Re: Work Christmas Party

  • Yes!  Mine was last Friday night at a winery.  DH's is next Wednesday night and is pretty much black tie.  Um, yeah, black tie on a Wednesday night??!?

  • My work doesn't but DH's does.  It's tomorrow evening and they always have it at a hotel with a pretty nice buffet and about 20 prizes are handed out.

  • Yes and undecided.
It is held at a country club on a Saturday night.  If DH isn't working and we can find a babysitter we will probably go.

  • I work with my family so we just have normal Christmas Day.
  • Yes--black tie at a country club. On a Thursday night. Expected that you will stay out until about 2:00, and then be bright-eyes and bushy tailed in your office ready to work hard the next morning at 8:30 am! Silly--but that is "how it has always been done!"
  • Yes they do but it was the night of my wedding so we couldn't go. It is usually super fun and they have an open bar all night.

  • Yes, and yes, we're going. Our parties are pretty extravagant and are held on the club level of Raven's stadium. Every year is an awesome theme - last year was Mardi Gras, the year before that was a winter wonder land and they literally brought in a portable ice skating rink and had professional ice skaters do a show. It's also open bar with tons of food, and there is usually at least one special guest (usually a Baltimore Raven). A few years ago it was Ray Lewis, and a few weeks after the party is when he announced his retirement. That is something I'll remember forever! Working for a large tech company definitely has it's perks!

  • We have one for our department but we pay for it ourselves...$37 for lunch! I work for the big boss so I kind of have to go. The president of the company has one too. I went for a little bit. It's at the end of the day/after hours and I didn't have anyone to watch dd.

  • Yes and yes. My staff all agreed on a date after Christmas because holiday schedules were too crazy. We will get together for a potluck at my pharmacy manager's house. Families of all of our staff are invited too.

  • the company i work for is too large to have a company party. we have smaller departments, and we usually do a potluck or something..my direct line is doing a lunch here at work..but nothing fancy.. i saw a sign posted in one of my areas that everyone is meeting at a casino this friday....does that count?

  • I stay at home so I guess I could throw a work party!
