    I'm just saying that it often devolves into attacking the other person, and that puts them on the defensive.  The chances of them listening to your very valid points decreases once the discussion turns into an argument.

    If the objective was to actually help educate other moms and whatnot, you probably wouldn't be so rude about it.

    Usually when you're trying to help people, if you want them to listen, you need to be nice.

    Yeah but she wouldn't have changed her mind about it in the first place. If you read the OP she was proud of? amused by? the fact that she willfully endangered her kid. She would have gotten a 100% different response from me if she wasn't specifically flaunting her terrible parenting decisions as not being 'uptight and high strung.' FWIW I'd rather have a stick up my ass than have nothing between my ears.

    No, that was a while before she disappeared. And it wasn't really that bad IMO, but it was definitely a flaming.
