Baby Names

Our choices for boy and girl names! HELP!

We are pretty traditional when it comes to names and we have narrowed things down. Our last name starts with an H and ends in "an" and I tend to think "an,en,in,on" names sound silly with it. So here are options

For a girl we will use Olivia Jane. I know you ladies tend to prefer typical traditional spellings (as do I) but I actually really like Olyvia. So I wanna know if that is just too weird and not pretty. You won't hurt my feelings I genuinely want to know if you would find it weird if you saw it spelled like that in everyday life.

Our boy name is where we run into the most trouble agreeing.

We are not completely set but are thinking a boy will be Noah. Noah David or Noah James would work as they both would honor family members but I don't love those name combinations. So I'm looking for either names that you like with Noah or other names you like for a boy if you hate Noah.

DS is Luke Steven.

Thanks in advance! I'm seriously looking forward to see everyone's opinions on out choices.

  • Olyvia makes my eyes bleed :-&

    i like Noah James
  • Olyvia is bad bad bad. If you love the y, Jayne isn't as terrible.

I like Noah. I also like Elliot and Oliver. I prefer "James" as MN for all three over David

  • Please stick with Olivia.

I like Noah James and Noah David. The others have given good combinations.
  • I think I'd pronounce Olyvia as ollie-VIA rather than o-LIV-i-a. And it is terrible. Your poor kid would have to correct the spelling and pronounciation of her name for her entire life. Pass.
  • I would stick with the original spelling. The creative spelling looks awful and I personally would have trouble deciphering Olivia from it.
    How you considered Olive?

I like both Noah James and Noah David and think both flow very well.
I have a slight preference for Noah James.

  • Olivia Jane is lovely. Olyvia would be a pain in the ass to deal with it.

I think Noah James and Noah David are both good. I prefer James

Olyvia is horrendous. Olivia and Noah are insanely popular, but they're both fine names. I adore Jane and prefer James over David.

  • Noah James and Olivia Jane
  • Olivia Jane and Noah James are great!

I think that deep down you already know that Olyvia is a terrible idea.
  • Thanks for all the input. PP had it right deep down I think it's a bit weird for me especially since we're so traditional with names spellings and even though I do like it I don't think I'd ever go through with Olyvia even if everyone had loved it. We're not too concerned with popularity for us it's more about what we both like (and can actually agree on). Olivia Jane is set in stone for sure and our boy name is not and I definitely appreciate the suggestions. Thanks again!!
  • Olivia Jane and Noah James are great names!!!
