So, to all of you ladies that have suffered through morning sickness and vomiting, etc, I commend you. You are amazing and I can only say that you are seriously strong!
I got sick ... twice ... last night. Probably the 4th time I've vomited in 20 years. It's so ridiculously aweful. Pretty sure it's food poisoning (we think that's what hubby had the night before as well). It was aweful and I'm being a baby about it ... but seriously, yuck!!
Also, I have a gala thing tonight ... and no clothes. Guess I'm going in my black pants and a nice top. I'm worried about being underdressed. Hoping it's fun, though. It's for some tennis championship that they're holding here.
Afm- I also can't sleep. Do you ever just get really upset and bothered by something, yet you have no idea what it is? It's just this weird feeling I can't shake. At least I can use this time to pack and have some me time without dd1&2 jumping in the bath with me or stealing my pie.
@racegurl87 kenneling worked with my pup to get him on a schedule. Our dog trainer suggested covering the kennel with a blanket and if they whined to go behind it and pick it up just a tiny bit from one end and sort of drop it, she called it the thunder drop or something. It just makes a noise and quiets them down.
Thanks ladies. It's amazing how just some nice words make such a difference when feeling yuck!
Sorry youre all up so early! Sleeping, lately, has had me doing all sorts of contortionist positions. I am SO looking forward to straight belly sleeping again someday! As it is, I half sleep on my belly and I don't think she appreciates it since she starts kicking, lol!
@sweaver93 I live with that feeling on a daily basis! Always concerned about what I'm forgetting/need to do. Hope that you have a productive and relaxed time, before the family get up!
@racegurl87 No advice, but good luck with your pup!

Just fancy it up with some pretty make-up and hair and sparkly jewelry! Hope you feel better!
My random is that I keep thinking there's no way I'm making it to 40 weeks. Not being negative; it just seems improbable right now. Feeling big and done but I am only 31w today. Hoping this baby will cook until at least 37w. Also feeling crampy. Every twitch is freaking me out. Total newbie at this.

Apple pancakes though...
This^ first, Apple pancakes sound to die for right now...
Second, I'm Also 31w today and Idk it just doesn't feel like she's going to stay inside until week 40. I've been super grampy too whenever I'm up doing something and I feel huge! My DS was 9 days late so I've never experienced early labor. I don't want her to come too early but I do have a feeling shell come before her edd
ETA: @DragonflyDreaming so sorry you're not feeling well throwing up is the worst, it makes me cry every time for some reason. I hope you feel better for your gala tonight!
I don't think my guy will make it to the 39 weeks deadline. My bp is going nutty again. I just hope he makes it the whole time. Ds was so tiny and couldn't latch and the pump didn't do anything for me. I am terrified that will happen again even at 39 weeks.
I also can't get comfortable to sleep. This is misery.
I was up all night, between my stuffy nose and this cough. Why is it everytime I have a day off I can't sleep, but if I had to work I would've been crying when my alarm went off at 6am. Of course my SO and the 2 cats are passed out in our bed.
I'm starving and those Apple pancakes sound delicious! I think I'm going to make chocolate chip muffins, yum!
I was Uber crampy and achey last night and it took forever to fall asleep. I think I overdid it a little yesterday with the with the nesting. On the bright side, I went through all DD's toys and books and pulled the stuff that will work for baby brudder. Now to set up his little area in our room.
My poor H is pretty sick with a bad cough I thought a couple days ago he was just being a man about it but he was up all night coughing and it sounds yuck. And of course he's going out of town at the end of the week so he's freaking out he will be way worse by then.
We had a long day yesterday but it was fun! Even with H sick. We bought a new couch and recliner, both on clearance! Couch will go upstairs in the loft area and the recliner is for downstairs in the living room. We are finally setting up the loft after living here almost a year. We saw the Hunger Games movie and shopped a little bit. Then had chipotle for dinner. Yummmmmmmz.
As for today, I just hope he gets some rest and feels better. Oh and that I don't catch it too!
Sorry that a bunch of the other mamas are sick, hope you get to feeling better.
@luckystarz I'm so glad everything was ok with baby and I hope the drs can figure out what's going on with your pelvis! And yay for good shopping trip!
@DragonflyDreaming Sorry your aren't feeling well Throwing up is the worst, I'm with you on that!
Today is my last day off before I go back to work...it's been such a nice two weeks. At least I'm 29 weeks today! Only 11 to go! Can't believe it has gone so fast.
In other news, I just want to freaking poop...I can't remember when the last time I did was. I haven't had this problem the entire time I've been pregnant until now, ugh. I've lived on fiber and water for two days and still nothing. Over it.
ETA: And I just found little ants in my kitchen. Shoot me now.
This is day 7 of this shitty cold. My nose is just a snot factory.
