Between my hips hurting, and needing to pee, I was up half the night. Then, at 4:45 a thunder storm rolled in and scared DS. I see a lot of coffee in my future.
F15 December Siggy Challenge: Holiday Decoration Fails
Dh and I remembered pretty late in the day yesterday that today is all day birthing class. Really glad we remembered! His mom was going to come up today and help us put in molding around the upstairs and finish babys room. Fortunately, we got alot of other stuff done yesterday in the house. So I'm not feeling rushed anymore.
Main baby stuff left is figuring out details for a bris, which I keep putting off.
CatLadyTX I've been getting the pain in my hips at night that is usually reserved for after a few nights camping on the ground. I guess my fairly hard mattress is not my friend anymore.
I'm up because my nose is so stuffy I cannot breathe out of it. Literally not even one nostril. I have this wonderful sickness because people keep coming into work really sick. I'm hoping that this goes away soon so I can start to breathe and therefore sleep. Any remedies you ladies can think of?
This will be day 3 of in-laws, BIL and his gf (we were shocked she was real) visiting. I'm ready to have my house back, 3 of them are smokers so our house is starting to get smelly even though they smoke outside. I'm hoping the rain holds off so I can get outside today, I'm in need of fresh air and exercise!
@DBJackson25 I take a really hot shower/stream out the snot twice a day and use saline. You can ask your OB about allergy medication, too. Mine encourages my use of Allegra for allergy type symptoms.
Re: hip pain - it took me forever but I now know I have to sleep upside down in the bed to reduce hip pain. So DH gets to wake up to a face full of my feet every morning. Fx it works for the next 4ish weeks.
Add me to the hip pain list, I have gotten so uncomfortable that I think I have myself a Charlie horse in my back trying to adjust my sleep position. @DBJackson25 boo the congestion I have that too which is making my throat sore. Usually mine goes away after being awake for a few hours and a hot shower but I am not really sick. I hope you feel better soon.
I am off to find a carter's store today. I want to return 2 outfits and hopefully buy some pants. LO has a ton of onsies but so few pants to go with.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

@CatladyTX -- I gave in to the hip/back pain last night and slept in my recliner for the first time. I had a solid few hours of sleep before I had to wake up to pee. I think from now on I have to at least start my night in the recliner.
Thank you all for the suggestions! I've always been terrified to use a netti pot because someone told me it makes you feel like you're drowning and I'm not really a fan of that. I'm willing to try anything at this point though.
I've been in the recliner a few nights from heartburn. Last night I was up throwing up from acid, and moved to the recliner. I am so grateful we splurged and also decided to have it delivered before the nursery was done. It's in our room, and it's the only way I've been able to get restful sleep. Give it a shot!

It does feel weird especially until you get the hang of it. You could try just saline nasal sprays and see if the help. It's kind of a happy medium.

Try it for the first time in the shower...it is the only way I could 'get it.' Just remember to open your mouth and you'll be fine. It is very helpful and gives instant relief.
I'm posting and running. We are in birth class today and THAT guy is in here with us. He is making the most ridiculous comments and giving stupid answers. Ugghhhh...
Add me to the hip pain list! I didn't have this too bad with DD but man when I'm on my feet all day it is brutal come night time. When we get home for work DD just wants me to sit on the floor and play with her. I do but I usually need my DH to help me up.
Yesterday DH and I went and got all the things we need for this little baby. Now today I just want to get the nursery organized before we go back to work Monday.

Omg that would be my DH!
Shower is today! Hope the ice/snow stuff isn't so bad for drivers!!! It's WI, we should know how to drive right? :-SS
Well we have a nasty storm system rolling through here over the next few hours. DH's radio station is hosting a huge concert tonight so I hope it doesn't effect the attendance too much. Still trying to decide if I am going to take DD to it.
I organized the basement yesterday and pulled out all of our bottles to sanitize. Also, my neighbor brought over three huge bins of boys clothes 6 months- 2T. I went through those as well and pulled out what would be seasonally appropriate. So now we just need to stock up on 0-6 months and we shoulld be good for a while.

I'll update later. Hopefully no one kills him.
Well, I suppose, but someone should give him at least a verbal smack down. I HATE that guy.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.
F15 January Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most after Baby Arrives
I've had some hip pain too. I have been foam rolling the outside of my hips and it's also seemed to help. I'll try the heating pad idea, I didn't think about that!
I'm going to second the sinus rinse bottle too! It has saved my life this pregnancy. I had a terrible sinus infection and was rinsing twice or three times a day to get relief.
Two days until I'm back to work and I want to accomplish so much! I'll be lesson planning today for the remaining weeks of work and two weeks into my leave for my sub. I also want to work in the nursery! Argh! Why did I procrastinate so much over break?
Sorry to hear of all the sleep, back, hip, and sickness people are dealing with. I hope it ends soon!
I'm super excited to be driving back home today! We've been visiting my family for the past 2 weeks and I'm *so* over it! We've also been away for work and vacation previous to this so it feels like I haven't been home in over a month (which isn't all that inaccurate). I can't wait to get to organizing my house and to get back into my research! No more teaching uni or, more importantly, no more grading for another two semesters! Yippee!
I've had the hip pain too. Even switching sides doesn't help that much after a while and the pain stays with me even after a few hours out of bed. In terms of other symptoms I think I have linea nigra but only on my pubic bone for a few centimetres - it doesn't come up I my stomach at all. Either that or it could just be a massive vein down there. Has anyone had a short linea nigra like this before? The google doesn't seem to acknowledge it. I'm not worried or anything, it's just weird!
@jaztastic I have nothing good to talk about in spam unfortunately unless a Target run is interesting, but I just wanted to say that the post from your adopted board member was absolutely amazing. I know I wasn't here from the start when all of us got our BFP and I don't know everyone's exact stories or journeys but to it was awesome to read and feel her excitement for you!
Oh happy day! I finally convinced the nurse to take out the iv thingie the ems put in my hand yesterday.
Poor DH is exhausted right now. He was up most of the night checking on the kids. Neither one could sleep.
Just wanted to pop in and say hi before I go back to sleep.
How are you? Did the contractions stop?
Yup they stopped around 1130'ish last night. They think it was just because of the wreck. All the labs they did when I got here are fine, LO is moving & kicking up a storm.
Had an "oh crap" moment during them last night. Really really dawned on me I'm having a baby soon (as in 5 more weeks) and those are only going to get stronger!

