I think my water broke but I was sent home told they didn't

I was sitting on the toilet waiting to pass a bm ... I had no desire to pee. Then all of a sudden I hear water im such a dork i thought the toilet in the back was leaking I didn't think it was me at all then I stood up and there was liquid running down my legs. And the toilet water was still clear. This was at 12:30 am. Throughout the day I had been having bh and after that episode I had lots more until I was able to fall asleep. This morning a few more bh so I went in. Only for them not to check to see if it was indeed my waters and be sent home. I'm not dilated at either.

I'm irritated they didn't check and worried as I've read women had waters break and not have for into labor, or didn't go in and had infections etc. I'm still early I understand that but I had a similar incident where again I KNEW my water had broken they told me it didn't and tried to send me home only difference I was in active labor.

I'm thinking of calling another hospital & getting a second look. oh and on the monitor it showed I was having contractions but my nurse acted like she didn't see it happening.

I don't like my dr or his nurses they say they won't run tests because waste of time and money when I have insurance that pays for all that sh*t !!

Re: I think my water broke but I was sent home told they didn't

  • Thank you. I'm on the verge of second opinion I just switched drs and from the gate I didn't like him. He just doesn't seem genuinely interested in anything I say. And doesn't check crap because he's an "expert"
  • I've had my waters break before with no noticeable leaking. And told it was pee only to have my son 7 hours later.
  • It was my doctor. He didn't even check neither did the nurse. I should have spoke up. I was really irritated. I have an appt on Monday
  • I'm 36 wks 2maro. I been have irregular braxton hicks/ period like cramping
  • So you called the office and they told you to come in and then just sent you home? Or did you go to labor and delivery?

I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love.
  • I'm pretty sure the test they do is like a litmus strip, that would take only a few seconds. I'm not sure why they did not check you if you were there but I'd get a second opinion, especially given your additional info.
