We were taught that my mum paid for most of the gifts and Santa looks after them, wraps and delivers. We had a few gifts from santa too.
This was only because we didn't have a lot of money and she didn't want us to question why a kid at school got more.
Which could lead to 'why does Santa prefer that kid?'
I Quite like this. As i will not be buying my kid an Ipad by age 4.

UO : I don't like it when kids that young have Ipads, phones etc. They may as well be in front of the TV if they are still looking at a screen. I like old school toys that you have to do more with. Teaching cause and effect etc.

We got my almost 3 year old his own kids Kindle for Christmas. He loves mine and plays a ton of educational games on it. DS is CRAZY smart and he just keeps learning from the apps on the Kindle. I figure we can't avoid technology forever and I bet once he's in school, everything will be electronic anyways :)
This. The kids kindle is fucking awesome. What's the difference between doing puzzles and playing memory games on a kindle or the old fashioned way?

    _______________________________________________________________________

That's exactly what DH always says to me when I start feeling guilty about DS being on the Kindle. We do old school wood puzzles too and he loves them but he learns SO much on the Kindle.

We have real puzzles too and dd loves them. But at least with the kindle there isn't a huge fucking mess to clean up afterwards. We embrace technology in this house, it's not going anywhere in the real world so we let DD use it.

I actually want AF to return. I need that confirmation from mother nature that I'm not KU again. I POAS last week because I'm so paranoid about it (negative thank God!), but I'd rather just have AF ease my mind each month.
You and me both, but you are braver than I am.  I haven't taken a test yet.  If I am KU, I'd prefer to remain blissfully unaware for awhile longer!

  • I knew coming in this thread that all the new responses were going to be raging at the cat hater. Lol.

Probably because cats have zero fucks to give and they kill things for fun. What's more awesome than that??
    Dogs.

I think kittens are really cute but don't really like cats. I know I posted this as a UO before and thankfully it flew under the radar somehow

My babies. I hope you found someone who would love and take care of you. They went with my exH in the divorce since I couldn't find a place that would allow me to take them and he and his dad put them outside after they had been indoor only cats for 6 years they went missing 2 weeks later.

    I'm sorry :(
  • If I ever become a reformed cat hater, you ladies will be the first to know.

I will admit, the baby + cat photos are kinda cute. But I'm a sucker for any pet + baby relationship captured on camera.

I swear, despite my cat problem, I'm a cool girl!

  • Another UO: when my bf's rich friends try and complain about something they can't afford to try to appear more like us little people. Umm honey my inability to pay rent and your not being able to afford the $5000 mattress you want doesn't exactly make us alike.

No we can't go out for dinner.

I would so roll my eyes and say in a snooty accent "ah yes, its been a rough year. We had to sell our second summer home just so we could afford the chopper."
