Things you're enjoying about being pregnant

Okay, I know a lot of us are suffering and have many (very legitimate) complaints. But is there anything you are enjoying about being pregnant so far?

For me: not having a period! Okay, it's silly, and super obvious, but I hadn't really thought about it prior to getting pregnant. I've always had incredibly painful periods, bad pms, and an irregular cycle so I never really knew when the torture would strike. Not having a period for months (and knowing I have many period-free months ahead) is like this amazing revelation! Of course the discomforts of pregnancy are still there and I know there's more unpleasantness coming (not to mention labor may cancel out all the pain-free months!) But right now it's my favorite thing about being pregnant.

My old Russian great-grandmother reportedly said to my mother once, on the subject of menopause, "Happiest day of my life, when I am through with all that business. Happiest day of my life!" I know this is temporary, but that is totally how I feel right now.

  • The anticipation, having the baby all to myself right now, and I agree that not having a period is fabulous!

  • I love not having my period also I love that I am forming a special bond with my baby :-)
  • I agree the no period this is awesome, but I'm also excited I get to be a stay at home mom, something I didn't think would be possible might actually be possible :)
  • I love my bigger boobs and that I have an excuse for the muffin top. Also, my nails and hair from the prenatal vitamins.. :)
  • I love not getting a period also. Although, I'm definitely hormonal, it's different from my PMS, which made me angry. Now, I just cry more. I'm also looking forward to when it is public knowledge so I can stop trying to hide how I'm feeling.

  • I agree with a couple of the PPs. I'm still getting use to it...I'm bored, exhausted, and bitchy! On the other hand to answer your question, I do enjoy the free passes my DH gives me on cooking dinner.
  • I feel like a debbie downer, but so far I'm not enjoying anything about this. I'm very emotional, I'm always vomiting, I can barely leave my house, I can't sleep....I guess I'm  just feeling more negatives than positives. Maybe once I stop puking I'll enjoy it more, but right now I'm just ready for it to be July.

  • I enjoy knowing I only have like 5 months left of work before I'm off for 13 months. 1 yr of mat leave, and I've saved up vacation to take all of June off too. The count down is on ....
  • Honestly because of my nausea/vomiting this time I am not enjoying much. I'm hoping once my nausea eases up or goes away I will be able to enjoy this pregnancy like I did with DD.

I'm enjoying not sucking my gut in, I am not far along enough to show yet but it's so hard to suck in the bloat now that I've given up and letting it all hang out is liberating!

This!! Haha so true I love it! I always suck in all day long. Now that I'm not, I can't tell if I'm showing or just letting it hang out at 12.5 weeks lol!

It's really exciting being able to share the good news. It might seem a little strange, but I really love the support and love that we have been getting from friends and family. I'm also looking forward to getting a nice bump so I can stop trying to hide my ridiculous bloat!

I just told my sister this last night! She said "oh I can't wait for your bump to come in!" And I said "me either! At least I'd have an excuse for how I feel like I look right now!" The bloating is full force. lol
  • I love the smiles and joy, and the squeals and giggles the news has been brining. I just feel so loved. Both of our families have been through a lot for various reasons, and this little one has relit a little spark.

Oh and not getting a period and the horrible PMS I had is pretty super too.
  • I've also enjoyed the love and support (attention??) from friends and family. I am generally very quiet and shy, so it's been nice that A. Most people say congratulations or start the conversation and B. I can continue the conversation because I have something to talk about.

Also, it seems like almost everyone I know is pregnant or has young kids, so I'm excited about joining the "club".

Just picturing in my head about holding my baby makes me tear up :x But seeing the way my hubby takes great care of me. But I can't wait to feel my baby move
  • I love the idea that I'm growing a human inside me! It amazes me every time I think about it. I'm also loving the extra attention and love from DH.

  • I'm loving being pregnant. No period, I haven't been very sick, and I've got DH filling up my gas tank each week.
  • Team Not Much.

I feel absolutely miserable almost every second of the day.

Not enjoying much here either. Too sick.

I do enjoy other people's excitement, especially DD's. And I am super grateful for this baby we waited so long for and didn't know if we'd ever be able to have. But I think until I start feeling LO moving around and/or the m/s eases up, it will be hard for me to enjoy much of anything.

  • There's not much I don't enjoy. Nauseous and bloaty etc may not be fun. But it's not the end of the world. I've counties to run and work out which helps. I'm looking forward to a year off too
  • My husband treating me all special-like  it's sweet, and he's slightly overprotective, but this is our last one so I'm letting him baby me until this kid arrives.
  • Although I'm miserable some days I just remind myself that it is worth it in the end. I'm actually enjoying the crazy dreams my mind comes up with.

  • Oh and not cleaning the cat box.
  • I'm honestly not enjoying much. I like not having a period and not worrying about dieting, but that's about it. I'm bitchy, tired, have garbage skin, and generally feel like shit.
    ^this. :(

  • The sex. All that extra blood flow....amazing. Helps that the nausea is letting up a little, too.

  • I've really enjoyed the anticipation, planning with my wonderful boyfriend, and seeing and hearing the awesome reactions from everyone we tell. The no sucking in is pretty rad too. I'm looking forward to my energy coming back. And I'm loving my prenatal yoga classes :-)
  • I can't wait to feel kicks. And for everyone to know so it's not this big hushed secret.
I can't wait to meet our baby. I love how my fiancé is so in love with someone he has never even met and I feel his love for me has tripled since finding out.
I'm just a great big ole hormonal ball of emotions since my grandpas funeral today.
I just am excited to be pregnant. So many people are unable to be pregnant and I feel bad every single time I bitch about anything.
