I've read practising proper posture and the right gentle muscle exercises such as pulling your belly button in as if towards your spine during pregnancy can help prevent abs separating and that it isn't something that will inevitably happen. I googled it yesterday as I was curious being a FTM due March. I'm not certain if this is correct information or not though as Google is full of nonsense opinions presented as fact.
