It's crazy how much this place has slowed in the last month or so. I mean it is 8:15 am and no spam yet? That is crazy.
I have a Dr appointment today and then spending the rest of the day cleaning like a mad women since my parents will be arriving either tomorrow night or Friday. Wahoo! Although I am worried my mom is going to have a very difficult time here. We are in a 3 story townhouse and she is having extreme weakness right now. Lifting one of her legs is a struggle

I can see the SUN for the first time in 11 days. Hurray!! I have my 32-week doctor appointment today. It's 7:22 and the kids are still sleeping. I'm about to go make them some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Nummy. Only 3 more school days this week, then we get to take a major break for Christmas. I'm hoping I can come up with some good ideas for how to spend our time off together as a family instead of just vegging out on video games the entire time. Marching on...
I have my department party tonight. Its at one of those drink wine and learn to paint a masterpeice places. I can't drink wine, and I'm pretty artistically challenged....I did a learn to draw Mickey thing at Disneyworld a few years ago, and mine did not look like Micky. I think I have to chip in for this thing too. Booooo. I'm trying to think of an upside, but haven't really come up with one yet. Anyone need a shitty xmas gift to give to shitty in-laws?
Finally hit 32 weeks today, and boy am I feeling it. Morning sickness is still a thing as I'm trying to choke down my breakfast so I don't get the "afternoon-I'm starving" sickness. Oh being pregnant, you're fun.
Doctor appointment tomorrow, but it's my first in a while without an ultrasound! Just need to get through today without killing my coworker. Wish me luck. This is my last official week dealing with her.
How many of you are working up until your due date? I'm determined to keep this LO cooking until then, and I work a desk job so I don't see why I couldn't.
Happy hump day! I have a ? For those of you who are getting newborn photos and those of you who are photographers:
There is a photographer I really love but the photos (digitals) she will give me will only be able to be printed up to 5x7-anything larger needs to be ordered through her. Is this pretty standard? Our wedding photos had no size limitations like this so I am balking a little bit at having this restriction, mostly because things change and if we wanted larger prints later on and couldn't track her down, that would suck.

Hmmm I personally don't do this, I just give digital images with rights to print. I can see why she does ($$) tho. I don't know any other photographers in my area that do
@racheltherose I was planning on it, but after looking into it the 31st is my last day for several reasons. I will be a SAHM so I wasn't worried about maternity leave but I am so glad I will get a little time to get the house organized. I am also slowing down quite a bit and my non desk job is slowly starting to wear me out! But i know a lot of people who do work up until the end without a problem. Can you work from home?

aggiebug Unfortunately I can't work from home and I plan to return to work after my STD runs out so I want to spend as much time with the LO after he's born rather than before. They did say they could tentatively put me on the schedule the week I'm due so if I'm really not feeling up to it, I won't be screwing my coworkers over by not coming in. I think that's what I'll do and then just plan on working when I can after my due date if he's late.
@flyster so we will get digitals but only 150 dpi which I guess can only be printed to 5x7 before they start to pixelate. There is someone else substantially more expensive but she gives you everything. So I am torn-it is a $250 difference.
Mrs. Zee You'll have to consider how much you'd spend in prints with the other photographer. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra $250 up front and be able to do what you please with the images
@racheltherose I fully intend to work up until my due date. I did last time, so as long as no issues arise, I see no reason not to do it again. Any time I don't take before baby arrives means more time with baby after she's actually here.
@Mrs. Zee most photographers in my area (myself included) offer print only packages or print + DVD packages. My print + package means that the client orders prints through me at first, then also receives digital copies of select images on a DVD, with print rights, up to size 8x10.
So evidently I've forgotten how to walk in heels... I left my black flats in the car and have been forced to wear the spare pair of heels under my desk... and I just twisted the shit out of my ankle walking to refill my tea... In a 1 inch heel...

Yeah unless there are no other options, I'd pay for one that gives you the rights. Even though I get why she does it too, everything I do is digital kwim? Worth it to pay for the rights IMO.
DS had his 3 year check-up yesterday. My tiny little peanut, who has been at 5% or less (or even below the charts) for weight his entire life, is now in the 22nd percentile for weight!
He gained 5 lbs since June alone (now at 29lbs 2oz), and grew 3" (now 38.5") since June as well. The sense of relief I feel is so wonderful I can't even explain it.
His pedi was so shocked when the numbers popped up on her screen that she measured and weighed him a second time to double check.
My spam...okay I'm annoyed and frustrated and need to get this off my chest so I can get over it and move on
The midwife practice I'm with is the same one we used with DD. I was given the same team that delivered DD as well which I was so excited about. 2 months ago my team got switched, I was pissed off but I get it things happen, etc. I was booking my apts trying to meet both new midwives and to have DH come and meet them as well.
Yesterday he came with me to meet the one I had not met yet however we ended up meeting with some random who then tells me my team has been switched! Come on!
I spoke the receptionist and she explained the situation and understood my frustration but obviously these things happen sometimes. The reason I chose midwifery care was the continuity of care so I'm just bummed that this is happening again.
It's hard for me, a life long control freak, just to go with the flow. I wanted to know the person who was going to deliver my baby and have a little rapport and trust. Now it's unlikely that I will be able to meet everyone before delivery.
Anyway, vent over...attempting to get over it and be more zen.
I think I've passed out of the funk. Unfortunately, it has been at the expense of appetite and sleep (and possibly a lot of good feelings in my marriage) over the past 4 days.
SIL and I have a Skype date set for sometime on Friday (just waiting to see what kind of schedule they'll be running that day) so I'll get to see the nephew. We're also setting up one on Christmas day just because coordinating schedules will be easier beforehand.
In other news, things are moving forward with regards to this U18 Girls' tour in March that a friend and I are organizing and that is super awesome. We're putting together funding letters and plans on Thursday and trying to organize a training field for the new year.
DH has his driving test today in about an hour and I'm hoping he passes.
Im with @aggiebug I will be a SAHM after this baby so my last day of work is actually christmas eve! Taking two weeks to go be with family then will have weeks 36-? To be home and relax clean and get organized. I cannot wait! My job is too physical plus commuting in Chicago via public transport in Jan is down right dangerous with all the ice.
@KristinMTBell yeah that is mostly the plan. You have to go up stairs to get to our main floor. And the bedrooms and bathrooms with showers are on the 3rd floor. So she will have to do stairs daily. We shall see how it goes. We are waiting on some results from the Dr so hopefully it is something we can get some prescriptions and at least manage the symptoms.

