I love a wrinkle in time! Also, the glass castle is an incredible book and anything else by Jeanette walls. I also really enjoyed all the Sophie kinsella books ( shopaholic series) I guess I'm a 19 yr old girl at heart- they are just really fun and light and pleasant to read- I like to have happy thoughts before I go to sleep. I'm actually really looking forward to the new judy Blume book coming out, I loved her stuff when I was younger so in excited to read an adult book by her.
I really enjoyed anything by Kathleen Tessaro and anything my Miriam Toews. I guess I like a pretty random selection of good books and what some would consider trash. Totally hated the 50 shades of grey series though- am I the only woman who was not turned on? I found them to be so basic and the sex wasn't even that good, it was just very descriptive.
Patrick Rothfuss' Name of the Wind. *swoon* DH read it aloud to me while I was pregnant with DS and we were driving back and forth from our old place and new place (2 hours each way). Book 2 (A Wise Man's Fear) was just as good. Waiting impatiently for book 3.
I know a little boy named Imre . . . think about it ! (OK, I don't totally know his parents chose it because of the book, but I've never heard it anywhere else.)
If this LO is a boy, and we adopt a girl, we're thinking about Aurora, nn Auri. (ETA: our names are Gwen and Ben. Not using them both.)
I also have too many to choose, but one I will highly recommend is The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. It is a fun love story that takes place from the POV of an Australian genetics professor who has undiagnosed aspergers. Ok, it's a lot funnier than I just made it sound. Just check it out.
The better news is that in under 2 weeks the sequel comes out where there is an unplanned pregnancy, so it will be fun to see him navigate that! So excited!!!!
I'm also a fantasy reader and Christian and general fiction. I like The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley and just about anything else by her, too. I really enjoyed the O'Malley series by Dee Henderson.
I love a lot of the ones already mentioned, but the one I've read so many times is Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy. It's like a comfortable blanket I can wrap myself up in. I also really love many Margaret Atwood books, with A (The?) Handmaid's Tale at the top of that list.
Oh, Margaret Atwood, how could I have forgotten Margaret Atwood? I wrote my senior thesis about her in college.
I love reading as well. I haven't read a book in awhile because I'm studying to get my teaching certificate. Some of my favs include, The Husband's Secret, What Alice Forgot, Gone Girl and all of the Chelsea Handler books come to mind. I have a very big crush on Chelsea Handler. I love that she speaks her mind and doesn't hold anything back.
Re: GTKY favourite book!