@missystephens thanks hon. I don't know if you can see siggy but I've battled with infertility. I made a random post as soon as D14 BMB was created, basically claiming that I would be D14 mom. And all of D13 came and blew the thread wide open with well wishes and gifs. I got my BFP, and shortly after had a chemical pregnancy, and they have been with me every step. Yez, is amazing and checks in on me most often.

@jaztastic unfortunately I am exclusively mobile so I don't see siggys but they sound amazing! However, I am glad (and always entertained) you are here with F15!
I'm also in the hip/groin pain party. On my doctor's suggestion I purchased a belly band that helps. Between that and hot Epsom salt soaks I should make it the last 6 weeks.
My shower is today, but I don't want to go. My "I don't want my fourth baby to overshadow your first" pregnant SIL has been a true drama queen lately and it will just continue today. She's been publicly talking about how much work she's putting into THIS shower. My bestie has really been the one doing all the coordinating and says nothing. The SIL has shamed my MIL into not showing any excitement for her son's first baby by going on and on about how her other sister told her she needs to back down so DH can be special for once. SIL whines about how everyone is "judging" her for her fourth and it's not fair because her baby should be special. So MIL has made it a point to act like neither of them are a big deal. MIL works for pregnant SIL. SIL was an hour late to the decorating date the hosts had last night, walked in and stood there with her arms crossed, and when asked said she was planning all the things she was going to change. I just don't want to go.
Not too much going on out here. We're likely to head in to town and pick up stuff for donairs tonight (I mentioned wanting Lebanese, and DH doesn't want to lie to me about eating it next week).
I've got a joint shower next Sunday after our kick off of the U18 girls' rugby training! It's really happening! I get to sort of coach again for a couple of weeks before Surprise gets here! And then work hard to organize the incoming tour in March.
I've been pretty productive today. My dogs woke me up so early and I couldn't fall back asleep, so I wrote some more thank you cards for gifts I received this week, went out for a drive with the dogs for coffee and a bagel (and the nice guy at the drive thru gave me munchkins for the dogs!), cleaned up the kitchen till my back hurt, and finally took a big bag of returns to babiesrus.
About the returns (this info may benefit others)... I had receipts for none of these things and most of them were not on my registry.... But I decided to try my luck, went in to BRU, and told them I had some items to return from my registry... crossed my fingers... and they took it all, no questions asked! Thank goodness!! I had 4 of the same outfit in the same size in the same color, and two of that same outfit in the same size in a different color. I ended up with almost $80 in store credit to spend as I wanted too! I had a good time shopping in there today!!
DH is going to put up the lights in the nursery today, it's so close to being done. Our furniture arrives next week, and then we can assemble it and put all the baby things away!
I had a weird night. I had cramping (like menstrual pain) and backache on and off, every couple hours. My OB told me before that at this point I only need to call about cramps/contractions when they hit the 5-1-1 rule. So it's weird to be laying there thinking "it's not important until 5-1-1, go back to sleep".
Ugh. Guise. My sister asked me if I could make an invitation for her next door neighbor's 'sprinkle.' Sure....that is what I do for a living. No problem.
...but then she gave me registry information to put on it.
I know her neighbor, and she is very very nice and has adorable boys: THREE of them all under the age of 5, and this is her 'surprise' FOURTH boy.
I don't want to say anything mean because I'm just doing this as a favor to my sister but all my red flags are up. I texted my sister, 'you are asking people to buy her gifts?' She said that she gave away all of her baby stuff and never intended on having another kids. Keep in mind these people are well off (enough to live comfortably in a brand new 4 bedroom house, have 3 kids, and drive nice cars).
I've been off on my spam game lately! My apologies for abandoning my post, ladies!
MIL is still in town so we're taking DS to the movies today. I think he'll enjoy it and I really want to see Penguins of Madagascar. I love having a 4yo

Sorry to hear about all the hip pain! I'm sure it stinks but it just means that the babies are getting closer - so that's a silver lining, right?
I didn't fall asleep until after 2AM last night due to crazy restless legs. It was the weirdest thing, I could not keep them comfortable. I pray that doesn't happen tomorrow night as I have to return to work Monday And deal with 12 year olds which is always interesting.
On a lighter note, DH is a self-proclaimed cowboy and loves cowboy movies. Last night we watched "Urban Cowboy" and might I say... wtf. :-/ if you need a good giggle (and want to gawk at a handsome John Travolta) then check out that movie. (I know I'm way behind the times.)
Sorry about all the hip pain, ladies! Hope you all feel better soon. I had a day out with my family today. Days are becoming tiring and nights are becoming sleepless. Jan is not going to be all that easy after all! Sigh!
Okay, I have so many updates from the birthing class. The idiot guy in our class was the worst! I updated my friends through Facebook and here are the pictures of those updates.
