FFFC

Just a brief reminder that things can get toasty if your confession is flammable. Flame Free is just a pretty alliteration ;)

  • My DCP called and her daughter has pink eye. I'm keeping my son home today and I'm disappointed that I won't be able to have my last day of vacation kid free.
Aw, bummer. Today is the first day since a few days before Christmas that DD's day care is open, and it's my last day of vacation, so I definitely sent her. I'm sorry you're not getting a day off. :(

  • I have actively contemplated plans to sneak my 10 year old sister into the maternity ward when baby gets here. They don't let anyone under the age or 13 who isn't a sibling in the ward. She does online school at her home and is up to date on all her vaccines/boosters. When I preregistered the paperwork lady mentioned that I should try to sneak her in and it has stuck.

I'll probably just send DH out to buy her hot chocolate and a cookie and she can sit in the waiting room while mom visits. But I can daydream!

    So much this...

I seriously don't remember being this uncomfortable/cranky/miserable/etc. with my first.

  • Add me to the get this baby out club! Yes I know I'm only 37 weeks blah blah blah. Flame away. But if he came on his own then I'm fine with it. Only 18 days to go either way! (which is wayyy to long in my humble opinion)

And yes like you @labellavida, I am using my husband to lift everything including my daughter, I just sit there like hunnnnnny I can't do anything, I'm pregnant! haha I was at my moms for the past week and I thoroughly used my family while I put my legs up, and I was still doing more chasing after her than I do on a normal basis (since I'm normally at work) so I can't imagine if I was a stay at home mom like some of you ladies with toddlers at home, GOD BLESS YOU! At least at work I can bump in peace and quiet and drink my coffee without it getting cold :)

I really wanted to have sex last night to bring on contractions but it did nothing the other night and I was tired so didn't want to waste my energy for no reason...haha my poor husband!

@ghostof5letters sorry you are dealing with that! After the 4 month wakeful DS1 didn't sleep well for a few months- I was more tired during that time than when he was a newborn. Hang in there!
Thank you! DD1 slept perfectly starting around 2 months. This is brutal. I hope it doesn't last the entire year.

  • I want my sister OUT OF MY HOUSE! She invited herself for Christmas this year. I think, "
Well, I am not due till Jan 10th. It will only be a couple of days for Christmas". Nope! I pick her up at the airport at noon on Christmas Day and she tells me she changed her flight to Jan. 11th. WTH? This is my first baby and I have to bring it home from the hospital with her in the back seat? Who does that to a FTM and 9 month pregnant lady? I am so sad for my husband too. We should be resting and enjoying the last few days of single time together before we are parents.
  • The only reason I am not going to ask my OB today to write me a note to get me out of work a week or 2 early is because I need the money.
This is me too. I work part time so I don't get PTO or anything and I'm counting on at least one more paycheck before LO arrives to pad our savings. I would be done as soon as I am 37 weeks if I could.

Add me to the totally using DH club. Once I hit 37 weeks he's getting laid all the time until I go into labor.

  • FFFC-- I know I'm only 39 weeks, but I think I might be too pregnant to do anything that would get me flamed...

  • @jennielynn+ I would be sooo annoyed!
  • Totally using my husband for sexy time for his semen to work its magic on my cervix :). Pretty sure he knows and doesn't mind haha

Ha! I totally did this last night. And he has no clue. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

OMG I would be livid!!!!!! Tell her to find somewhere else to stay...I didn't want ANYONE around me before having DS and even this baby! I have three sisters but all knew from having their own babies to stay far far away until I gave them the ok...my concern this time is keeping their disease infested children away from the baby for a little while. I know my oldest sister will be offended because she thinks her kids are the picture of health (they are sick all the time from school and daycare). We are having a family dinner with everyone at my parents (who live across the grass from me) on the 7th and I'm torn because if I have the baby before the 7th they will expect me to either be there or will all want to visit with their kids...but my parents leave the next day for a week and I would like the baby to be born before they leave because my husband does all of the barn chores by himself when my dad is gone and it would be nerve-wracking having to go to the hospital and leave the milking etc to our hired help....I'm getting so anxious!!!

@Bookitboo, my hospital has this rule too, but my OB said it's fine, and people do it all the time. If she just walks back there with your DH, I doubt anyone would say anything. She kind of is a sibling.

BACON... and broccoli, but I vote for bacon.

And cheese. There are even low/no carb cheesecake recipes that use Splenda.
  • My FFFC is that I still have not taken down the few christmas deocrations I did put up this year.... DH has been wanting them to be put away for a week now. Maybe I will do it later today, maybe.

  • @tkr7c9  I still have my Christmas decorations up as well. Really, it's just two strands of lights, one inside and one outside, but it requires movement and me caring.

  • I haven't taken down Christmas decorations. IMO, January 6th is the deadline because that is the Epiphany / 3 wisemen day.

Plus, our Christmas tree is not shedding at all and still looks green and pretty, so I'm going to enjoy it for another 4 days!

Mine came down on Christmas day- I didn't want to deal with doing it later.

Mine are still up and it's driving me nuts.
  • On the Christmas thing, ours never comes down before Epiphany on January 6th.  Anyone who follows the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar, it's Christmas season until February 2nd (or the nearest Sunday to that).  I think Anglicans have Christmas and Epiphany season and the Epiphany one ends at Feb 2nd, too?  So not behind getting decorations down.  :)

  • I wish I was constipated right now. At this rate I'll definitely be pooping on the delivery table!
  • Even though I was bitching about still being pregnant at 37-38w, seeing people that are now at that point bitching makes me want to come back with snarky comments that are mean and uncalled for.

Wait 'til you go over 40...or better yet, wait 'til you're sitting at 41.3 and have to be induced...I would do anything for a contraction or two right now...

In my defense though, I admitted in the random thread it was wrong I'm feeling this way. It's all the extra stresses I worry about hurting my baby from GD and PIH. I went through a very stressful last week with my last baby because of pre-e. But yeah, in a perfect world we'd all remember the longer baby stays in the better. :(
