Re: FFFC

  • Let me preface by saying I LOL’d hard at the Baking Soda Gender Test thread the other day because of this:

My BFF came over the other day, and begged me to do the baking soda test with her (she is also pg). This is her first child, and she is on pins and needles about the sex, and wants to try EVERYTHING to try and figure out what the baby is. So yeah—I did the test with her. It said we were both having boys. I am pretty sure I am carrying a girl, and even if it was right, I still feel it’s total bull.

My doctor told me if my back/leg/side pains get worse to go to the ER and I'm contemplating it....I also have a nasty painful rash (not itchy!) on my back and spreading on my right leg.... Eta: the rash could have been mentioned in the randoms thread I guess. the fffc is me contemplating going to the ER...
Ouch! I'm so sorry! That sounds awful.
I would go to Urgent Care first. You can get in faster and they can probably figure it out without you spending $3,000.
Either way you decide-- good luck.

I'm sorry. I'm with everyone else I'd think a urgent care would be better than the ER. Was is close to after hours when your Dr said ER? I'm just wondering why can't your Dr fit you in today sometime instead?

I agree with PP the rash could be related .... Maybe?

Oh well Oh and I discovered the joy of leggings recently (my fat legs and spandex sounded like a horrible combo) and I am never going back. I want to live in leggings. Forever and ever. The end. Amen.
    @JerseyAKL- You are tempting me.
  • I'm not a fan of Christmas.....there I said it. Its just too busy, too expensive, and too much time spent around extended family and their drama. My parents are divorced and remarried and then throw in the in laws it's overwhelming. We have told everyone next year when LO is here we will not be leaving our house on Christmas, but it they would like to stop by they are welcome to.

I went to the ER for the pain. No shame, urgent care was already closed and I needed something a little stronger than Tylenol.

  • The whole never will I ever thread made me irrationally angry mainly because there was way to much of the mom shaming. I don't care if you are a FTM or have 19 kids, you should never say never about anything. The one thing to learn about being a parent or life in general is there is no such thing as being perfect and you should never side eye anyone for doing something you won't do.

When we did it with my DDs BMB, it became simply a list and it was fun. :-q I felt sometimes it was the IRL version of "You just wait!".

  • I haven't taken prenatal vitamins in over a 6+ weeks. Every time I did I threw up, and now I think it is a mental trigger for me. So I've been snacking on my husbands gummy vitamins and telling myself they are good enough.

Every time I took them with my first I vomited for 6 months so I doubt I ever actually got them down. I'm sure the gummy vitamins are good enough, you gotta do what you gotta do.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Here's another- I didn't participate in the "Never will I ever" thread because I read it as "Never HAVE I ever" and I didn't want to feel like a slut!

    Now I want a drink!

  • My mil is so heavily "anyone but family can't watch my grand babies" so much. It drives me nuts. Just to piss her off, I'm going to have the 15 yr old from next door mothers help me when lo gets here. I had great babysitters as a kid, and I was a fantastic babysitter/nanny as I grew up, bringing movies the kids didn't have, or my arts and crafts box to make stuff that was exciting to them because they didn't see it in their closet everyday.

I wonder wtf she did as a babysitter that she's so skeptic.

Same here. I asked my OB about it and she said that prenatals are mostly for the momma since baby will take what it needs from our bodies. They are mostly to replenish what baby takes. Made me feel a little better, and she was mostly worried about folate, so I just make sure that the gummies have folic and I eat greens. :-/

My FFFC is that I love bed sharing with DD. She comes into bed with us, usually around 3am, I get a warm, sweet, little snuggle partner for a few hours. I love it and am really sad that we are going to have to get her to stay in her own bed before new baby comes.

My ex mil was like this. It was so bad I got a friend to watch my son so we could go to dinner and she called my friend and told her she wasn't capable and made her feel horrible. Then I finally got tired of her not respecting me so I found a baby sitter to watch him when I worked and she called and threatened this lady who was an experienced baby sitter by saying she would turn her in to the state because she watched kids from her home. This poor lady was so upset that day when I picked up my son and had to tell me she couldn't keep him. I didn't have a choice, she wouldn't let anyone watch him.

  • @Pintobean39‌ oh that's awful! If mil pulls that she will surely get a earful from me. I don't get angry often, but when I do....

