1:03 here and no ones started this, so here we go

LO just slept almost 3 hours in the rock and play beside my bed. Praise Jesus! Now hopefully I can get another stretch without him waking up and wanting to be held.

I rocked him for 30 minutes after he fell asleep to make sure he was good and out before I tried to lay him down. Anyone else rock for a long time before they transfer baby?

@flutterbuggie‌ okay sweet. Hopefully I can make a habit out of this. 4 weeks with LO sleeping on my chest has been long enough for me lol

Just got her down. I wish it was only half an hour of rocking! This congestion means I've had to rock and cuddle and soothe for two hours the last few nights... See you in an hour to start over!

I rock/keep upright for at least 30 min but usually more like an hour before laying him down. It took 2 hr this last feeding but I think that's due to the 6 wk growth spurt we're in the midst of.

@lizzielu82‌ we have one and use it when LO sounds congested. Ours is currently running right now.

We've been using one since LO came home, but he sleeps in our room and we always have one. FI and SD have horrible allergies/asthma and it keeps them down significantly. SD has her own in her room and when lo starts sleeping in his own room he'll get one too just in case he gets FI's nasty allergies/asthma.

Thanks @MissN06‌ and @oklahomamom09‌! LO isn't necessarily congested but has snorted some in the recent mornings when crying. Like a sad little piggy. I'll get the humidifier going staring tomorrow night to see if it helps her sleep longer.

We had been using the humidifier pretty much since getting home from the hospital. We unplugged it to rearrange the living room for thanksgiving and never started it up again. I noticed a significant upswing in LO's congestion and my dry skin, so I'm now determined to keep it on all the time at least until winter is over.

Our friends had their baby girl two days ago! I can't wait to meet her. I am already planning for our LO's to fall in love in 20 years and live happily ever after

LO fell asleep at 9 and I didn't fall asleep till 11:00. Ugh so his longer stretch of sleep was only a couple hrs for me

LO actually slept pretty decent last night considering he slept the entire day.. Why am I up you ask?! I can't sleep, I knew I needed to pump and we have so much to do before leaving town later this morning..but really when he's actually sleeping why is it I cant? Lol of course my hubby and DS1 are fast asleep..

@heisenberg‌ I would let her visit and just keep her distance and wash hands. Your chances are probably slim anyways. My grubby preschooler had a virus a few weeks back and despite my efforts still had plenty of direct contact with LO and LO stayed healthy!

DH and I got into over LO bring fed a few minutes and who was going to do it. It all boils down to both of us being sleep deprived and irritable. I was going to appologize since I started the fight. He went back to bed and was snoring. I sent a text letting him know I love him and it apparently woke him up (the 40 other dinging notifications that go off all night every night never do) and he gave me a crappy response back so now I just think he's a d1ck at the moment and don't want to appologize for starting the argument.

It's kinda like an exersaucer but more like a bumbo. I want to try hee in an exersaucer she loves to try and stand up.

Awww sad little piggy. Adorable. DS snorts alot. Since he was born. The humidifier helps. Especially with the dry air. It also helps me. My throat is not so sore in the morning.

DH is headed out to work, my Mom will be over soon to help out with DS. Still super sore but DH brought the diaper bag to our room and I can easily transfer DS to and from the bassinet. Just not to the other rooms. It's weird, I don't hurt where the incisions are. Just where the gallbladder used to be. The trapped gas is gone :-) so I got some sleep last night but I had the freakiest nightmares. Probably from the meds. It was all about clowns. :shudders: I woke up in a terrible panic.

@lizzielu82 We have been using a humidifier for a while now too, it seems to really help with his snorting sounds.

@heisenberg I would let her see the baby, as long as there was no physical contact involved, it should be fine. I can only imagine how many sickly people my LO has encountered being out in the stores already. Also, DH and I just started watching Breaking Bad, so I finally understand your screen name and avatar!!! Awesome show! We just started Season 3, we have been marathon watching on Netflix!

@targetpopcornmomma I have been wondering about the Bumbo seat, its sitting in my dining room waiting to be opened. This makes me want to try it! LO can't hold his head up for real long yet, but he loves sitting upright on my lap with me helping to support him.

@MissN06 ugh...that sucks about you guys getting into it....hopefully he comes around after he gets some shut eye. If he gave you a shitty response after you sent him a nice text, I wouldn't even try to apologize until he fixed his face. That would earn him the silent treatment in my book.

A few quick questions for ladies who pump and are returning to work.

I started pumping after the first morning feed. I get about 3 oz per breast. Should I add another pump session on at night too? DS nurses on demand. I have 6 bags stored so far and return to work Monday.

Also are you having the care giver keep track of feedings and the amount? For the first week or so or forever? lol

I have my 6 week postpartum check up today.......for those of you that have gone already, what can I expect ?

I am sure there will be a vagina inspection, talk of birth control ?? Thats all I am expecting.

Did anyone take LO with them? I didn't make any arrangements for anyone to watch him, I figured he can just sleep in his carseat, but the rooms at the dr office are pretty small....its gonna be cramped with a car seat in there while having a dr and nurse in there for my vagina inspection. hmmm.....I am sure MIL could watch him while I go if I asked her to.

Thanks guys! I don't think I have PPD, or PPA, but after one of our roughest nights yet last night, and all my going back to work anxiety.....the doc is probably going to want to give me something. I don't think I need anything....but I am probably in the roughest spot I have been in as of yet. I think once I am back to work a week or so, I will be better. Probably more tired, but less anxious. The thought of going back to work is fucking with me pretty hard.

It seems like every day, I convince myself that he will do better that night......I keep trying different things hoping they will help. Then evening time rolls around and its hell on earth all over again. This child can NOT be figured out. I am starting to think he just loves to cry.

@mander82‌ all of what the other ladies said. Also, my OB said that I was healing well but slowly and put silver nitrate on some of the sensitive tissue. It hurt for a day but ultimately felt a lot better in terms of not feeling weird when sitting in certain positions.

Re:humidifier I just had a revolutionary thought - does this help with snoring? DH is like a chainsaw and I'm the lightest sleeper. If I could help sad little piggy and him my sleep life would be close to perfect!

Doesn't help with my FI's snoring but his nose is broken lol

He loves to sleep on his back which is the real culprit. I'm shoving him all night to get him on his side. The annoyed faces he gives me mid-shove also look almost exactly like LO's annoyed faces so now I find his somewhat endearing haha

I finally broke down and got Zantac to help with the baby's reflux. It's gross! She took the mint flavored crushed pills with little more than a whine and side-eye, but threw it up hard five minutes later. She threw up again a couple of hours later and has had a low temp (+/- 99) since. She's mostly been sleeping, but isn't exceptionally fussy when awake... I don't know whether to try another dose today or not. Boo

AW!! My little girl slept from 10-3, 3:15-6:30, 6:45-10!! Woot woot!! I thought she was going to wake up when she went to bed at 10 so I stayed up until 12 before realizing that she was in for the night. Silly, mommy!!

We're these prescription for her? Ours comes in a prescription liquid solution specifically for babies. He gets .6 ml 3x a day. It tastes awful, but he's never had a reaction like that.

Yeah, it's a liquid solution .5mL 2x day. I was surprised to taste such a strong flavoring for an infant's rx. Hoping the incidents are unrelated; maybe she just threw up bc she wasn't feeling great already?
Oh, if only she would tell me.
