hi ladies, we just had our 4th failed fresh ivf attempt. I'm wondering if anyone has done more than 4 and ended up pregnant? Or if it's very unlikely that it will happen for us at this point with our own eggs? Thank you so much.
@Jammiewantsbaby There are success stories, but many women on this board are still trying for a first. I'd suggest asking on SAIF or PAIF. If you check out PAIF, there is a very recent birth announcement from one of our IVF Vets from her fifth IVF.
Ronniesgirl is right you will find more success stories by visiting PAIF and SAIF. This board is for ladies who have a history of posting on the the Bump, but most are still actively trying.
You can see our history in my signature. Feel free to PM me with any questions. I wish you the best.
Where do I find these boards? I am in the app on my phone. I haven't quite figured out how to navigate very well yet! Do most people on this board are on their first ivf?
Yup, most are TTC #1, and all have been active on the bump's infertility boards for at least 6 months. The mobile app is kinda difficult to navigate. And if we're being honest, so is the desktop format. On the computer, if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the left side bar, you'll find a link to the message boards.

I rarely use the app because the navigation is terrible. I think once you are on the boards you should see somewhere at the top "bump message boards" if you click on that you should get a complete list of the boards. Definitely try Pregnant after Infertility or Success after Infertility boards, there will be more women there able to answer your question.
Personally I have done 4 fresh IVFs and a FET and are in the middle of our 2nd FET. IVF #1 ended in a canceled transfer because all of our embryos arrested, the IVF #2 ended in a chemical pregnancy, and IVF #3 was a BFN. We switched gears and tried a FET with donor embryos next, which was also a BFN. We decided to give IVF one more try and IVF #4 was converted to a freeze all due to lining issues. I have 2 frozen blasts that we will transfer during this FET. If this transfer doesn't work, we plan on looking into either donor eggs or giving donor embryos another shot.
There are a lot of factors that play into a successful IVF. Have you tried other protocols? How is your embryo quality? Have you looked into immune testing? Have you done PGS testing on your embryos? It's really hard to say if you will have success after 4 IVFs. Some women will never be successful with their eggs, while others if they find the right protocol might go on to be successful after mutiple failed cycles.
Good luck. I hope you find success with whatever path you choose.

We conceived on our 3rd attempt (first fresh transfer did not stick, miscarried second FET, then 3rd attempt stuck. My daughter is now 3 months! We did change the protocol and tested for deficiencies after the miscarriage. For me, progesterone suppositories didn't work, I needed the PIO injections to sustain baby.
I didn't mention, and am realizing that if you're mobile that you won't see it in my siggy, but we got pregnant from our 5th IVF cycle. We had poor embryo quality with OE+OS, so this last cycle we switched it up to DEgg+RI protocol. It was and is intense, and we literally changed every variable we could for this cycle.
Thank you very much! I'm not sure what do you mean by OE and OS, and also what do the abbreviation from your protocol mean? So sorry, I haven't seen before.
Just wanted to add my story. I spent 3 years with one clinic where I did 4 fresh transfers and 2 FETs; all negative (1 chemical pregnancy). On the last fresh cycle we even did Day 3 PGS testing.
********MENTS*********
We decided to change clinics (RMANJ) and did one retrieval with CCS testing, and froze the normal embryos. We did an FET the next month and I just have birth to twins last week. A new set of eyes and a much better clinic made a difference for us.
Our history is in my siggy. we got pregnant with b/g twins on our 5th embryo transfer. Our only diagnosis was MFI. I never produced a lot of eggs, but they were good quality. Most of our transfers were 5 day blasts. The cycle that gave us our twins though was actually a day 3 transfer with assisted hatching (RE did everything possible to make it work). We had 1 frozen embryo that we did go back and use and it resulted in a miscarriage. After 6 embryo transfers and 3 losses, we are DONE and very thankful for our twins. We can't afford to spend any more time, money or heartache on the IF process.
Good luck to you!
