Soooo... does anyone else's baby sound like a balloon that a ten year old is slowly deflating by squeezing the air out of? 'Cause mine does. All the time.
Haha yes. Freaks DH out but I've noticed that she mostly squeaks like that when she's perfectly content.
Anybody else's baby clear their throat after they cough or while eating? LO does it every time and she sounds so damn polite about it that it seems like learned behavior (obviously I know it isn't because she's done it since day one). I giggle every time.
When you are given the opportunity to take a nap and you can't fall asleep..
This is my life. Ugh.
Boo! Me too! DH came home early and took the LO, so I could nap. I am so tired...but as soon as I lay down, I couldn't fall asleep. Had a nice hour long rest, but not the same!
And after hours of solely crying or nursing or both at the same time, she's finally asleep. And she's perfect again. Oh, that dear face. I'm so in love
I was nursing LO and he peed on me twice. I couldn't move bc he had a great latch and I didn't want to mess up our mojo. I just sat there with all of the pee on me.
@rshamos that is something a week ago I wouldn't have understood. Now if I can get this kid to latch without a shield (we are working on it), I'd put up with pee, poop, whatever to keep him on! Is this what adorable babies do to their parents?
The other day I realized that this must be what true love/motherhood is: everyday someone keeping you awake to scream at you, pooping on your hand, puking on your tits, burping/sneezing in your face, and you being completely okay with all of it.
"I'm feeling twenty twoooo" it's my birthday at midnight! I'm actually feeling like a cow being consistently milked for the past 24-48 hours, how long does the growth spurt thing last?

Heyyy, I just turned 22 a few days after my LO was born also! Happy early bday
If you still have an inside baby, there is no reason to jump ship for j15. D14 is for moms due in December. Doesn't matter if you deliver then or not....right?! Right! I was D10 with my DS and he ended up coming early in November. I was and still am D10 for life!
D14 4 Eva! If I was Mark Wahlberg, I would tattoo that to my stomach with a ball point pen (Fear reference).
I left LO with MH while I went shopping today. LO decided to throw a fit, even after MH fed him pumped BM. LO was not happy until his mom came home. Is it horrible that I am secretly happy he needs his mommy?
@misskilljoy - sorry about the tailbone! glad you didn't do any further damage!
my super awesome amazing friend just dropped by with homemade ham and black eyed pea soup (apparently lucky to eat black eyed peas on new years day) along with the best asiago rosemary rolls, organic cranberry bars, trail mix, orangina, babybels, and other stuff I can't even think about with this little sleep. I don't even care that her 3 year old was poking my baby in the face as he was sleeping on the bilibed.
We'll stay - but only if you bishes tell us what helped get labor started for you! Been having back pain and inconsistent contractions for over a week. Been walking, screwing, eating spicy food, and bouncing on the exercise ball for 2 weeks. Fingertip dilated. Ladies - give up your secrets. I know you got 'em!
I've never commented on this thread before, but I hope it's ok to start - for really, really sore nips get some soothies gel pads - you store them in the fridge and they're reusable for 72 hours. They are expensive but they work so well. The nurse in the hospital with my first gave me a pair and they were a lifesaver because he turned my nips into hamburger meat for fun.
The lactation consultant told me I should squish my boob to help lo latch in. She said, "you know, like how you squish a Hamburger so it will fit in your mouth?" I think of this every time she latches on, and usually tell her to get the Hamburger in her mouth. Motn sleep deprived feedings it makes me laugh so hard!

--------------------- I used my breast pump for about 5 minutes on my due date, went into labor a few hours later and had her the next day! Coincidence? Worth a try.

I stopped doing anything. Tools baths and naps and had a glass of wine. The day after I had my first glass I lost my mucus plug, then the next day with the same routine I went into labor! Lol
At dinner the night before I delivered, I just told everyone I was fine, no sign of going into labor anytime soon, and I would see everyone the next day at a party we were going to go to. Woke up at 4:30 am when my water broke. So, just tell everyone you're not going into labor anytime soon and you'll go @amedbery
D14 November, because I am finally not on mobile, how I feel in 3rd tri:

@amedbery medical induction! Chalupa was ready to come out but my uterus was trying to hold him in. It took a team of nurses to convince it he needed to be an outside baby. Also, stress from dealing with my family. It made my blood pressure go sky high.
Yeah - I go in Tuesday and I think we will schedule an eviction date. My OB didn't seem real comfortable with me going much past next week. I'm just really hoping to avoid a cs and if labor begins on its own then that may help my chances. Patience was easier before the pain and nausea set in, but I can deal for another week or so. The weepy-ragey hormone cycle keeps things interesting. As long as baby's healthy, I'll deal.
@Serunatu - I've definitely been enjoying baths and the occasional glass of wine, too! @irish2014 - I've told everyone the baby will have the same birthday as DH (January 11). So far, she's calling my bluff. This baby is already obstinate as hell.
So did anyone's water break before they were really dilated at all? Obviously plenty of women go in to labor before their water breaks and most have their water break in the hospital. Just kinda curious on the dynamics of that. My fluid is on the high side so if it breaks before I go in it could be pretty epic!

Yep. My OB thought I was still a few weeks out so she suggested I start pumping for a few minutes a couple times a day just to give my body the idea of preparing for labor. I pumped for 15 min that day and the next morning woke up with back labor so I pumped again for like 5 min before starting to have real contractions.

I know who's gonna start testing her pump tomorrow! Oh Lord - when y'all did - did anything come out? I had thought about trying this but I'm not sure what I'll do if milk comes out. Freezer, I suppose.

You won't get milk or anything, but you might get colostrum!
-----QBF-----
I just attached the little vials that only hold a couple ounces, and combined I only got about a cm of colostrum (can't remember how much it was in volume...). I froze it, but I forgot all about it until after my milk had already come in!
ok so I've been away having a baby and stuff so I apologize because I know this has probably been asked and answered at least a dozen times on D14 alone, but who is this amazing AmyG person and where is all of her vast knowledge coming from? Is she a lac consultant during her day job? I am way impressed at the amount of time she must spend answering BF related stuff.

Hmmm. Think I'll try the pumping thing first. Then maybe listeria. But definitely pumping first!
