I'm on the Spinning Babies website and I'm thinking more and more that Lucy was in a bad position during labor and delivery. They said that they're start checking PJ's position at my next appointment. How do they do this?
do you mean head up or down because my dr does this by feel on my stomach but if you are talking anterior or posterior facing i would think the only way would be with u/s
My midwives push around on the belly to figure it out. However, I find that I've gotten pretty good at figuring it out myself. I feel for the most forceful kicks - for me that's into my right ribs. I also feel for where her butt sticks out - for me thats under my left boob right now. And I pay close attention to where her hiccups feel the strongest - usually on my left side close to my hip. I'm super excited because she's in an ideal position. But she does actually move out of this position everyonce in awhile and I do everything I can to convince her to move back! )

I can feel where the baby's butt is. My MW verified for me that is what I am feeling. I can follow his back down from there and can feel where his head is. Since I can feel his butt I know he's facing my back (more or less). Ask your doc what they are feeling for next time, once they show you what to feel for it might make more sense.
