Glad everything is okay! I have had similar experiences at the ER. They don't seem very well equipped to handle obstretrics, making it even more of a stressful situation.
I already updated in OP but I remembered something.
One of the nurses cautioned me to "go slowly" with eating again, to avoid triggering the nausea. He said start with clear fluids "and so on." Not sure what and so on means...I'm guessing basic things like saltine crackers, maybe chicken soup? We have the former but not latter. I'm guessing it does NOT mean nachos, sadly, which I have. I'm sorry if this is a really basic question, my brain is so fuzzy right now. I'm going to go to bed at last.
The "so on" usually means start with clear liquids, then work your way up to broths and then soups with solids in them/smoothies, and then BRAT (i.e. Very bland foods) then progress to more and more difficult-to-digest foods. You really should have received more info before leaving, especially when it seems your diet is so important to what's going on with you.

Thank you. I figured something along these lines. Looking back, I definitely should have asked for clarification, but I was so out of it by that point. After spending 7 hours in the ER, I was exhausted and woozy and my arms were half-asleep. So not great thinking happening there. So far I have had nothing but cranberry juice, chicken noodle soup, saltines, clear sparkling juices, and water. It seems to be working all right.
