So my kid is tearing styrofoam into tiny pieces and dropping it on the floor. And I'm letting her because I got a dyson for Christmas and haven't got to try it out yet!!! Haha, you know you're old when you get cutlery and a vacuum for Xmas and you haven't been more excited!!
Speaking of mirena... Anyone whose had theirs put in already, how much did you bleed afterwards? I've pretty much filled up 3 panty liners.. Like the light days ones, I didn't have any big pads left.
I got mine in yesterday. Ouch! I'm bleeding as well and using the lighter pads. My OB said it's normal but if you are really worried about it I would call your OB
Today LO reacted visibly to DS1's attention (smiling, following with his eyes) and DS1 was so excited. It was really sweet. We've been so lucky with how well DS1 has transitioned. I'm sure we'll have some challenging moments once LO is old enough to take his toys, but at least the initial transition has been easy!
I made cookie bars that I'd never made before for a NYE party tonight. I'm shocked by how much sugar and butter is in them! It's insane. This 9x9 pan of Napoleon creams contains more than 2 sticks of butter, 2/3 a box of graham crackers, a box of instant pudding mix, and over a cup of sugar...and I halved the sugar! I think I just went diabetic typing that out.

For those of you putting lo's in the bumbo's ... How old are your lo's? We have 2 (1 handy me down & the other was a shower gift without a receipt & not off my registry). Lo can hold his head up briefly but at 8 weeks not sure how long he'd last.
Ramona will be 6 weeks this Saturday. She does well in the bumbo! She loves to sit up so it's great.
SAHMs, how much does your SO help out with housework? I basically don't ask for help from DH really ever with housework or dinner. I feel like since I've always wanted to be a mom and stay home, I shouldn't complain? But I'm seriously so sick of cleaning the dishes and doing laundry every single day! I don't even remember the last time he hung up some clothes or washed a pan? I feel like it's my "job" though. Idk. I'm rambling now.
@targetpopcornmomma I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel like I shouldn't have to ask him to do things constantly if I need help because then it just feels like I'm a nagging bitch which I don't want to be!

He doesn't do anything unless I ask, and then it may get done within the next two days, but mostly I get frustrated and do it myself. He does take out the trash because it's like 1/4 block down the alley. It was the same way when I was working. I didn't expect anything to change. He just doesn't bitch as much when things aren't done like they used to. Not like he has any room to bitch period, but oh well.
@oklahomamom09 ugh! Mines the same, I'll ask him and he will say okay, then go back to looking at his phone and then I just get irritated and do it. Mine takes the garbage too but he's always been in charge of that.

8 weeks. I put a boppy around her just in case. I posted this in hdbd.

LO is 7 weeks and he enjoyed it for about 5 minutes too. I sat right there with him and made sure he didn't fall over. The back sort of supports his neck as well.
No offence to you American gals, but for those watching the juniors hockey game, go Canada go! One of my former students was on the team canada junior hockey team last year and has now been drafted to the St. Louis blues. Also, here's an aw for jack and my DH enjoying the game...just because...
My obgyn recommended mirena to me today....after these bleeding stories I am worried.....I had a bad experience with the depo shot years ago....I bled for 3 months straight....makes me scared to try the mirena.

DD has been sleeping sooo much the past few days. And she usually sleeps a lot! I feel like she hasn't had barely any awake time at all lately, and if she has she wasn't happy during it. She usually eats every 2 hours during the day but has been going 3 even 3.5 hours today. She doesn't have a fever or anything but maybe she is coming down with something? I hope not. Does this seem strange for an 8 week old?
ETA - Plus when she eats she has been fussing a lot too.
I think there's a wonder week at about 8 weeks, which could explain it. I'd say she's likely fine, just doing some growing!
This describes my girl this week. Super sleepy and decreased eating volume. Was eating 25-27 oz a day but down to 23-25 oz a day this week. She is 9.5 weeks, but was about 10 days early.
You guys! DS knows my name is Mommy. Twice today when my mom was holding him, she asked if he wanted Mommy. He turned his head and looked right at me, 2 separate times! Cue happy dance!

BFP 2: June 2010 First Round of Clomid Blighted Ovum at 7 weeks
Surprise BFP 3: Feb 2014, Healthy Baby Boy Due October 27th 2014. OB thinks this is it!
Update- my bleeding is much much lighter now. I had DH stop and get me pads on his way home and since then it slowed way down. Go figure.
Mine too! @mander82 don't be scared! This is my first time with Mirena so I can't speak from experience, but its big selling point when talking to my OB was the fact that there would be less blood overall - lighter periods or none at all. I think it's pretty common to spot some after any iud insertion.
My neighbors are huddled around a garbage can bonfire in their driveway and blasting Mariachi music, right outside our nursery. I think we're going to learn if this baby can sleep through anything.
I get to leave the house in thirty minutes to take my mom to the airport. So, so glad to get my house back to normal. She was almost no help for ten days, other than watching the baby sleep for a couple hours while I went out to dinner with the H last night on my birthday.

Also, I love Kathy Griffin. I went to see her three days before Ems was born. Laughing at her possibly caused me to go into labor at 38 weeks.

Sorry, this is more bitch than random.
