My dad backed my new car into a landscape post this summer. I know The seat was vibrating and the camerara showed it and everything but he still hit it. Thankfully it hit the bumper and we can get it fixed easily. But our dumb body work guy just keeps telling me to call back instead of making me an appointment.

@PenelopePond‌ We are going to Cape Coral. I've never been there and I'm excited for the sun, warm weather and pool!!

  • @AKB090609‌ congrats on him getting a new job but wow that's a lot of travel! I think my H works a lot but he's at least home every night. Hopefully the baby starts sleeping more for you and you have some help so you get a break too. And I like @jenndub‌ 's idea. Hopefully you can enjoy some peaceful nights of watching some trashy tv!!

  • For you makeup smart people, does liquid foundation always show every line, pore, and hair on your face?  I got some Clinique acne stuff.  I spent a dumb amount on it and a brush.  I hate it.  I'm hoping I'm doing it wrong.

Usually it's best to put a primer on your face first. It helps fill in the lines and then let's the makeup do its job. I use bare minerals primer.

  • I would do apps and dips, fingery foods.  Enough to be a lunch, but not such a formal sit-down thing.

I thought I had skirted my supplement-selling neighbor because I was unable to go to her big opening party.  She can see my car home the past two days, and so she's called me in the middle of the day.  I know I need to answer and just tell her I'm not interested.  I thought I pretty much did that last time, but I guess she's not taking a fucking hint :(  I wish she would take a hint, but I know I need to grow some balls.  I feel a little claustrophobic that she can see in my house.
I still can't understand who's going to try to sell supplements to a pregnant person.  It just seems like a d-bag move.
@Tinyhumantoe, just print this little blip out and hang it on your door, her door, your car, whatever....

If she doesn't get the hint... then we know she really is an idiot

I always use liquid, so I would say no. I wonder if it's too drying for your skin.

It could be that it's too heavy of a formula.  Especially if it's for acne, it's probably made more like pancake makeup, so it will definitely be a little more cakey. :-(  Sorry @penelopepond.

Ahhh.  Good to know.  Thanks! :)

  • @MelsaX, hugs. :-(  You're not a bad friend.

No matter if you're on meds or not, some days are just going to suck & be harder than others. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Man, this was a long ass thread for S12! I can't even remember everything I read. Guys, I am so pissed off with myself. I let my anxiety get the better of me on Saturday, and decided not to go to a good friends engagement party because I didn't want to face people I went to uni with. Well, she got married, it was a surprise. Now I feel terrible. Worst friend ever right here. Does anyone else find that even though they are on meds some days are still so, so bad?
Hugs @MelsaX, I can't even imagine dealing with PPD on top of all the other daily life struggles. :-( You had no way of knowing this was going to be a surprise wedding. Don't beat yourself up. Suffering from anxiety does not in any way may you a bad friend. I hope you soon find you have more good days than bad.

  • Thank you to whomever (did I use whom right?) suggest the gift exchange be a sock exchange.  This is/was fun!

I believe it was @hmp1. She has the best ideas!!

And, @jenndub, I'm not usually one for drama (which is a lie because I do love drama) but I am quite curious as to who it is.......

  • I can't imagine telling Nancy she can't have any of her disgusting fruit snacks.  She'd probably die from disappointment.

I buy the Annie's bunny ones.  They taste like ick to me, but she loves them.  She gets one every day on the way home from the sitter's.  She calls them car fruits. :-)
They're bunny snacks at our house because they started out as Annie's but then I got cheap and started buying the Mott's version.

So, DH got a new job yesterday, and as happy and excited as I am for him to be making more money/moving up I'm not looking forward to the changes it is already bringing. He got the job at 10am yesterday came home and told me he needs to go to three states in the first two weeks of January and 3 weeks in Asia by the end of February.

Also my 2 year old has been crying ALL day she can't tell me what's wrong, so I gave her meds she's still crying and all I want to do is take a nap.
Oof that's rough.  Will he always have to be traveling a lot, or just a couple months a year?

I hope your DD feels better.  Any chance she'll lay down with you?

It will be more travel in general, but the next 3-6 months will be the most for a while, then he says he will keep it to 1 week per month, with Asia twice a year and Europe 4-6 times a year everything else will be in the U.S. and Canada.

I got her up to see if she wanted to snuggle, now she's not crying she just wants to hug her red bowl, kids are weird...

  • @melsax I am sorry that you are struggling!  PPD/A is so hard to deal with any time, but I think holidays make it harder.  You absolutely are not a bad friend and had no way of knowing it was going to be their wedding.  {{Big internet stranger hugs}}

@harti09‌ ugh, that's so frustrating. Why can't people just hang out and be normal?!! We all need friends, let's just all be non-judgy and non-sketchy towards each other!!

I think I'm being shunned or something by the MoMs club I'm a part of. I hosted a cookie exchange and decorating playgroup this morning. Only one person came (it's very rare to have less than 4 participants). She's part of the club leadership and asked a lot of questions, like odd, researching about me questions. She didn't even want to exchange cookies with me! I stayed up late last night making 3 different kinds!

The holiday party was last week and I didn't attend (not what how I wanted to spend my Friday night). She referenced everyone talking about my playgroup during it.

I'm so weirded out. She gave a lot of unsolicited advice on the kids too. Ugh, so not a good time.
I'm really trying with this group, but I'm pretty sure we're not clicking.

You guys would totally come to my playgroup right? Who turns down cookies?

Um, that breaks my heart a little.  You know we'd all be there.  Cookies or no cookies.  I'd kill for some mom friends by me to hang out with and have fun.  You're doing an awesome job with your two.  I'm not sure what kind of advice you'd need, unless you specifically asked for some.  If there were other groups in your area I'd start looking.  Chances are there are some other perfectly normal, cool people that this group didn't click with either.

I'd come without the promise of cookies!  Why do Mom's make it so hard on each other?  Sorry it was so weird.

There is only one poster on our board that I can't stand. I just skip over her comments without reading them and I don't bother opening any threads she starts. When she likes my comments or responds to something I said, I roll my eyes. I'm such a bitch about it.
I just liked your comment. ARE YOU ROLLING YOUR EYES?!?!?! :-SS
HAHA, I thought this too. Then I realized @jenndub replied to my lasagna soup post, and all was right in my Internet world again. :-p
I really want to guess who it is, but I don't want to start more shit.  Like I said, I'm easily annoyed, and have a short list ;)

  • The holidays are very bad for my productivity.  I just want to go home and bake cookies with my kiddos and dream about the much larger kitchen I will have next year for holiday baking.

After this week, I'm only working 2 days the rest of the month (until the 5th actually) - but I'm already mentally checking out.  And since I just finished my last big budget meeting for the year, there's nothing super critical right now.