I may or may not have accidentally worn my mocassins (aka, slippers) to work today.....I swear it was an accident. Going to try and limit how often I need to leave my desk now.
My husband changed the sound on his alarm to the most high pitched screeching noise I've ever heard. I don't know why he did this and I do not approve.
DHs alarm is a rooster crowing at an awful high volume.. Its horrible! I feel your pain.
Only one more day of work before winter break!! Yay! Drs appt got moved from yesterday to Thurs because doc got called out to delivery.. Boo. Ready for winter break!
Yesterday at my OB appointment my doctor noticed my sciatica limp and warned me that at this point in the pregnancy it may not go away, even if baby girl decides to stop smushing the nerve. Ugh. The hip pain is crazy too....I've been up since 2 AM.
Good news at the appointment--baby girl is doing well. The doctor says she is 'tall', head down but slightly to my left and semi-oblique, and big. She ordered an ultrasound for 36 weeks. I'm excited we get to see her again before her big arrival.
Thank goodness I work from home, or else I'd be fired 100x over by now. I have SO MUCH admiration for those of you that report for work every day. Also, if I wasn't a FTM my other children would hate me by now, I'm sure.
Today the mobile dog groomer is coming to give the pups their Christmas cuts and baths. Tonight is also the last of our 'Labor Basics' class at the hospital. I need to find the strength to vaccuum my house sometime today as well. The hair balls floating on my wood floors are beyond disgusting.
@mrsclark731 I feel you on the hip pain..I could cry its so bad today. Im going to attempt to atleast go to one store for some xmas shopping..yay for a half day at work!
Ugh random vent... a girl that works in my office and frequently uses the printer behind my desk is coughing and has the freakin plague. STAY AWAY FROM ME!!! Idk if it's because I'm so tired today or what, but I better not be feeling like I'm coming down with something.
@racheltherose , you still have morning sickness? I'm so sorry! That stinks! And yes, I am totally working up til my due date. I want as much maternity leave on the hind side LO's arrival to be at home! Even if it means trudging my big butt to work past 40w!
@wirtlehm are your calves cooperating with the heels? Mine forgot how to function without going into charlie horses when I put pumps on!
Today is my work shower day. I haven't always had the nicest things to say about my job, but I do enjoy my co-workers immensely. I do believe they seem to enjoy me too (I guess it pays off to work hard and always wear a smile at work?), because there were 50+ who RSVP'd Yes for attending today. They even insisted DH come, so he'll be making his way up here later. My only qualm is that if there is even one pug item or onesie that makes an appearance, I'm going to cry in front of a huge crowd. I can feel it. I've been ALL THE FEELS in the past week or so.
3 more weeks of work and then I'll just be teaching yoga, but probably no more body work. Really not loving the idea of having no income as $600/month is not income for two people IMO.
It's a rainy morning here in Phoenix which of course is rare, so me and my workout buddy are procrastinating our workout. The chickens are molting and look ridiculous.
Had my first breast feeding dream last night and I'm surprised I didn't wake up leaking milk it was so real. Also strangely beautiful so hopefully a sign of good things to come.
I'm another one that is working til this LO pops out. I want every moment I can have with her at home. I have already gotten the question here of when I will be heading out -- my response -- well it's kind of up to her.
We are taking maternity pictures this weekend and both DH and I have no idea what we are going to wear.
We made a mad dash to Target last night hoping to find something and pretty much turned up empty handed.
I also made the mistake about 4 months ago to agree that DH could grow his beard out as long as he wants as long as he cuts it before the baby is born......I did not take into consideration maternity photos. ughhhhhh. Oh well, a deal is a deal.
@racheltherose You're better than me. I would make her feel super uncomfortable by spraying Lysol every time she comes near and pulling the collar of my shirt over my face to talk to her. But I'm a mean girl.
LOL I was tempted. Every time she starts a coughing fit I cringe. I can't afford to be sick right now between work and the holidays coming up.. oh and you know, while I'm growing a human being.
nbad311 luckily the MS isn't toooo terrible and it's not every day. Just the past 2 weeks have been rough, and then on and off before that. I'll take that any day over what some of these other girls are dealing with!
@nbad311, they were doing ok, however, my maternity pants are a little short to wear w heels so I ended up running out to my car for my flats. We are having the dept Christmas party today, complete w superlatives, and I'm assuming some people maaaaaay have put me down for "most likely to sleep through a meeting" so I didn't want photos of me in high waters w heels floatin' around the office!
