Queen size quilt in the washer?

I have a Land of Nod full/queen quilt from DD's bed that really needs to be washed. I don't see myself making a trek to the laundromat with the other kids and sitting there while it washes. Do you think I can do it at home? Am leaning heavily towards trying it. I have a front-load machine with a pretty large capacity.

    I've washed a king size quilt in our front loader and it's been fine.  I don't put it in the dryer, just drape it over kitchen chairs to dry (or put it outside if the weather is nice).  I've also washed my queen down comforter in our front loader and it's done fine.  I put it in the dryer with a couple of tennis balls and it did wonderfully.

    Today I washed our queen sized quilt and matching shams, plus a lap sized quilt and a throw all in the same load in my front loader. My quilts are homemade with thin batting though.

    I have washed or Queen comforters in out front loader no problem, I also put it in the dryer but just rotate it every 20 mins so all the sides get dry (it tends to bunch up and needs a little help here and there) but it gets done.
