@mrsclark731 sorry to hear about your sciatica! I really hope you can treat yourself to massages etc (even if it can't get rid of the pain).
@racheltherose sorry to hear about your ms. Mine hasn't disappeared either, however after 5 days straight of puking (intermittently) I've now had 2 days straight with just nausea. I hope you get some breaks, too!
My spam: WTF is up with me eating in the middle of the night, half asleep?!?! Seriously! I just did it again last night. I wouldn't be so pissed if I would eat a banana or something at 4am in my sleep but I ate the rest of the chocolate chip cookies. I think I have a problem.
I'm getting nervous that we're not going to get Christmas bonuses at work this year. Normally we would have them by now. I'm really kind of depending on that bonus and I'm going to be super bummed if we get zilch.
Good morning ladies! Sorry it's been so rough for some of you. I'm also getting first tri symptoms again. Mostly heartburn and I just don't want to eat at all.
I'm a SAHM so I'm working until my due date. Lol. With DD, I worked until about a week before she was born.
Ughhh work. I just keep reminding myself I only have three more days until I get a break. Taking all of next week off and then three days around New Years to go to the Rose Bowl! Then back at it, but only 8 weeks till baby, what!
My boss keeps throwing new projects my way. At what point can I say, listen, I think it's time for me to focus on wrapping up and prepping our department for my leave rather than taking on new stuff that will be left open ended?
@nbad311 - I would cry over pugs, too. I am experiencing the major feels this past week. Road kill shouldn't make a girl cry.
Road kill makes me cry when it's kitties... I have to pass a shelter on the way home and every once in a while a kitty will have escaped only to make it to the busy highway I say "poor kitty" every time I see this...
Also, rabbits, squirrel... really anything makes me sad...

It always makes me sad, for sure. I turn away if I can. I mean, possums have been known to make me well up a bit. I feel like I should be desensitized to deer at this point though. Nope.
So I'd gone 15+ years driving without hitting an animal ever, until I hit a squirrel a few months ago. I was traumatized a bit, but didn't cry. However, I saw a semi hit a possum also recently on a 2-lane road, and I was traumatized AND teared up a bit. And they're not even really that cute.
I have a really stupid question, especially stupid since I'm a STM. I thought the spam thread might be okay to ask. When you're in labor, probably full contractions, headed to the hospital, but before actual pushing and stuff, can you still feel baby kicking?
@freegiraffe I finally had to corner my manager and be like "ok, this is what needs to happen and when it needs to happen, otherwise you're out of luck when this baby arrives."
He was all... ok, I guess that's coming up fast huh?
Morning! Gave my first final today, only 5 more to go.
I get that coworkers want to make conversation, but why do you need to tell me a tragic story and scare me. We don't even have to talk about the fact I'm pregnant but I don't know you that well and this story about your cousin who I definitely do not know is upsetting me. Ughhh.
I certainly don't tear up at road kill. Additionally, opossums in particular are creepy - they have creepy people hands and ugly rat tails.
On the critter topic. We still have 1 willy little mouse in our house. It has survived our first round of killings. After which I left baited traps for a week, didn't notice any new evidence of mice, then took them down. Cue the next week, when I go to make dinner and there spew rice around - there was a hole chewed in the bag. Mouse is back! (and apparently he liked seasoning on his rice because he ate through a taco seasoning packet as well) Set traps again - and nothing. I can't catch this mouse. I tried peanut butter, cheese whiz, little pieces of various cheese - and combinations there of (piece of cheese smooshed into PB etc.) NOTHING. This mouse is definitely a survivor and is getting on my nerves. I don't want to have to check all my food every time before I eat it. He needs to die. Ironic that at work I breed mice and do surgery on them - trying to keep them alive, but in my home life I'm all like DIE MICE DIE!!!
Pet rats are very different than a wild mouse in the house. I would have a pet rat! Their tails are kind of weird but I think they are cute and funny.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

@misshart00 The answer is yes, but it's also normal for baby to not be moving as much (especially compared to what you may be experiencing right now). I attended a friend's birth and not only was the baby kicking, but she was turning her head back and forth while she was crowning. Ohhhh my friend was NOT happy. Lol. She is now very much in favor of epidurals.