Baby boy is going crazy right now, it's kinda funny like he knows I'm awake now and is saying hi. I also keep waking up on my back which makes me nervous cause I know I'm not supposed to be laying on my back.. This happen to anyone else?
We are having H parents over for dinner tonight and to show them the nursery/reveal the baby's name but we have to clean like... The entire house first. It's still a mess from Christmas, that's how much energy I've had lol
So if someone is planning on visiting and staying with you right after the baby is born, should they have had the flu shot and/or pertussis vac? I'm going to ask my doctor about it this week but just wondering what you all think about it.
I hate stressing out about all these things.
I say yes absolutely and am making sure everyone who plans on being near the baby at first has one. Sorry, not sorry lol
@nomnommama I’m so jealous! I’ve got a super nesting fever
but haven’t managed to take full advantage of that feeling. We’ve been so busy
and then trying to take care of the whole upstairs renovation is taking a lot
of our energy when I also need to do things like going through E’s stuff and
pulling out what we need for Pip. Gahhhh.
AFM: I ordered Pip’s onesie stickers! Yay!!! This is such a small
thing on our to-do list, but it was something I kept feeling like I’d forget to
do so I’m glad it is done. We ended up
going with farm themed ones. E’s were just a pattern/design in various pastel
colors.
I finally made a list last night of all of the things I
could think of needing to do and…I’m overwhelmed. We did get a second coat of
paint in our bedroom upstairs and K started to try to get the light fixtures up
BUT, of course, there is a problem!! The ceiling fan needs a new nut or
something?? I don’t know – I guess the fixture can’t be supported as is. And
the wall sconces need pull chains or switches? Ugh. So we have to get stuff to
finish that, when we thought we could just hang that shit up and be done with
it. We’re going to get the paint for E’s room when we get that other stuff and
make an appointment for a quote on the carpet. Once we get those rooms painted
and carpeted, I can finally start tackling a lot of the other things on the
list. Things that CAN be done, like going through clothing, selling some
clothing, selling some CDs, buying other CDs, getting more clothes for Pip,
getting rid of some of my clothes, pulling out the baby stuff from E for Pip,
and other organizing shit can be done now but it is so hard with a toddler!
Today is my baby shower and also my last day in Minnesota. It's so damn cold out that I hope people will still come to it. Have a great day ladies! Hugs to anyone that needs them.
@DragonflyDreaming I hope you feel better tonight, I had a stomach bug a couple of weeks ago and it was awful!
@kadeelou I don't know if I could ever be a landlord, my fiancée wants to buy a rental property in a couple of years, but I have no desire.
AFM, it's a friend of mines daughter's birthday party today, I said I would go weeks ago but I'm regretting it now. I have so much packing and cleaning to do to get into the house we bought in November. I know I won't regret going but I'll be stressing about the thing I could have gotten done.
I want apple pancakes & cinnamon rolls for breakfast!!!!!!! I'm out of eggs, so I might have to make a store run.....
I've mentioned the pertussis vaccine to my MIL and she didn't seem to take me seriously, but we well have another talk soon! I don't want unvaccinated people near get, let alone holding her, till she is fully vaccinated!
@janda426 I also wake up on my back a couple times a night and it freaks me out too. I do my best to stay on my side, but apparently that's my default.
I just learned that Elephant seals are born at 20 pounds, and their mothers' milk is so rich that over the 4 to 6 weeks that they are with their mom nursing, they gain 10 to 12 pounds a day. when the mom goes back to the ocean at the end, the babies weigh 250 pounds (and can't swim yet, so they are left alone!)
Other randoms: H & I tried to listen to baby with a stethoscope this morning. My AP ruined it -- can't hear a damn thing other than the placenta! But H was listening first & got the strangest look on his face. "WHAT IS THAT?!???" I smiled & immediately knew it had to be placenta. He's never heard one before! I never get to teach him anything now that he's king of all things health, but this was a fun exception. Sounds just like a washing machine - very crazy through a stethoscope!
My dr said my H didn't need the pertussis vax - only me.
I have been resting in bed all day. My blood pressure shot up last night, I swelled up, and got a bad headache. I never get headaches so I am a little nervous. My BP and swelling is down a little today - but still a little high. I am also super hungry and craving anything but healthy food...
Sorry so many of you don't feel well. I pretty much just don't sleep anymore. I mean maybe an hour here and there but that's it.. This is the most active kid I've ever had and the painful movements just keep me up. My mind is constantly racing too so that doesn't help. I'm so not looking forward to going back to work and school tomorrow..
@mangomimosa it is fun to try and listen with your H, it's something my H and I like to do together!
AW coming up here:
This morning my husband has been on a cleaning roll and I am so grateful! He did dishes, baked homemade beer bread, vacuumed, mopped, cleaned the bathroom and carried all the laundry upstairs for me all the while I'm bumping and sitting around. He is super awesome. I know he wanted to help me and get it all done quick so he can play his new play station game this afternoon! I think he definitely deserves and afternoon of gaming.

