TTC After a Loss

*~*~*~*May Flowers Check In*~*~*~* 12/15/14

Hello my lovelies! Some changes around here on TB these days. EDD check ins will now be posted every other week on the first and third Monday of the month. Please do not bump the check in after the first week. Any news after that can be shared on the main board to encourage more activity there.

No individual check ins this week, sorry! I'm still a little groggy today.

Hello my May mommas <3 I hope your week is starting off right

Please update us on what is going on with you both TTCAL and NTTCALR. Please feel free to PM me anytime if you are having a tough week. <3 or if you get a BFP. xoxo

This is a check-in for anyone who had a loss or an EDD in May (of any year). I am so sorry for each one of your losses. I hope that this can be a place to give support and help each other through this difficult time. Members, give us an update on how you are doing. If I didn’t tag you with specific questions, it’s only because we didn’t hear from you last week (or for a few weeks) - please jump back in. Please pop in and let us know how you’re doing even if you don’t have time to respond to everyone individually this week! New members, introduce yourself so that we can get to know you.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know so that we can congratulate you on PgAL. I try to lurk on PgAL often, but sometimes it’s tough and I might miss it. Please send me a PM also if you are taking a Bump Break.

Hey hun!  How are you feeling??  When do you get news back on those eggs!  19, holy crap!  Edit:  Whoops, just saw your Fert report!    That's fantastic!

AFM, my husband comes home tonight.  Yay!  Tomorrow we are taking a day trip to Hershey park.  It's a yearly Christmas tradition, so I'm looking forward to it.

TTCALR: If this is not a positive cycle (and it's  really really weird cycle what with the being sick for part of it and FF changing my CH's frequently), I think husband and I are taking a break in the new year.  I'm not really sure when we would be starting up again, but this journey has been so long and so painful that we need the break.  We started trying on our honeymoon, and in February we will have been marrried 5 years.  It would be nice to be intimate without it being about conception.

  • @km380 congrats on the egg retrieval and great fert report!  I hope everything works out for you this cycle, when would you be thinking about transfer?

@menrandes I really hope this is the cycle for you, but if not, by all means, have sex for fun!

TTCALR:  I'm still in the 2ww post IUI # 1 (12dpt, 10dpiui).  I posted this in the crazy train, but I had thought I was going to be out yesterday d/t temp drop and cramping but temp is back up this am and no sign of AF.  Trigger was negative yesterday.  Trying to hold out until beta 12/20.

NTTCALR:  Well, it looks like we bought a house (or will have bought a house at closing at the end of January).  I'm excited but kind of freaking out.  So much to do before then, not to mention moving again...

We won't do a transfer until January.

Fx for your IUI!! Try and hold out as long as you can to test.
Congrats on the house! That is stressful but it will be worth it. Plus then you don't have to move for a long time!

  • @Km380 Oh Hershey at Christmas is so pretty.  They call it Christmas Candylane and have lights all over synced up to Christmas music.  Not every ride is open.  No roller coasters, that would be too cold!  But they do have a Christmas themed train set up and most of their ride become holiday themed.

  • @linkloveszelda26 Hehe, our honeymoon was almost 5 years ago in 2010.
With CM, I record the most fertile. I have a bad habit of over checking it myself.

  • @linkloveszelda26 yep, with CM, you can check multiple times per day and always record the most fertile.

  • Haiiii ladies! I miss the check in, but I've definitely been more active on the main board! :)  :-h

Can I ask a non-gross CM question? When you check CM how many times a day do you check? for instance lets say you woke up with EWCM or watery, but then the rest of the day you've got nothing...Do you mark that day as EWCM or dry??? I hate CM charting, but it seems to be healthy on FF. Also do you reach up in there and check or just look at the TP? lol I guess this was kind of gross lol

    @km380 AWESOME FERT REPORT! :)
    <:-P

@menrandes I hope you enjoy your honeymoon (hoping I read that right) and congrats on the upcoming 5 years! Sex for fun woohoo!

@nikiswimr it looks like you've got plenty to keep you occupied until the 20th! CONGRATS on a new house that's awesome!!

NTTCAL-I'm bored shitless at work I love and hate the end of the year. We don't have much going on so I can bump all day for money ;) so I've been trying to get rid of the holidays. I finally decorated my house last week and it's beautiful!!

    TTCAL-I'm just waiting to O
Sorry I don't check cm so I'll let others chime in there. The end of year is quiet for me too, it's awesome and so boring at the same time. Glad you got the house decorated!

  • Hi ladies, I've missed you all since our last check-in.  @Km380, I'm so happy your egg retrieval went well!  Thanks for keeping track of when to post this check-in also!

@Menrandes, I'm so glad your DH comes home, yay!!!  Also, I'm so sorry that this has been such a long journey for you.  A break sounds like a good idea.

@nikiswimr, I'm crossing my fingers for you and congrats on the house!!

