Sleeping LO

So LOs bed time is usually 7 and guess who's been napping since 530. I guess we're doing a later bed time tonight. He hasn't slept well the last couple days so I hate to wake him but I don't want to be up all night. Is this a sleep = sleep situation or sleep = your F'ed situation? Who wants to take bets?

    I never wake a sleeping baby or child if I can at all help it. In my house more sleep is always better. YMMV but I would carry on as usual with bedtime at the usual time. It may be harder to initially get them to sleep but hopefully nighttime will be fine!

    I JUST had this internal debate. I'm currently rocking LO for a nap. It's 6:20p. This might be the dumbest idea I've ever had or it might be brilliant

    Same boat! It's 5:30 and LO just conked out on me. Let her catnap or go put her in bed.....hmm.

    We refer to that as first bed. Our LO usually goes down around 6-6:30, sleeps for like 30-45 minutes, wakes up to eat, then goes back down like maybe 30 minutes later. But my LO is a weird sleeper so we pretty much just let him lead.

    Sounds like maybe you're in the 4-to-3 nap transition? DS is starting to consistently do only 3 naps, but on days he does a 4th before 6.30 or so, I just bump back bedtime til 8ish. If he wakes from the 3rd nap 5.30 or earlier, I can cut out the 4th nap and stick with bedtime closer to 7.

    As long as the nap is before 7 we are ok. If not its all bad!

    DD goes to bed around 8 and takes a nap around 6-630. It's weird. She also takes a nap about an hour or two after she wakes up in the morning. Perhaps she's resting up for all the crying she does during the day.

    He's currently in his crib just playing with his hands. I'm hoping since we did our regular night time ritual he will just happily drift off in a bit
