  • Want to TP one of the managers I support. He knows that I am workings mornings only this month and asked at 10 am if I could do a teleconference this afternoon. Ummm, no. I have plans. Didn't tell him that my plans involved shopping with C and taking a walk. I don't have much leave left and I am not going to give up an afternoon of it due to poor planning on his part.

    Married 10/06

    Baby Girl "C" arrived on 10/07/14 (39 weeks, 6 days)

  • Final got back home from taking care of my Dad. Got DDs passport resubmitted since the post office screwed up. Put her child care deposit down, she's starting the 19th of
    Jan!

    Now we are just waiting for Friday for my DH to get back, 3 weeks is a long time when baby is growing this fast.

  • @sabby2 I normally can tell which ones are older by how much of the fat has settled to the top. You have about 8 days you can keep it in the fridge, has it hit that mark yet?

  • I am also a weepy mess. Yesterday there was a news story about a new mom who's cancer came back and they gave her a year to live. Her baby looked the same age as ours. I had a big ugly cry.

    Remember when I thought the baby would be in the crib by the time I returned to work?  =))
    We still haven't put the crib up ....where is my MOTY trophy?
    I'm stuffing, addressing (with printed labels - the horror!!) and sealing envelopes for Christmas cards. I really wish I had a sponge. Blech

    Hope you splurged on the good envelopes!  (every time I like an envelope I think about that Seinfeld episode)

    So today instead of seeing my little guy at lunch I am going to a luncheon with people from work.  It is going to be a long day without seeing his little face.

  • Ugh, we leave for a 21 hour roadtrip to disney on Saturday and my throat feels like sandpaper!! Also, family photos on Friday and about eleventy billion things to do....

    Maybe this is best left for the FFFC or maybe I shouldn't share it at all but oh well....I shit myself today ladies. Yes, I've gotten the stomach bug that my whole family has had and this morning...I shit my pants a little bit. Not cool. And guess where I am now? WORK!
    Oh man, that's the worst.  I'm sorry that happened to you!
  • This is the first time I've opened the randoms thread today. Clingy sick baby and grumpy bored toddler make for not the greatest day...I'll catch up now that they're both sleeping!

    Speaking of sleep, I may have created a problem. Monday I told DS1 that when he went to sleep for his nap, daddy would come home and wake him up. He went right to sleep, and when he woke up, daddy was home (nap time works out that way), so he was super happy. Same thing yesterday. Well, today he's asked to nap since 9am because he wants daddy to come home. :/ I finally told him he could nap at 2, and he ran to his room saying "YAYYY" and practically jumped under the covers. DH will be home soon, and he'll be overjoyed.

    ...but what if he wakes too early? What if one day DH has to work late? He's convinced that it's the sleeping that brings daddy home. How can I fix this yet keep the convenience of not having to fight him on naps??

  • Sorry @nicb13.  That sounds awful.  I love tit just because it looks like you needed so support.  That is one of my worse fears.  Being human is hard!
  • @Nicb13 I hope you feel better soon.
    I fear this happening whenever I'm sick.

    Did a 30 second plank and almost died.

    This made me literally LOL because I know the feeling. Death by planking is real.
    It really is. I was shocked at how badly out of shape I am! When H gets home I'm going to go out and walk a few miles.

    I really should try and get in shape too. I may try the 30 day challenge again as I'm so unfit. I tried walking up a hill with my double buggy and thought my lungs were going to explode from huffing so much.
    I think 30 seconds is pretty good for a first go in a while.
    I'm going to ease into the 30 day shred. I don't want to start out and get discouraged by how hard it is for me to do. I also want to try the couch to 5k program.

  • First time stopping into the bump today.  We've been extra busy with holiday stuff today.  Currently waiting on DH to get home so we can bake some sugar cookies.

    To all you ladies who are sick or have sick LOs, I don't know how you do it.  Props, and I hope you feel better soon!

    @windwithfingers

    I'm jealous - we never did them and I'm sort of regretting it now!

    I survived the two month appointment alone! But oh man, did I cry when he got his shots. His little piercing cry broke my heart. We have an hour to hang out at the house before head to the airport to pick up my H. I'm so happy he's going to be home with us! I'm also really proud of myself for doing these last 5 weeks alone. I've doubted myself as a mom because the first few weeks were not even close to my romanticized view of motherhood. Mad props to all of us ladies. We are awesome.
    @apk4

    You're awesome, lady!!  So happy your DH is finally home!  Hope you guys have a GREAT reuinion!! :)

    If it makes you feel any better, I feel like post labor I have a ton more "emergencies" than previously, and if I get the stomach flu... Yeah.....

    Feel better, lady!  Hope it passes quickly.

  • Any ideas? This kid will NOT nap for more than 40 minutes. We've let him sleep on me and DH, we took a car ride, tried every possible sleeping surface and we are lucky if we even get him to fall asleep. Tried swaddled and not swaddled. He's tired, very tired but fighting it like his life depended on it.
    @geetargirl05

    if he doesn't sleep does he at least "relax" or lay anywhere quietly?  Even if I can't get S to sleep he will often just veg out in his swing.

    Another idea is white noise (if you haven't tried it already).