AFM, I should O any day now.  So I'm just hanging around trying not to be a crazy person.  We put way too much effort into TTC this month.  If this isn't our month, we definitely need a more laid back response for the new year.  I feel like I've been approaching this like a sprint, when its really a marathon.  Just really ready to get through this month and see where we're at.

NTTCALR: I got @Menrandes' Christmas lego set and ladies, seriously, its the most awesome thing ever.  I had so much fun and feel like a little kid!!  I already can't wait for next year to get a new set.  Also, DH and I finished our fire pit this weekend.  Its in the ground, so we had to dig it, put down the stone, and then spread gravel to make the circle.  It was A LOT of hard work but so worth it.  We love sitting by the fire outside, making smores, the whole shebang. :)

I'm feeling better this week, but I have a feeling its because I'm about to O and have something hopeful to look forward to.  The same thing happened last month and CD1 was a big crash.  I really, really hope the letdown is a little less dramatic this month especially since it may fall right on Christmas.

  • @linkloveszelda26, good question!!  I check CM every time I go to the bathroom, usually.  I've also been trying to check my cervix position...still not sure if I've got it.  Also, definitely record the most fertile CM.  Checking CM is so helpful but so frustrating!  I got EWCM when I wiped earlier today but when I checked internally, I got nothing.  I have no idea, lol.  I just hope there's enough there to keep some sperm alive.

FX for you this cycle! There is nothing easy about this journey and its so hard not to go bsc. All I can say is do what's best for you and yh. The whole cycle sucks and I feel like all we do is spend our lives waiting for something...waiting for O, waiting for AF, Waiting for a bfp. Exhausting.
Your fire pit sounds awesome though! I love siting around ours (um we bought ours though lol) and having a drink and relaxing with the hubby

  • Hi all - I've missed these check-in's recently....been mostly just lurking and feeling sorry for myself. I need to get caught up on everyone!

AFM TTGPAL - just hanging out doing a non-medicated cycle this month. I'll go back to Clomid, trigger shot, TI & progesterone next cycle when my flex plan kicks back in for 2015 (I drained my 2014 plan a long time ago). I'm trying to not stress too much, but reaching the 1 year mark of trying has me really bummed...and feeling the pressure.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

  • @Km380- Hi there! I saw earlier about your eggies. That's great news! I hope all goes well from here on out.

@Menrandes- Have a great time in Hershey. The last time I was there was a few years ago for my sister-in-law's graduation from medical school (Penn State has its medical school there) and it was a lot of fun. I also love chocolate, lol.

@nikiswimr- Congrats on the new house! That's really great and very exciting :) I know it's stressful packing and stuff, but it's all worth it in the end.

@welly01- That's fun about the Xmas Lego set. I still love Legos. Also, wishing you luck this month with TTC.

@linkloveszelda26- Can't answer your question, but hello and happy holidays! Sorry you're bored at work.

    So as for me…

TTCAL- I think I may be O'ing now. Maybe? I'm not charting right now or anything. I told DH I want to just give things a go this month unassisted and if nothing happens, I'll look into getting an OPK next month. This is the first time we've tried post-loss, so I don't want to put too much pressure on us.

NTTCAL- Planning for my little sister's wedding (she got engaged Dec. 6) is already starting. I'm the MoH in a bridal party of 10 girls, all of whom are at least 2 years younger than me (and a lot hipper than me). Heaven help me.

Also, Hanukkah starts tomorrow night! We had my parents and my sister over our house last night for dinner. DH and I made roast chicken, couscous, and veggies. My mom, sister, and I worked together to make potato latkes, which were super yummy (but also super messy to clean up). We exchanged gifts and I made out pretty well (2 sweaters, a pair of earrings, and a set of lip glosses). DH and I aren't doing Hanukkah gifts this year, and are instead planning a trip to New Orleans next month (DH has been for Mardi Gras, but I've never been).

Happy Hanukkah to anyone celebrating and happy holidays to the rest of you!

  • @MellyMel15 Happy Hanukkah!  Also, TEN bridesmaids...geez.  You've got your work cut out for you!!  I'm glad you and DH are taking a more laid back approach to TTC the first post-loss cycle.  Temping is wonderful, but it definitely adds a lot more stress.

  • @welly01- Thanks! Yup, my sister and her fiancé have A LOT of friends. I've already told her that I'll do my best with wedding stuff, but that I don't know what this year will bring for me in terms of trying to have a baby. She knows I've been having a tough time and has promised that some of the other bridesmaids will pitch in and help with planning. Hopefully they will and hopefully I'll make it out alive, lol. Did I mention that I'm also a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding in June? Yeah…

Hi all - I've missed these check-in's recently....been mostly just lurking and feeling sorry for myself.

(((hugs))) reaching those marks just sucks. Good luck with your non medicated cycle, I hope you can relax a bit this month

Happy Hannukkah! Love that you are planning a trip instead as a gift. Good luck with your first cycle, I hope you can not stress about it too much. If you go the OPK route next month I am a big pusher of the digital ones (Not the advanced!)

