  • It's my first day of break and I'm trying to decide what we should do. We had a pretty busy weekend celebrating my husband's birthday and I wanted to relax today, but I'm already thinking we should get out of the house.

I agree, I saw someone posted on carpet installing post from months ago!

  • Luci and I had a decent weekend.  DH worked all weekend, so it was just us.

I babysat for a friend on Saturday evening.  She told me initially that it was for a date for her and her DH, then I found out right before that it was actually for a double date with them and another one of our couple friends.  It made me sad.  Seriously, it was ridiculous though.  They called me 15 minutes before they were supposed to be at my house and asked if I could come to theirs, because their LO2 was still asleep.  So, I obliged.  Then after their LO2 woke up, I took all three kids back to our house.  They called me when they were supposed to be picking them up and asked if it was okay if they went to dinner too.  I said okay, because I felt like I would be the jerk if I said no.  Then their LO1 who is like 7 or 8 kept making comments about how gross it was that my shirt kept riding up in the back, she actually told me I needed to buy larger shirts.  Mind you I was sitting on the couch and she kept jumping on me.  I was more than annoyed.  Then when the parents got back two hours later than they were supposed to, they said that they thought that I would enjoy the "break" since it was just me and Luci this weekend.  Um NO!

I think the carpet post was probably spam. But it was totally random that it popped up all of a sudden.

  • @bobkat22 that sounds like a fun tradition!

@kelbel527 I hope you enjoy your day with your DH!

I realized that I never bought the last two things that I needed for Luci's want, need, wear, read gifts, so I am going to do that on Wednesday.  I have to take DH to dialysis, so I am going to go shopping afterwards.

Hey guise. It's been a bit. I've randomly posted here or there but two kids are keeping me busy. The weekend was busy and H finished up a paper for a class and then we took the kids to see Santa.
    Best.Santa.Pics.Ever. !

H just told me his BFF from high school who's getting married in March told him they are requesting no younger kids or babies at the church. Not that we were planning to bring our two as it's a later afternoon and evening affair, but I've never heard of people actually being told this...I blame his fiancé who neither H or I like. Separate issue but we both think she's a total money grubber who will end up cheating on him and taking all his money (he's a trust fund kid) and then leaving him.

  • I started potty training. It's the moment I've been dreading since she was born, but I feel like Christmas break is my last chance until the summer with the baby, and I don't want to wait that long. I hate potty training though. My mom and sil came over on Sat and helped me clean out and paint DD's big girl room. Once we get her moved, we can start on the nursery. I feel like I'm finally making some progress in this house. My brother and sil came over for tacos yesterday, and they watched DD for a bit so we could finish our shopping. Sil is one of the teachers at DD's daycare, so she is able to help some with the potty training. Thank goodness for her. I think we are goint to try and see Santa on DH's lunch and then I have to shop for baking supplies for tomorrow. Sorry for the wall o text. Tablet.

  • Today starts cleaning. I'm not sure why I try so hard to conceal the fact I am a terrible homekeeper. Not as if anyone who is coming over doesn't know that about me. I guess I don't want them to know how bad I am haha.

DD go so much stuff at our first Christmas Saturday. I don't know why I bought her anything. We still have Christmas day and my mom's on Saturday.

DH is laid off this week. It will be nice to have him around since we barely saw him at all last week. I'm so excited to give him his gifts. I was thinking of him and I exchanging our gifts on Christmas eve since Christmas morning will be a little crazy with Grace opening and such. I'd rather have a quiet time between us at least until Grace is older and things calm down. How do you and DH exchange?
  • I'm in my hometown with my family right now and last night my sister and I thought it would be a good idea to go out late night shopping after our kids went to bed. We shopped from 8:30 to 12:45. We got home and Camden decided he didn't want to sleep anymore, so I was up with him pretty much the rest of the night. I finally took him downstairs to my mom at 7am and went to sleep for a few hours.

It was so nice, however, to just be able to shop freely and not be rushed or have to keep kids entertained, and I got a ton of stuff done! Now I just have to drive home on very little sleep...

  • I need to PT Grace and I need to take the paci away. She chews them so they start to rip. Then I have to get new ones which is ridiculous since she's over 2.

I feel like she's ready to PT but she still has never peed on the potty. I stopped putting her on it because it was just fun. I don't know. I guess if she's not ready we just stop. Not like we have to continue or anything.

  • @redneckmomma, I feel the same way about my house.  I try so hard, but honestly I work full time and have a toddler.  I think very few people expect my house to be clean.  And I think your idea of exchanging alone with DH is great.  I think any time alone is a bonus and at this point, I don't know about Grace, but Luci wouldn't understand DH and I opening gifts.

