Showing?

Re: Showing?

  • @hdenglish‌ I totally agree. I have had a coworker ask me twice if I was pregnant, then try to get it out of our boss, then ask my husband. It is pissing me off because I had a loss before and everyone at work knew. It sucked. Why don't they understand they are invading my privacy?

  • @melsner‌ ugh that's the worst! I think people get excited and carried away with how they feel about it without realizing it's not actually about them.
  • Just bloat. Mine has gotten so bad that my pants no longer fit. Onto maternity pants! And weirdly enough I've lost weight. Pregnancy logic!
  • Bloat. And PIO lumps on my ass. And Lovenox bruises on my bloated belly. Augh, I'm miserable today, but I did poop a bit this morning, so that helped.

  • Wow! So many negative comments. Glad I don't know any of the ignorant a-hole mean girls on this news feed. It's a fact that some women show well before 12 weeks. While they may not be in the majority it does occur.
  • I just joined this site. But after reading this thread I'm shocked at the amount of rudeness. Back to my babycenter forum I go! Women should support each other, not belittle each other. Smh. Heres hoping to a healthy pregnancy to all!

No it is NOT a fact.

I know I'm super late on this but seriously people she could be showing.  Like other posters have said, every pregnancy is different.  For all we know she could be having a vampire baby and those babies grow like really fast and stuff.

    ETA: Total pic fail
I really enjoyed to one about how their uterus was just higher up so yes she was totes showing. That was a new one.

Was that in this thread? We've had so many of these I don't remember.

  • They are like crack @quietdownfiish‌ . If they are on tv I watch. And the scenes with the wolfs make my dog go crazy which is hilarious to me.
  • I really want to meet one of these "omg I thought this was supposed to be a place of support why are you all so mean???" women in person. Nothing in this thread was mean or rude... Just funny. I imagine they walk around with stars in their eyes, and they are totally oblivious to reality because nobody in their real lives ever tells them the truth.

To stay on point, I didn't really show until after 30 weeks last time. Several times I thought I was showing and then I pooped. It's pretty embarrassing afterward when you share a picture of your "bump" with people saying "I'm finally showing!!" And it turns out to be poop. :-o

This has been covered to death, But ladies, if anything is showing right now it is most likely poop or water, and in very rare instances you might have a crazy uterus that expands early. But do you really want to share pics of your giant, overzealous uterus with people? Whatever it is, it's not a baby bump.

Is anyone showing yet? Or is it bloat?

I thought I was "showing" my first pregnancy. There are some women on this site who understand your excitement/lack of experience. Don't let these snarky comments get to you. I don't think the baby actually shows until week 16. *wink*

Your uterus is firm. Bloat is squishy. I have lots and lots of squishy bloat. You cannot feel your uterus until 12 weeks. It just so happens to live in your pelvis

  • Wow, guys. This is my first time reading through questions in my birth club and also my first pregnancy ever, so if I hadn't already talked to my OB, I might have asked a similar question. Reading your heartless responses has made me hesitant to get involved in this community. Please consider that the posters are real people with real feelings. We're about to be moms, not middle schoolers. Happy New Year and God Bless.

It really grinds my gears when someone lectures someone else for their behavior and then says "god bless".
I said God Bless because I genuinely care about people and don't like it when they cyberbully others.  I am a middle school teacher and see this happen all the time with my students.  It's really sad that it continues into adulthood.  Regardless of how hurt I am by the comments people have sent to me and other posters, I do hope God blesses you and that you are blessed with a healthy pregnancy and a Happy New Year.  Just because we don't know each other doesn't mean that we have a license to abuse each other.

I am genuinely looking for support and identification with a group of women going through the same thing I am.  I do not find pointed comments, snarky sarcasm, and intentional rudeness funny.  I didn't find it funny when I was a kid, I don't find it funny in my classroom with my middle school students, and I certainly don't find it funny now that I'm about to be a mom and I am already nurturing and loving my baby.  If you find joy in picking on others, just remember that there's another side to the coin, and that you are hurting someone.  I don't see how that can be real joy at someone else's expense, and I've known that since about third grade.

It's a nice sentiment, but I do not share your religion and would prefer not to be blessed. We aren't your middle school class. We are adults. It's not cyber-bullying. If you feel bullied, as an adult, you have the power to close your browser. No one tried to hurt you, you are hurt because YOU took it that way. This question has seriously been asked a ton of times. It really does get annoying after awhile. I really don't feel like anyone 'abused' anyone on here. I have kept up with the whole thread. I truly believe you would do yourself some good if you found a board more suited to your temperament. This board will remain as is.

Don't "I've known that since third grade" me.  Clearly, in all of your years of wisdom, you have never learned how to put on your big girl panties.  Nobody is being mean or rude here besides the OPs who keep posting the same questions when the answers are readily accessible if they would just take a few minutes and look around before posting.  When they ask a question that has already been asked a million times, it shows that they only care about themselves and not the other women here.  So you can go ahead and hop off that high horse of yours.  ;-)

  • I really wish some people would invest in a dictionary and use it. I hold out hope this would stop people from throwing out words like "cyber bullying" inappropriatly. Seriously...
