Protecting LO from the sun

So this wasn't something I had to think much about since we're from a colder region and DS was born in the colder months, but since we're going to Florida in a few weeks it got me thinking. I was told you aren't supposed to use sunscreen in babies under 6 months. Is this true? And if so, how do you protect LO from getting sunburned? I plan to keep him as covered but worry since DH has such fair skin. TIA!

Light weight clothing that covers LO completey and a hat are definite must haves. I believe that you can also buy a UV protectant stroller shade that goes over the original canopy of your stroller as well.

ETA: SnoozeShade Plus is the name of a universal sunshade for strollers and Summer Infant makes one called a Ray Shade.

  • Thanks so much everyone. I will definitely look into those stroller shades.
