Teeth: Who's Got 'Em

Re: Teeth: Who's Got 'Em

  • I think he may be getting more teeth based on red cheeks and fussiness, but he's not drooling very much like he did with the first teeth.   Do they always drool a lot with new teeth?

DS barely drools. Only if he's going to town on a toy. So not an indicator for us. Rosey cheeks and fussiness was our cues. Then he started this cry in sleep like he was hurt and that turned into horrible sleep. We're going on a week.

    Ones popped. Ones coming.

  • DS got his bottom 2 at 4.5 months, and the top 2 broke through about a week ago.

    F**K nursing!
  • @uswernewname DS wears his amber 24-7. He has the kind with the quick-release function if the tension gets too intense. It's been amazeballs for us!

    Mines being delivered tomorrow :)
  • @kbowen715, any tips for what to do when they bite while nursing?    He's had 2 lower for 6 weeks now, but just now started experimenting with them.  I think he's trying to cut more and can't resist the urge, but ouch!   In Dr. Sear's book, he suggests pushing him closer to the boob so that he can't breathe.  That worked for one day.

  • So many teeth!! Has he learned not to bite yet? By the time I stopped BF DD1 she had all her teeth. But I think she only had 1 when she started biting and I had to teach her not to.
@spinsoffresonance, how did you teach her not to?

  • Still no teeth here. For those who have moved on from purées to more solid foods, do your LO's have teeth?

I just end the nursing session. I would like to say I didn't react and just calmly said 'no', but that would be a lie. I've found that he won't bite when he is *actually* hungry, so I make sure to stop nursing as soon as he is full. If he is distracted when we start, I watch him carefully when he latches to make sure he doesn't clamp.

@QOTR‌ as soon as she bites i unlatch her (stick my little finger in her mouth) and say no biting. then wait 1-2min before resuming the feeding. Haven't had to do it with DD2 yet, but DD1 got it in about 10days.

She is on tooth number two and I can definitely feel a difference in nursing. Hoping we don't have any biting issues here! That might just ruin it for me!

  • DH was worried bc Google said she should have teeth by now. Based on the fact that she's chewing the furniture and drooling like a maniac, I'm thinking they're on the way.