@AlwaysLastZZ and @lgsdesigner I love you guys, but I absolutely hate the word "butt-hurt" so much that it makes me cringe. Keep on using it, of course, because TETO, but that's my FFFC, I guess. I'm sure I'll think of a better one later.
@jerica14- You want to know something funny? I sort of don't like it either, but I am having a serious case of pregnancy brain today, and that was the first thing that came to mind. I think it's only in my vocab because I have heard it so much on TB!

This lady at DD's daycare keeps making her own parking spot and parking behind me so I can not get out when I come out from dropping her off in the AM. I nicely asked her to stop parking behind me and quit making her own spot in front of the door. She did it again and I had DH's extended cab silverado with a hitch on the back, so when she came out today I was waiting as I could not get out of the parking spot and I asked her why she thinks it's ok to make her own spot by the door while blocking people in, she started yelling at me, so I calmly said, see the hitch on the back of my truck, the next time you park behind me I will not hesitate to put it though your bumper.......she quickly jumped in her car and flew out!

I think I love you! I would have done the same thing.

  • My FFFC: I'm still not in maternity pants, and I'm jealous of those who are.

I had a pudgy belly before my pregnancy (from pizza, not former children...) and wear my pants on my hips, so I still mostly fit in my old clothes. They are getting tighter by the day, but I'm holding off till Christmas to see what I get from family first....I really can't wait for some comfy maternity pants though!
  • My FFFC: I don't post as actively as I would like to. I work out of town mon-fri and don't have wifi so I'm always on mobile and the 3G network here is sooooo slow. So I usually avoid posting on any fast-moving threads because it takes so long to refresh and I get annoyed. I do read them for entertainment though:)

@babymcb21 I'm jealous. I haven't fit in my regular clothes since like week 10...and not because my belly grew.
  • FFFC: big family party tomorrow which I normally love but my know it all aunt is coming and will have me cornered drilling me about the pregnancy and when it comes out that I am planning on starting to FINALLY work (after 7 years of school) she's going to give me shit and I already know I'm going to be snotty

  • I think parents who spank their children are either uneducated parents and/or shitty parents. I was "spanked" as a child (I used quotes for spanked because it was spanking plus worse stuff), and I will never do that to my kids. Ps- I mean parents who use spanking as a regular punishment...not if you fuck up once and regret if after.

  • <----- mom of the year.

My son got out of school early today and I fell asleep on the couch and forgot. He had to call and ask where I was. </p>

On Wednesday DS3 went back to daycare after a week off. He was supposed to start his half day schedule but I forgot and he fell asleep. His day care provider texted me just to make sure I was okay and not that something happened to me.

My FFFC - I was a little shocked yesterday at how many more people are passionate about putting their child on a leash than spanking them.
I missed this. I'm team "leash" my kid is a runner and I'd rather have her leashed than in traffic. Sorrynotsorry.
It was in the never will I ever thread, but if you're team leash it might just work you up
Ahh, I will avoid. I already wanted to crack skulls yesterday of the ones claiming good sleepers are not "luck" but because of the hard work of the parents. I said my piece (peace?) but couldn't go back because I work hard (maybe harder than anyone I know) to get my kid to sleep and she just doesn't. I won't even go into details. But karma will get me for the thoughts I had yesterday...
I, too, have a poor sleeper. I am convinced he was just born that way since nothing I do changes his sleep habits. Fingers crossed we are both more lucky sleep-wise with our second.

  • I think there is a fine line between being an advocate and being a crazed over the top zealous person. I feel like a lot of people I have come in contact with (IRL and on the interwebs) don't realize this and are the latter but claim to just be an advocate.

  • I say "love tit" in my head in an obnoxious tone everytime I hit the button. Which is a lot. Because I'm a love tit whore.
@xbreannalynn- Just for that comment, I gave you a love tit.
  • I hate when my kids are in my bed - 6 and 3 y/o. Not that I think it's wrong, not that I haven't done it to try to get sleep but I do not sleep if they are in my bed. So I end up moving them back to their bed. I feel like I am the only parent who doesn't like sleeping in the bed with their child but I need my space.

Don't be! We are all shaped and grow so differently. I'm more jealous of the ladies in maternity wear lol. My belly hasn't popped yet (no HDBD pictures for me :(), so I just look like my stomach has gotten larger. I've actually grown all over, but not enough so things dont fit I guess. But I dont think my regular clothes days will last much longer!
