Hey all, I also posted on the Infertility board, not sure which board will be more "at home" it seems like a lot of gals on the infertility board are doing IVF which I am not, so I thought I'd see what is going on over here

I'll start off with our struggle to become pregnant with our only daughter. I have PCOS, type II diabetes and high blood pressure. It took us over 4 years to get pregnant with her, it was a mixture of Femara with Repronex and a trigger shot that finally did the deed to get to me finally ovulate, and get pregnant with my daughter. That was the hardest thing I ever went through, it was hard on us and I got to a point where I truly believed I'd never be a mother. I am so thankful that something finally worked... Then this year we came across the opportunity to adopt, LONG story short (I will get into that another time) we were waiting for the babies to be born any day when the birth mother crushed our hearts. For whatever reason she chose to give the babies to a different family last minute. So here we are, we decided to just start TTC again. I am a bit nervous, I know it wasn't an easy road the first time. I made an appointment with our RE and I see him February 10th. I started taking prenatals and was wondering what other supplements I should start taking in the mean time? Wish us luck! I sure could use it...

And thank you, I hope we are able to get something done quickly but I am keeping in my mind that it is a big possibility it won't come easily like the first time didn't. I haven't had any sort of birth control or prevention of pregnancy at all since my daughter was born August 2012, so I know it's not going to "just happen" like I wish in so many ways that it would.

Hi and welcome! I am also Type II Diabetic and have been struggling for a year.. We began seeing an RE last month after going through all the pre-testing in October/November and had our first IUI 2 weeks ago. I'm on Metformin and since being on it my cycle has really regulated itself and I began ovulating on my own.. I know there are other issues relating to the diabetes that makes it harder to conceive and I wish you much luck!

Thanks. I see my endocrinologist for my diabetes on January 22nd, and I am sure he will switch me back to Metformin then. Right now I am on Actos, but it's not controlling my numbers as well as Metformin was so I need to switch anyhow. Just not looking forward to all the tummy troubles I get as a side effect

The failed adoption was and still is very hard. I often think about those girls (twins) that were supposed to be ours. It sucks. I just need to keep my head up and hopefully our journey TTC again will go easily. I am so nervous for our appointment! It also sucks we are out sooo much money from the failed adoption, that won't make paying for the treatments any easier. UGH!

Welcome! So sorry to hear about the adoption falling through. I'm sure that has been very difficult. I hope you find your home here on the bump, whether it's this board or another one. Good luck in TTAS and I hope that your stay here is shorter than with your first.