Lol same over here!! H has been going all morning, it's awesome. He's also earned himself some computer game time
We did our elective ultrasound yesterday. After some chocolate, orange juice, and changing of positions baby boy moved enough for us to see most of his face for a couple of minutes. He did lots of yawning and sticking his tongue out but mostly just napped with both of his hands under his head. It's surreal knowing I have a little person living in my belly, even with this being my second it's still hard sometimes to wrap my head around.
I hope all the sick ladies (and H's) feel better soon. I'm also going through a sick/whiny H and getting little sleep and it sucks. I hope to drown my sorrows in obnoxious amounts of beef stew and chocolate ice cream today to help dull the pain
Hi all! So sorry to hear about all the sick and achy ladies. I guess there will be a lot of that for all of us between now and March...When I don't feel well, all I can do is shop online. just can't be helped!
@rquinlin, welcome back and so glad you had a great time!
@luckystarz, sorry you are still struggling with all of this pain and worry. I'm glad to hear that you have good care and I hope you can work things out with your employer.
Thanks to everyone for thinking of my family. I am glad we didn't try to make the drive, as the weather was bad and got worse today, but I've been on the phone most of yesterday and today with both my grandma and mom. They both got some sleep, so that was good. We'll go up next weekend and I sent some flowers to both of them - there won't be a service until at least late spring for my grandfather.
DH had to go out and do early snow removal yesterday and today and he'll do it again tomorrow. He's napping now. One nice thing is when he does it on weekends, I don't have to drive him, but tomorrow I will take him in at 4 so I can keep the car and he doesn't have to pay to park. Luckily, it's only a five minute drive.
I am off from nannying next week. I adore my job, but I am happy to be able to concentrate on my writing and not try to carry a toddler up and down the stairs. I know I've said this before, but you ladies who are pregnant with another LO (or more) at home are my heroes. I think I have really had a pretty easy pregnancy but taking care of kids while pregnant is a new kind of exhausting. I'm hoping this is good prep for what's to come.
I don't know why our board is attracting all the crazies, but maybe all the month clubs go through this in the third tri? Newbies are one thing, but that one poster yesterday that got banned - ugh. Trolls, please leave us in peace!
DH got up with DD this am, let me sleep until 1130, and cooked breakfast! I kinda feel bad cause today is the last day off for him (he pipelines, got 2 weeks off for holidays). Starting tomorrow he is probably working 6-7 days a week for awhile. After him being home for 2 weeks I'm kinda sad for him to go back
I'm anxiously awaiting my cinnamon Belgian waffles that H is making me right now! He always makes us breakfast on Sunday's (usually pancakes) but bought me a fancy waffle maker for Christmas this year! He has been pretty good about being extra helpful during my pregnancy. I start feeling bad until I remember that I am making a human lol.
@RQuinlin we live in Denver and Breck is definitely our favorite mountain town when we go snowboarding. It's the only place that seems to have nightlife after the slopes close! It sucks not being able to participate this season though. I told H he could go a couple times if he finds someone he wants to do that with.... But when he did, I got kinda irritated so then he didn't end up going. Now I feel bad
I have decided that I need to start watching videos of real births to try and prepare myself. I have pretty much avoided this topic my entire life, like an immature little kid who screams "Eww!" every time I accidentally see something related. It actually makes me mad at myself for being this way, but I have been so terrified about labor and delivery and cannot believe I'm gonna do it soon! I'm usually the type who is over-prepared for everything, but this is something I just can't grasp! How do you prepare yourself for something that you can't really prepare for?!? I'm curious about hypnobirthing to try and help me do this as naturally as possible, but don't want to commit to six weeks of classes that go from 6-9pm once a week. How the heck am I supposed to eat dinner then lol. Pregnancy first world problems.
@DragonflyDreaming Ugh...throwing up is the worst. Hope you feel better and enjoy the gala.
@janda426 I'm normally a back sleeper. As much as I try to sleep on my side, I always wake up on my back. I end up snoring horribly and wake myself up most of the time.
@saltyfins My OB also said anyone planning on having any contact with LO needs the flu shot & TDap.
Quote fail. This was in reply to the influx of newbs and lurkers:
Yes! And I noticed there is one poster in particular who seemed to make her very first post in the FB thread (even asked twice how to get in) and now she has been posting daily. I see her in every thread I read.
It's creepy and I hope they don't add her to the group just because she just started posting every day since the mention of FB.
Yeah, I'm getting really creeped out by the amount of intros that seemingly coincided with the creation of the FB group. Like, why after all this time and lack of participation, would you be interested in a group that involves disclosure of a lot more personal info on people you have had zero interaction with?

@dragonflydreaming I’m sorry you had a rough night L I’m sure black pants and a nice top will be fine. Have fun at the gala!
