My DS's heart rate is usually in the 150's. I always thought that the heartbeat-to-gender correlation was an old wives tale, but apparently my doctors think it's reliable. Back when we heard his HB on the doppler, my OB said he sounded like a boy. Then at my a/s, we asked the tech (before she started) what she thought the baby was, and without hesitation she said "It's definitely a boy." And he was

Personally, I don't think it's the most reliable way to guess. I'm assuming there were other factors that keyed them into 'knowing' DS was a boy, maybe his position in my uterus or markers on my NT scan, I have no idea.

At my last ultrasound the heart rate was 160 and we found out we are having a girl!!!

DS#2 was usually around 150. This LO was 150 last appt. We aren't finding out but I'm guessing it's DS#3...

Have you donr the Chinese gender predictor? According to that, DS#1 should have been a girl, it was right about DS#2 and this one is "supposed" to be a boy too.

at 9 weeks it was 180. Usually now it is between 150 and 160. We are having a boy.

DS's heart rate was 170's when I was pregnant with him 2 years ago.

My doctor said they recently did a study disproving this old wives tale. But it's fun to guess.

It was 160 or so in first tri and now it's anywhere from 145-160. I'm having a girl.

I know a girl who couldn't get a good view at her a/s, so they went off heartrate alone and decorated the nursery pink. She did end up having a DD, but I think she got really lucky!

Hmm....I can't remember all of the appts I've had but I know the first time they checked the heart it was around 158.....later it was 150...and recently it was about 145. I'd say I stick around 150s for the most part...and I'm having a girl.
