I recently got some good but not so good news. My blood tests came back, dr didn't mention anything about the cyst on his brain. With the information she told me I had other thoughts and assumed the cyst went away. My dr confirmed that Oli does not have Down syndrome but they are afraid he did not produce enough sex chromosomes. What does that even mean? I thought he was healthy? That's what I was told at my last appointment. I now have an appointment to see a specialist. It'll be a special ultrasound. Since they are Afraid he didn't get enough sex chromosomes they will be testing for Turner Syndrome. I did my research of course, Turner syndrome only occurs in girls. I'm having a boy? So I continued my research and found XXY syndrome which occurs in boys, but as I continued reading they don't usually catch that until after the boy hits puberty. I'm so confused. I have a million questions for the specialist. Also when I see the specialist they will check his measurements to see how he is growing. My last ultrasound and appointment they said he was healthy and growing perfectly. How can this be happening? I feel him kick me everyday. He responds to me when I want him to kick for me. He knows my voice. It's hard to even think that there could be something wrong with my baby boy. I'm only 18, my boyfriend is 22. I'm am so scared.. I hope my Oliver is okay. I'm not the one to usually ask for prayers, but this would help tremendously. Ever since I found out I can barley keep my eyes from watering. I just want the best for my baby. Hopefully I walk into that specialists office and they say he is perfect.

Think about bringing a notepad to all future doctor's apointments. I have found this to be helpful as I have been able to write down notes on what the doctor is saying and it helps me to ask questions where I have holes in the information. It also helps me to leave the appointment feeling more informed and less confused and trying to remember everything they said.