I am going to buy DH something small on Wednesday.  He will probably get mad at me for it, but I am going to do it anyway.

@27boo let us know how it goes!  I am thinking good potty thoughts for you!

Aria has been sittin on the potty for about 6 months. She never peed in it until Friday at daycare and Saturday not at all. She just never seemed aware of being wet in her diaper and she is in underwear, so I decided to go for it. We've had a few small wins, but it still sucks. Everyone tells me not to turn back. I just hope they're right. I think I will go with a pullup to see Santa today. I have a few and really don't want to deal with that kind of accident. This is stressing me out.

  • Max told Indy,"You can be a dinosaur,Indy.A dinosaur nugget!" And they laughed like mad men for almost twenty minutes, with brief pauses for Max to yell, "Chicken nugget,"  and then they would crack up again. I was so proud of Max's zinger

We have a family meeting today, SS is having issues and has been hospitalized. Being a grown up sucks ass sometimes, y'all.

IV, hope the family meeting goes well. Sounds tough :/@Eastie156‌ I've had friends request no kids at their ceremony. We provided a nursery to help. I won't bring CJ unless requested but I have no beef about that request given the cost of weddings. Hopefully, she's not a golddigger. That's a terrible feeling.
All of this. I hope she's nicer than she's coming across. The no kids mandate never bothers me. I figure people can have whatever kind of wedding they want.

  • My weekend was pretty much a bust. Friday I ended up with pink eye and it took them 2 hours to fill my drops at the pharmacy. DS and I went on Target/Kohls/TJ Maxx run an hour away Saturday. He wouldn't listen worth a crap. We made it 5 minutes in Kohls before we left because he ran off on me. I felt judgy eyes on my while checking out at Target. He freaked and basically screamed. I so embarassed then to have everyone looking made it worse. Saturday night DS's humidifier leaked all over I tried to clean it up but left big puddles in the hall. I told DS to sit of course he followed me them proceeded to fall and hit his head on the floor. I dropped the humidifier in the sink and it cracked. Sunday was actually OK until I asked DH to put DS down for a nap while I ran errands. Almost 1.5 hours later I get home and he just put him down. It was 4:30. He goes to bed at 8:30 really? Why put him down. This led to him not going to bed until 11:15 after me trying everything. Then I went to get him this morning and he puked all over his bed. And now 2 more times at my parents house.

In a nut shell, the weekend sucked, I need time off to do nothing and I really hope this is our last sickness for the year.

Good Lord. She sounds like a peach. What an ungrateful guest! And it is never cool to make fun of someone's kids. This reminds me of a friend of my mom's, who's actually closer to my age. She said DS has big ears and will be made fun of, and DD has a man face. WTF?!

DH had 9 days off starting Christmas Eve. DD does great with potty training with him. I told him last night to dedictate his days off to potty training and get it done. I know he can do it easily. What mother doesn't potty train their own kid? I suck.
You don't suck!  You are smart!  If DH had the patience I would have him do it, but he doesn't.  I am thinking maybe MLK holiday weekend I might give it a shot.  I need to ask daycare to start having her sit on the potty for a bit at each diaper change.

I would jump on the chance to give this job to DH. He's working all week right now and working OOT every weekend. It kind of sucks. I'm also pretty sure he's a little too unobservant for it. GL!

A smart one, seriously I'm envious. I usually do all the "hard" stuff.

  • We had a good weekend, although different from what we originally planned. We had thought about taking the kids to Hershey Park on Saturday, but I wasn't feeling great and we really don't need to spend any more money before Christmas, so we hung around the house. The kids made ornaments for the grandparents, and we drove around to look at Christmas lights at night. Sunday was DH's grandma's 93rd bday, so we had the family to our house for brunch. It was nice to see everyone, although Grandma insists she's only 90, which is kind of sad, because she really believes it. Now, I'm back at work just today and tomorrow, then I have an entire week off. DH is already done for the year, so he's being a very good elf at home. :-)

Hooray for Reid! I'm excited that you and your DH will get a slight break tomorrow. Enjoy it!

  • Is anyone else's S12er afraid of random stuff? We went to a light display at the local zoo, and DD freaked out about the lit-up tunnel. I could see nothing scary about it, but she just kept saying, "No, scary" and clinging to me like a koala bear.

DH and I have always exchanged gifts after the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve.  We are going to try to do it with the kids this time.  I'm already second-guessing this decision.

Ha, just saw this. I would do this too. I didn't go out of the house with James the first week in underwear (except daycare). I was ballsy and didn't do any kind of car seat protection but got lucky that he never peed in his seat.
