Painful Sex

So I know many of us have sworn off sex for a bit...but anyway...

Today things felt fine, but then they suddenly didn't. Just painful and I couldn't quite figure out why/what was causing it. Def vag pain, not uterus... Would you worry? Slight pink tinge on tp afterwards, but no bleeding. I figured it was nothing.... But even at this being pg #3, it was a first for me...

Re: Painful Sex

  • See your Dr asap. It will give you piece of mind.
  • Loading the player...
  • Did it feel irritable? I'm on pelvic rest right now but the last time we had sex, despite using lube it hurt so bad after but it was an irritation pain, not like an internal pain KWIM? Pregnancy can cause extra dryness and your vag can get REALLY cranky. As for the slight pink on the TP I imagine that could be normal especially if you irritated yourself but when's your next dr appt? Either ask then if it's soon or maybe you could just put in a call to see what they say?

Def keep an eye on it, watching for cramping or more blood.
  • From what my OB has told me, a bit of very light pink spotting after aex is not unusual as the cervix can get aggravated and orgasms cause uterine contractions so you could've contracted and/or burst a vein in the outside of your placenta and it leaked through the agitated cervix. (Something like that - I have been on pelvic rest since week 14 or something so I don't even remember sex, much less talking about it). Anyway, I know it's fairly normal. Like @janda426‌ said, just watch out for increase, continued pink discharge, contractions, or cramping. :)
  • I was actually gonna post something similar. For prob the last couple months during & after intercourse I feel a soreness & kind of feels like swelling & dryness. I actually put an ice pack on that area the other night. It's really frustrating since I still have a pretty strong drive & didn't have this issue last time. I read that it's normal & don't think there is much you can do so I didn't bother asking my doctor. But interested to see if anyone else has any advice.
  • Def was more of an internal pain... I had to call it quits shortly after it started. Wasn't dryness related. I'll keep an eye on it, I have an appt on Thursday. Thanks ladies!!

  • I'm really sad you're not a troll because I wanted to post something annoying.

That said, I haven't experienced what you're describing, but I've been walking around feeling like I've been kicked in the vag for a few days. I really hope that your doctor can clear things up, though I definitely get the impression that pain and discomfort at this stage is not unusual.

Sometimes you can have an infection without obvious symptoms other than vaginal discomfort during sex... I'd mention it JIC
ETA- I mean just like yeast or BV
  • My guess is it could be related to the extra weight from baby on the other side. I've been struggling with weird vag pain and the sensation that I'm carrying a weighted ball in there! I definitely notice a soreness that sticks around for a few days after sex too. It's probably nothing to worry about, but it's always worth mentioning to your doc just in case.
