dances music (better to run too)... So he also loves Iyaz, Katy Perry, other bad music I like. I think my ex dies a little on the inside when he sings " shorty is a melody in my head...."
  • Supposed to go start my registry with my BFF. She texted me this morning and said lets do it early, and now it's almost 11am and I am still waiting on her! What a lagger!

Yesterday I found out my cat probably has cancer. He is one of the rare cats who got vaccine-induced sarcoma. So I basically feel like I paid for him to get cancer. And that it's all my fault that he is going to die. He has been super attached to me the last couple of weeks, always wanting to sit next to me or in my lap. Breaks my heart.

--------- @FreddyisReady‌ - My cat of 12 years died of cancer a few years ago. I still miss him everyday. So very sorry to hear about his sad diagnosis. :(

Oh man seriously. That show is awful. Whenever I talk to my niece I try not to glamourize my pregnancy at all (I'm closer in age to her than I am to her father, so I'm the cool, relatable family member) as to not make it seem like something she wants anytime soon. I do say how great it is, but emphasize the rough parts and that, even though I'm married and stable, I'm still scared about how life changing this is.

@FreddyisReady‌ - I'm so sorry about your cat. Is there anything they can do for him treatment wise?

  • The gahhh moment when you decide to be a lurk whore, forgetting you're on a different board. Then you look through the threads and find one you want to respond to and start posting. But you're lucky that your response didn't post, so you were able to delete it without anyone noticing. Not that I'm speaking from experience... X_X
  • @GFJ48‌ I hate that too! You're stuck in a car in silence and a car full of anger. Ugh. Been there. I feel for ya.

@FreddyisReady‌- I'm sorry to hear about your cat. You were doing what you felt was right to protect him. I have a cat that has been with me for 15 years of my life.

I thought I would get out and do a little gardening while DD played in her pool. The first batch of weeds I went to pull were, in fact, stinging nettles. My foot and hand are on fire. Awesome.

Jealous at the fact you said "pool" while I'm sitting here staring at snow and dreading the -20 degree wind outside. :(

ETA: to say I'm sorry about your foot and hand!
  • It's almost 1pm and I haven't done anything. Time to force myself to some laundry and make lunch. Waking up to pee 5 times every night is really messing up my energy since I don't get good continous sleep. I guess I better just get used to sleepless nights!

I am jealous of your cold weather! Although...that seems a bit extreme for my taste in cold!

@FreddyisReady‌ ...so sorry to hear about your cat!
I live in Nebraska, so it'll most likely hit the 30s or 40s in the next couple weeks. I'm not sure who else has this, but I'm in the land of bipolar weather.

I went grocery shopping with SO today and stared at this like it was a mythical creature, so close, yet so far away. I miss you so much.... Only 4 more months I promise
Sigh, right there with you. Last night I was shopping with DH and we walked past a table of sushi samples, he said "I'm surprised you don't want one" and I just stared at him and said "um... that's sushi". Turns out he didn't look very closely and thought it was some sort of baked good, ahahaha!

@irishtheatrechic‌ Are twins a kick starter for binge cleaning/organizing? Every time DH is free or home early I have been doing all sorts of cleaning. But I also live in fear that if I don't get ahead on some cleaning projects that I won't get them done due to fatigue or the inability to turn or bend over.

@lakingsfan2015‌ I have AP with baby B too. I have barely felt him and yesterday he gave a few huge kicks that I could even see on the outside! It was awesome! Shocked me too since I'm only used to feeling baby A.

@maggiet19‌ and @rivers714‌ Support band was a HUGE success! The discomfort didn't start until I started stretching at the end. Some moves were definitely a challenge. Squats and lunges were pretty hard to do with it on. Same for a lot of stretches so I took it off to stretch too.