I was actually hoping you would answer since you've done this a few times. I just really could not remember what happened with her movement during labor with DD. But I do remember she kept putting her hand up by her ear causing problems (but I had already had an epi so I couldn't feel it).

I sat down and did that a month or so actually. My manager is good but I do have to constantly push back on another manager I report to for soemthings. The document helps.

Now I'm starting to feel a little guilty because my comment about epidurals could be a bit of a *trigger* for anyone who is studying hypnobabies/hypnobirthing... I apologize!!
ETA: Babies are born with a reflex that if you touch the bottom of their feet, they will push back. I have heard a theory that when you are having contractions, the baby will use that same reflex to help with the birthing process. I have no idea if this is true or not and how in the world it could be shown to be true.

You can try cat pheromone to keep mice away. It even works to get rid of them sometimes. It's cheap, so it's worth giving it a go. It is not sold for this purpose. Typically it is sold to stop cats from scratching, spraying, being BSC. It is colorless and odorless. I'm assuming you do not have cats of course. Normally they fix mouse problems.
Have you tried peppermint oil? I swear by this. Get 100% pure peppermint oil and soak cotton balls. I hide them all over. Apparently, mice can't inhale the smell.. I don't know, but it seems to work. I used the cotton rounds and that was was worthless, it seems like the cotton balls work better at keeping the smell longer.
I want to try to cat pheromone.

Ah, we get a half snow day today. Kids are dismissed in 15 min. I'm going to pick up DS and my nephew from school, go home, and relax. I cleaned last night and I'm excited to do nothing.
I have a chiropractor appt today at 3:15. My back is so messed up. Tomorrow, I have a prenatal massage, and Friday, I have an OB appt. Then I am off for 2 weeks. I'm hoping all these appts make the rest of the week go by fast.

I have a FTM question: I need to take diapers to the hospital for LO because the hospital doesn't provide them (Ireland makes you bring in all your own stuff for you and baby). How many diapers do I need for a 48 to 72 hour stay? Is one pack of newborn diapers enough?
@seamonster, it really depends on the baby. Our hospital provides a small pack of newborn diapers (I don't even know how many are in a pack actually) and if we go through them all, they will bring us more. Some babies I've had go through all of them in 48 hours and some have not. Hopefully you will have someone available who can bring up anything you need?
I saw this blog on another BMB and really enjoyed reading it. Although some may agree or not agree, it moved me to tears. Brought on a lot of happy and scared emotions, especially being a FTM.
Did you find out what happens to us if we have a snow day while out on maternity leave? Do we reap the benefits like everyone else or are we still using our PTO since we didn't intend on working?
My hubby was able to "fight" with his HR department and get his back...but I think it was a full snow day and not in the middle of maternity leave. He teaches in public school.
I have my department party tonight. Its at one of those drink wine and learn to paint a masterpeice places. I can't drink wine, and I'm pretty artistically challenged....I did a learn to draw Mickey thing at Disneyworld a few years ago, and mine did not look like Micky. I think I have to chip in for this thing too. Booooo. I'm trying to think of an upside, but haven't really come up with one yet. Anyone need a shitty xmas gift to give to shitty in-laws?
My office is talking about doing this, and like you, I'm not drinking and I am NOT artistic at all. But hopefully you'll have fun with the people there!
I'm getting nervous that we're not going to get Christmas bonuses at work this year. Normally we would have them by now. I'm really kind of depending on that bonus and I'm going to be super bummed if we get zilch.
My little office threw me a surprise baby shower yesterday at our Christmas lunch and they were the ones that bought the infant carseat! I almost cried! (I was too stunned to take photos, though).
So... I'm positive I'll mention again in spam tomorrow but DH is having oral surgery tomorrow and I'm having a mini meltdown bc I won't be there w him... I'll be at work... I'm sure I'll be completely unproductive after lunch...

Just got back from office party. Way better then expected...check out my art!! Totes hanging it somewhere in the house. Hands down best art I've ever done!
These movements in the belly are starting to hurt.
Solidarity love tit. Until this week movements were kind of nice. Most the time they still are, but lately sometimes I gasp with the weird discomfort. Not pain, exactly.
