Oh i feel a little ashamed that i had been supporting this early induction thing. Im a FTPM in NZ full term is 37 weeks here thats when its safe to have your LO at home.. i thought wow what can 2 weeks difference have but it turns out alot! Ive been searching each week how small a baby is if they were born per weeks the mum is pregnant (say if my baby were to come this week id be freaked out 34weeks.. i dont want her coming early No way!! Little babys that come ahead of time end up locked away in a incubator and chained up by tubes and supplements. How could u wna risk that happening to your little bubba. Definetly glad i done my research. Pregnancy isn't all that bad and im the biggest wuss ever i definetly will miss the kicks and thumps
According to my OB, 37 weeks is considered full term, as long as no signs show otherwise.
Ways to induce labor, Sex, Spicy Foods, and Walking.
As long as your doc doesn't object to you having sex, eating spicy foods and walking, go for it.
My last appointment (38 weeks) my OB specifically said, baby could come tomorrow and would be perfectly fine. Trust in your doctor, ask for their advice.

Your doctor clearly needs to catch up with the current ACOG recommendations stating that full term is 39 weeks. There is a big difference from 37 to 40 weeks and the baby will come when theyre ready. Quit rushing it.
It's really sad when people blindly follow their doctors advice and don't advocate for themselves. Cause doctors have never been wrong before.
If someone was telling me my doctor was behind on information very relevant to my circumstances, id do my own research and find out for sure- not get shitty with the person telling me this info. But again, not everyone feels the need to advocate for themselves
Everyone has their options, (I know you know that), even doctors. You obviously agree with yours, why wouldn't you, I don't know them from Adam. So in return I am going to agree with mine. Nothing wrong with having conflicting options.
I trust my doctor if I didn't I would not doctor with them. I'm sure there is new information out there. I am sure if we researched every day there would be something new everyday,

Hmm. If I got conflicting opinions about something like, oh idk, the development of my baby at week 37 versus week 39, I'd definitely want to do some research and make sure I was doing the best thing for my kid. Because as a parent 'I' am my kid's primary advocate so I'd want to make sure I was doing what's best. But whatever, that's just me. Blindly listening to others just isn't my style
And I am my kids advocate, don't you dare try to say other wise. Your not a doctor, your entitled to your opinion. And I am entitled to mine. We agree to disagree, weather you like that or not I don't care.
Dude it's not an opinion. It's a new guideline across the board due to research that babies born at 37 weeks had higher rates of low birth weight, feeding issues and the fact that by 39 weeks their brains are even more developed. Is your baby going to be healthy if born at 37 weeks? Most likely. Are you wiling to risk it? That's up to you.
I don't see why it's such a big deal to ask your doctor at the next visit why they aren't adhering to the new ACOG guidelines. You're like, purposefully being stubborn about it like we're bullshitting you

ABSTRACT: In the past, the period from 3 weeks before until 2 weeks after the estimated date of delivery was considered “term,” with the expectation that neonatal outcomes from deliveries in this interval were uniform and good. Increasingly, however, research has shown that neonatal outcomes, especially respiratory morbidity, vary depending on the timing of delivery within this 5-week gestational age range. To address this lack of uniformity, a work group was convened in late 2012, which recommended that the label “term” be replaced with the designations early term (37 0/7 weeks of gestation through 38 6/7 weeks of gestation), full term (39 0/7 weeks of gestation through 40 6/7 weeks of gestation), late term (41 0/7 weeks of gestation through 41 6/7 weeks of gestation), and postterm (42 0/7 weeks of gestation and beyond) to more accurately describe deliveries occurring at or beyond 37 0/7 weeks of gestation. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine endorse and encourage the uniform use of the work group’s recommended new gestational age designations by all clinicians, researchers, and public health officials to facilitate data reporting, delivery of quality health care, and clinical research.
@mommy172B no where is it written that someone is ENTITLED to support. But they will get the truth and some strong opinions. If you consider being blunt "rude", that's on you. You can't dictate people's responses and have a hissy fit because people don't respond with unicorns and glitter. If you don't want to hear opinions then use Google.
hahahaha you really like to cause problems don't you... Is you're life really that rough. If you don't like what you read... move on! Because it is really annoying seeing all the "im the queen bee" crap that you post all the time. No body wants to see it or read it... and now it's my turn to attack you. Leave the poor girl alone. Bully.

Aww cute. Keep name calling. No one will miss you when you're banned.
Jeez, looks like this post turned into a battlefield. Give the girl a break! She didn't ask you how YOU felt on a personal level about her being in pain and wanting to LEARN something new. I'm sure she is fully aware that her baby is not ready to come into this world yet. But when you are all 38-40 weeks pregnant you're going to be doing your RESEARCH. It is also not always necessarily true that the baby will come when it's ready. Hence the reason people do early C-section, and induction. Don't treat her like she's stupid OR selfish because she wants to know more healthy ways to get that baby headed in the right direction. Again, she said nothing about RIGHT NOW, and it makes you all selfish for bringing your personal feelings to a post that was just meant for information.
On another note. I am only 33 weeks, and i have done my RESEARCH as well. So i am prepared for when my LO is 40 weeks and still not budging. There are so many silly things that could potentially start labor. Things like eating spicy foods. Acupuncture might help bring on labor too. another common one is having sex. Sex releases prostaglandins, which are hormone like substances that are like the medication give in the hospital to induce labor. There is also things like long walks, castor oil, and evening primrose oil. That's all ive got for you love. If you have any questions message me. I promise not to be judgmental. I know how stressful the last couple months can be.
Omg will you please stop posting dumb shit? Kthanxbai

Raspberry leaf tea does not induce labor. If you're going to give crap advice at least make sure the crap is correct.

This reminds me of a post where a girl was saying her doctor wanted to induce her. She had absolutely no idea why he wanted to do it. The little information he did give her she freely admitted she didn't even fully understand. People told her to ask more questions all she kept saying was "I TRUST MY DOCTOR". Everyone was like @-)

Glad you know how to Google. Ill stick with my doctors advice being that she has a degree.
My doctor has a degree too. She's also up to date on the current recommendations as to what's best for my baby's health. I'm sorry your doctor isn't.
You know what they call the person who graduated last from med school...
