Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Gerber Foods - serving size

How many TBSP are the 2nd Foods Gerbers?  For instance if I'm supposed to give DS 4TBSP of a veggie at a meal, is that 2 of the cans/jars??

How much is your 7 month old eating for foods - how many veggie and how many fruits a day?  Still eating cereal?

Re: Gerber Foods - serving size

  • Can I ask why your supposed to give him 4 tbsp?  My understanding of 4 Tbsp is that it's 1/4 cup (correct me if I'm wrong).  DD is just turning 8 mos but last month she would eat 1/4c cereal and a stage 1 fruit for breakfast, for lunch was formula and for dinner she'd eat 1-2 stage 2 items (like an entree and a veggie or a fruit)

  • DS is about 6.5 months and eats way more than a few TBSP at each meal....

He generally eats about 1/4C. at each meal. We do cereal/fruit for BF and a veggie for dinner....

uhh 4th cup is 4 tablespoons

8 oz is a cup.  divide from there based on what is on the packages, and 4th a cup is 4 tablespoons.  SO 2 oz = 4 tablespoons.

  • 1/2 ounce is 1 Tbsp...there are about 3 ounces in a 2nd stage so that's about 6 Tbsp.
  • There are 2 tablespoons in one ounce.  The Gerber Stage 2's are 2.5 ounces each I believe.

My 7 1/2 month eats about the equivalent of one Gerber fruit or vegetable a day (she also eats Earth's Best).  For breakfast she has whole grain oatmeal and half a fruit and for dinner she has oatmeal and half a vegetable or dinner.  Just this week she has needed a lunch so I'll do either yogurt or half a dinner or half a fruit or vegetable.

  • Looks like you're getting a bunch of conflicting answers on how many tablespoons are in an ounce.  Just google it and you'll find your answer.
