Hoping Things are Ok: Updated

On Thursday night, I got home from the gym to find blood on my underwear. I was bleeding a decent amount and was afraid that I was miscarrying. It wasn't enough to fill a pad, but it was definitely more than just spotting, and it was bright red. I thought about going to the hospital, but I decided to wait and call my OB in the morning.

I called and talked to a nurse yesterday morning, and she scheduled an u/s for the afternoon. I ended up going to the radiology department in the building, not to my OB's office, so the tech didn't give me much information, but she did show us the baby and heartbeat which was a relief. I don't know how much the baby has grown since my last u/s, but it definitely looks different than it did last time, so I'm assuming there's been a decent amount of growth. I'm pissed, though, because my doctor never called me with the u/s results yesterday, so I have to wait until Monday to see what she thinks might have caused the bleeding.

The good news is that the red bleeding stopped on Thursday, and it's just been brown spotting since the u/s yesterday. I'm still nervous, but I'm trying to be hopeful since the bleeding has mostly stopped, and we did see a heartbeat again. Any positive vibes would be appreciated, though.

For good measure, here's an u/s pic. I was 8w2d yesterday.

ETA: I heard from my doctor's office today. The nurse said that the ultrasound looked good and there's no obvious cause for the bleeding. I have an appointment on Thursday that was already scheduled, so I'll talk to my OB more about it then. FX things are uneventful from here on out.

FX everything is ok, it seems to be. That really sucks that they couldn't talk to you right away, don't they know how stressful this is?! Hopefully you can get an explanation soon. (((hugs)))

My thoughts, exactly. My u/s was around 2:00 yesterday, so I thought for sure I'd hear from her after the office closed at 4:00. Part of me wants to tell myself that it must not have been too concerning if she didn't call, but even if the source of the bleeding wasn't obvious, I still would've liked a call. I'm definitely going to express that to her on Monday.

So glad that you saw the heartbeat and that things looked different and that he bleeding stopped. Doctors really don't pay attention to how not knowing what is going on stirs up horrible thoughts in our heads! Keep us posted on what you find out Monday!

I'm sorry you are going through this. Something similar happened to me at 9 weeks. My OB could not figure out what caused the bleeding. All she said was to give it time. She did say zero exercise and no sex. Did your doctor give you any precautions to take? I am 16weeks now. Please keep us posted.

No, I haven't spoken to my doctor at all. I definitely won't be working out or having sex any time soon, though.

Thinking about you! I had the same thought with doctors offices, you can always tell who has had a loss/ more empathetic when they realize how important it is to pass on that info like yesterday.

I'm definitely planning to mention it Monday. As far as I'm concerned, making me wait all weekend was completely unacceptable considering my u/s was at 2 on Friday.

My thought is that since they didn't call either 1) they didn't get any results yet and/or 2) its good news and they just didn't have time to call. I know it is hard but try not to stress and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