This month it looks like I O'd when I used to. Which surprised FF and me too. There is a small chance. But DH is having all sorts of issues especially with focus.....I don't know how I feel either way. I think my incision is finally done being a jerk.

NTTCALR: Part of our fence fell over in the wind storm. Luckily our neighbor is really nice. DH and neighbor will fix the fence once the weather improves. Which means it won't kill the checkbook!
With DH's bonus we bought a kitchenaid. Of course our crockpot gave out after....Everything seems to be good and bad lately. lol Also I am so behind on everything. Oh well.
I also feel very scatter brained today.

Also DH has an interview Wednesday! It got cancelled today and changed to Wednesday.
Good luck to YH!! Owning a home can really suck, its really always something. Also, I LOVE my kitchenaid!
FX for your cycle, I'm so glad to hear your incision has healed finally

  • Hey Ladies- Happy Monday to you all!

TTCAL - This was our first month being able to TTC post -loss. It has been a hell of a ride. I abstained from drinking up until Friday -then I got a BFN so I got drunk - tequila drunk. The 2WW was hell and now I'm just waiting for AF to show up - she should be here any day. MH and I were more NTNP this month and will probably continue with that.

NTTCAL - Not a whole lot going on for us. December is crazy busy with us. We had our first of 3 traveling weekends this past weekend and will be traveling this weekend, Christmas, and the weekend after....BLAH! But I do LOVE LOVE LOVE being with family.

We also got a beautiful (albeit) religious (God's plan...) card from MH's aunt over the weekend. She, though, has had 4 miscarriages and had many kind words to share. She also called us "parents" which was the first time anyone has done that since our MMC and I UGLY cried.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I'm sorry I can't do individual responses right now - MH had to fast all day for some blood work and looks like he is going to pass out if I don't help him get food soon!

  • Ok- MH Is fed. He just had fasting blood work done this evening- I maybe made it sound more dramatic than it really was earlier. I made him tater tots in the waffle iron - weird but good.

@Menrandes - Your Christmas tradition at Hershey Park sounds fun. Sorry you are having a tough time with the TTC journey. FX this is a positive cycle; if not I hope you and YH can take care of each other. Will you do anything special for your 5yr anniversary?

@nikiswimr - Congrats on the new house! Is this your first home? How exciting!

@linkloveszelda26 - Sorry work is slow. Bumping for money - that sounds like a new job I would like.

@welly01 - Good luck with the rest of this cycle. I hope if/when AF shows CD1 isn’t a total bitch. Thinking of you.

@katie0919 - Sending many warm thoughts your way. Sorry about the 1 yr mark.

@MellyMel15 - Good luck with all of the wedding planning! 10 girls - that is a lot! The largest wedding party I was in had 9, that was tough for me and I had no responsibilities other than to show up! I even offered to sit out when her hubs was complaining about the amount of girls…

I’m glad your sister seems understanding of your circumstances.

What are Potato latkes? I do Christmas - but Happy Hanukkah to you!

@cavewmn - sorry about the focus issues. I’m glad your incision is doing better. Sorry everything is so up-and-down. Hang in there! FX for your hubs interview.

@king26 - I’m glad your RE appt went well. Good deal on the OOP costs!

@scubadiva30- Thank you! Latkes (see attached pic) are also called potato pancakes and are usually topped with sour cream or applesauce. They're made with grated potato, onion, egg, matzoh meal (or flour can be used), egg, and salt and pepper, and then fried in oil. If your DH likes tater tots, he'd love latkes and they're very easy to make!

I'm hoping I'll survive my sister's wedding. I know it's going to be one heck of a ride.

I'm sorry for your BFN. Hang in there and try to enjoy the holiday season. I hope you enjoy your travels and time with family.

"Everybody here has got a story to tell. Everybody's been through their own hell. There's nothing too special about getting hurt, but getting over it that takes the work. Because one way or another, we all need each other. Nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover because everything comes out the way it should in the end." -Glen Phillips, "Duck and Cover"

  • Hey ladies! Sorry I'm so late to the party. No individual comments from me today, but sending lots of love and hugs :)

Not much going on here. Still TTA for at least another cycle. We might decide to TTA a bit longer. DH seems a bit hesitant to try again for a while. We're going to talk about it more after the New Year. Right now I'm just enjoying being around him again.

NTTCALR: Just getting ready for the holidays. I'm actually pretty excited to be away from home for the first time this holiday season. As much as I love seeing all of my family and friends, it will be so nice to not be constantly on the go.

  • Hi ladies,
Hope you're all getting caught up in the holiday spirit! I just made cookies. As far as baby-making goes, I'm hoping I ovulated this time around. If so, I'll be on the crazy train for the next couple weeks.

No, sorry for the confusion. I still call indianapolis home, since we've only lived in St. Paul for a couple of weeks.
What I meant was that we aren't going back to our hometown for the holidays :)
